We contacted another potential resource that was more reasonable than the dealer, but did not have what we needed in stock and estimated it could take as much as 10 business days to get the part. We reached out to Bruce's Locksmith, and Bruce himself gave us an estimate that was extremely reasonable, especially for mobile service at my parents' home (a real plus for a host of reasons). He estimated it may take a couple of business days for the part to arrive but that he could take care of it for us once it arrived. The next day, he called and had the part, and within an hour was at my parents' cutting the key and programming the fob, which he completed in about half an hour. He and his wife were very friendly, and you just can't beat the fantastic service!

Unfortunately, the contractor who installed it was incompetent and damaged the lock. I was able to order replacement parts, but the contractor still could not get the lock working right. We reached the point where we did not trust the contractor to keep trying, worried that he would damage the door. I called Lake Area Safe & Lock Tuesday mid-afternoon, expecting to wait a few days for the actual service call. They called Wednesday, and Jeff showed up by mid-morning.
