First off, I got my deposit back in full. There were damages I pointed out, which they could have charged me for I believe but they did not. The manager was extremely kind and friendly whenever I spoke to her. And I should note that the general owner of the three apartment properties is also very kind who I first met when I lived out at the Cherry Lane apartments in 2006. When I lived out there, I also received my deposit back in full and they were very fair. If you need maintenance done all you have to do is ask. Your place will get maintained and they won't complain and they are very professional about it. The orchard apartments allows you to park right in front of your apartment which are all one story. And there is covered parking specific for your place and uncovered parking for additional cars. I loved just jumping out of my car and going inside as if I was living in a house. The place is spacious in my opinion with a nice fenced backyard which you can do whatever you want with. You will have a smaller kitchen than you might like though depending on what you prefer. But it worked for my wife and I. You just need an extra table to do all your cutting and things like that if you use a big microwave to take up counter space..which we did. The prices are reasonable because the place is super safe and family friendly. They have security roll through there regularly. You see kids playing and its just nice. The landscaping is very impressive and you can pick peaches off some of the trees during the summer. They are delicious. We never really took advantage of the pool or the grills, but we saw many people do so. I suppose it was great. The laundry facility is coded so you don't have random people going in there. Most machines are working but admittedly it can get annoying having to cough up quarters all the time to do your laundry. Anyways, if you are looking to move into a place just before you get a house and you don't mind being a bit close to the railroad tracks (but not too close and it is muffled by the other apartment between The Orchard and the railroad tracks), then this is the place. Right off the 58 entrance so easy to get to Edwards AFB or Bakersfield. Good luck in your apartment search!

I called once and sometimes twice a week trying to get an update all the way into Feb. Once I finally reached someone, they ran the credit check that I had paid for weeks earlier. Then another several weeks of calling and calling. Finally they told me I was approved, and needed to pay $100 hold fee that was good for 72 hours. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for them to call with a move in date. No call, no email. I call 3 days later and they tell me I'm NOT approved. The best part? They kept the $100 deposit. They told me it had been 72 hours already, so no refund. I disputed this, due to their lack of communication. Despite twice telling me they would refund it, I still haven't seen it, and it's now mid April. Run far away! I ended up in the apartments next door, and they have been WONDERFUL at every step.

Beautiful. We went back this past week and was surprised at the way everything still looked. While we were out walking we were greeted by the manager with a smile and hello. I said to my mother in law how nice to see friendly people here and she informed me that was the manager and she is very nice. I was shocked as anytime my mother in law needed anything she always told me the manager went above and beyond for her. I would like the manager and maintenance guy to know that my husband and I appreciate you and knowing that until we are able to make the move there ourselves that we appreciate you giving my mother in law a VERY nice place to live and feel safe at.
