I purchased a strawberry shortcake, homemade pound cake with buttercream icing and the banana pudding cake. Just tasted all three and these are not from a box. They each have a unique flavor, texture and look, simply beautiful creations. Every detail of these cakes seems thoughtful and well executed. The banana is iced and a moist batter with light cream and decorated with little Nilla wafers. Confession: I didn't love the flavor. I couldn't taste much banana. The strawberry had the same crumb topping as the strawberry shortcake, ice cream and an entire middle layer of cream. I was there for it. The old fashioned frosted pound cake was nearly perfect, but I could taste the baking soda in the cake. I paid $4.50 per slice. I thought that price was fair, for a tall, generous slice. Also there is a $10 surcharge if you purchase a full cake out of the display. They also had a good looking peach cobbler on offer for $3.50 a serving, and a line out the door! The service was fine.
