I don't know how they do it (or why, actually, come to that matter) but this store sells shoes from brands such as Vans, Converse, Nike and Adidas at way, way cheaper prices than I've seen anywhere else in the city. We're talking around $80 for a really good pair of ladies Adidas running shoes (elsewhere, these tend to be over $100, often much more) and a huge range of colours of classic Vans plimsolls for around the same price. It's by no means a cool shop and I definitely wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for good quality leather shoes or anything cutting-edge fashiony but if you're looking for cheap runners or street shoes at much cheaper than the stores in the city centre, this is your place...just don't tell anyone else!

If you're a bargain hunter they have permanent sale tables set up in price range. The sale shoes aren't just the gross ones that no one wanted either, they are converse, vans and nike old season, as well as uncommon sizes that didn't sell. I think this place is run by a family as I have always been served by the same woman or one of her children, I like purchasing from here because I feel like I am helping out a local business rather than a huge brand.

Though I've never actually bought anything from the store, I've tried on numerous pairs of shoes there over the years, and have always been really impressed by the quality of the shoes as well as the wide selection. The staff at Mischief are really helpful, and don't mind you trying on half the store (something I've done quite a few times!), as they too are shoe lovers and understand how important it is to find not only the perfect fit but also the perfect style for you. He would pick out the fanciest, shiniest, most sparkly high heel and bring it over to me and ask if I'd like to try it on. I was starting to worry about his love of shoes but thought he could obviously just appreciate quality as much as I can. I noticed down the back there are a few shoes on sale. This is a pretty important thing for me because most of the prices are well above my price range and so sale items are unfortunately my only option.

Mum and I have come here a number of times to get our shoes repaired. They always do a wonderful job and best of all its cheap! There are so many shoe repair stores that rip you off!! The only down fall I have with this place is that it isn't located conveniently to me. As it's in a direction I never go in, sometimes it's easier to go elsewhere due to convenience. However when I needed to get two pair of boots fixed, I made the journey to come here as I knew I wasn't going to be charged an arm and a leg, also I would be happy with the result. Ladies, mens and children's shoes to choose from; I have bought some gorgeous knee high boots from them and have browsed for smaller boots but yet to find some that fits the bill. The place is more expensive than Number One shoes, but cheaper than Hannah's. The quality seems quite good and it is a relief to see some higher quality items on this strip of $2 store craziness in Avondale. Go buy their shoes so we can support them to stay!

I found items from Boohoo with the tags still attached. The items are in very good condition. Of course like many of the locations in NZ there aren't many people asking if you need help finding something or help with anything, but you can always ask a cashier at the front. There were only two checkouts, but if you shop there as soon as the doors open as I do, you shouldn't have any issues or experience long lines. The prices were fantastic in my opinion. The only thing I didn't see much of were belts, hats, purses or shoes, but this is the beginning of the year so I am sure there are loads of new stock. Don't take my word for it. Clearance prices when I popped in for a browse to mark the end of summer stock which made the somewhat high price tags slightly more affordable at 40 percent and 50 percent off retail. I liked their winter styles as well, most attractive and definitely Muya can hold its own as a high fashion shoe store in the heart of trendy, unforgivably showcase stylish Newmarket. I took them back in as I felt the quality was not up to standard. The woman grabbed the sandal out of my hand and said you have worn them so they can't be replaced. I said I was well aware I had worn them but they should still be able to be worn after less than 2 months. I put the sandal on to show her but she said I know what happens you don't have to show me. There for wide feet and you would have been told that. I understand that they mentioned that they were a wider fitting sandal but if they knew they would stretch to that extent perhaps they should advised me to buy a smaller size. No response to that just repeated they have been worn and can't exchange. Now have a very new pair of sandals which I'am unable to wear. Very unsatisfactory service. I was spoken to in a rude offhand manner.

Mine developed cracks all over despite of infrequent use within such a short time and I went back and dropped all the 4 pairs at their shop last week requesting them to look into their quality. They agreed to replace only mine with another pair which was fine. However last night when I went to pick them up the behavior of the Store Manager cum Owner, NOLA was extremely offensive & rude. She very unwillingly extended help with my replacement shoes.I failed to understand her condescending attitude since the shoes were not given to me in charity but had been paid for. To make it worse she refused to give me an extra carry bag for the 4 shoes.I was made to feel humiliated and left very disillusioned with tears in my eyes because I have never experienced something like this before. I have just found a report on Fair Go on a similar customer complaint by Reporter Hannah Wallis of TVNZ I will in time get over this unpleasant experience because I am never going back to them but come to think of it for Nola, the Store Manager cum Business Owner it is ...... 1) Loss of replacement cost of the shoes 2) Loss of an extra plastic carry bag 3) Loss of 4 genuine customers. 4) And above all loss of CUSTOMER GOODWILL because we will never recommend them to any of our acquaintances.
