Some of the trailer windows did not close fully, and it was cold out. One of the bunk beds all along the edge got wet at night. Had no idea there was no use of the propane until the last minute. So no hot water or use of stove burners in trailer. Fortunately, we brought our camp stove. Found it difficult to have to walk for a golf cart and make many trips to haul things in. Our cart kept konking out, even after charging. Bathrooms that are available on the property are very nice-hot water, private etc. real plumbing. The dish stations are also nice, but know they can be a walk. The grounds are beautiful and the trail is nice. Nice to have wood also on site. The trailer beds were comfortable, other than the wet one, bed linens were nice. Could use more pots and pans. Otherwise, adequate dishes. There is a portable heater inside which is nice. Its really more a place for younger people who wouldn't mind all the walking, carrying etc. We checked out all the cabins, trailers, and tents-all perfectly nice. Maybe we were to old for it.

Food - family - fun…read more An amazing week vacation spent at Camp Kettlewood, E. Troy, WI. We stayed at two awesome sites. First, the Last Resort, Tuesday thru Friday. Vintage Airstream with an awesome view and amenities. Just me and the wife. We hit a couple of local restaurants and had a couple great meals. Barley's Hops & Malt and East Troy House Restaurant. We drove to Milwaukee and visited some old friends on Thursday. It is only 40 miles away. And the hosts stopped by and spent some campfire time with us. Awesome! On Friday our children joined us and we moved to the 'Hilton'. We treated them because they grew up camping with us and we thought this was a great way to get together, reminisce and be together without all of the setup and hassle of camping. We sat around the campfire, had some great meals. We had Dutch oven pizza in the fire pit on Friday night. Steak and lobster, COC, twice baked potatoes, and stuffed chicken breast (some not care for steak and lobster) all on the propane grill on site. Almost forgot the Dutch oven breakfasts, Biscuits, Gravy and Egg Casserole (https://iamhomesteader.com/biscuits-and-gravy-casserole/) and Overnight Dutch Oven French Toast Casserole (https://homemadeheather.com/overnight-dutch-oven-french-toast-casserole/) Extra large fire pit and propane grill made it easy to cook some big family meals. There is not anything that we needed that was not provided (bring your own food of course). Truly recommend Camp Kettlewood. Planning another trip in September.

They are always available should you need anything. Most likely you won't need much because they have anticipated everything you could need and have done so with detail and care. We arrived later in the evening and they helped us find restaurants we could get delivery from since we were tired and didn't want to go out after the long drive. They greeted us with a complimentary brownie upon arrival. We slept well, much more comfortably than I usually do in hotels or stays away from home. You get a choice of many delicious breakfast items to choose from. They serve all kinds of food including vegan. They have their own veggie garden and use many homegrown veggies and herbs in their dishes. We had a tasty vegan frittata one morning and a tofu scramble the next. Served with vegan sausages, breakfast potatoes, fruit salad and unlimited coffee or tea. Other guests chose bacon, waffles, and eggs, etc. There's a Keurig machine, an ice maker and fresh water available 24/7 as well as a fridge with soft drinks. There is a gorgeous pool there! Unfortunately I forgot my swimsuit so we didn't try it but we will next time for sure. Other guests had a lot of enjoyment there. The grounds are lovely with gardens, seating areas and an outdoor fireplace. There's also a basketball hoop. Not only are the accommodations comfortable and homey, the owners are warm and friendly and we had wonderful conversations with them and fellow guests. We actually spent a couple hours lingering after breakfast because we all enjoyed the conversation so much! We admired their beautiful art on the walls as well. This is clearly more than a B&B for Karen and John, this is a dream come true and a definite passion project. They truly put their heart and soul into this property and it shows and is felt. We will definitely be back and will bring our kids as well. This place is a gem.

The gourmet breakfast is really tasty and served on china with real silver utensils. The gardens are delightful. The innkeepers are friendly and welcoming. There are so many windows that reveal the lovely views nestled in this very private estate. So many places to sit on patios outside, too. The entire property has a welcoming vibe so you really do feel relaxed and at home here. My stay was awesome and I will be returning.

It's from the 1800s and it's in amazing condition considering that age. If you don't want all that goes with staying in a cool historical building, get a room at the Hilton and call it a day. Okay, rant over. Now the good stuff. We stayed in the veranda suite for a long weekend and it was WONDERFUL. The room is lined almost entirely in bookcases with cool old books to be perused and enjoyed. Upon check-in the man who greeted us and provided our key was the sweetest of guys and the rest of the weekend we were left in peace. No intrusive keepers here! We were greeted by a small basket of fresh local apples when we arrived and while it's a small gesture, it was well appreciated (there was a rosy apple with pink flesh in the mix that I'm newly obsessed with). There was a coffee/tea station outside our room, wine glasses to be used at our leisure, silverware, fridges in the room and outside of it for our restaurant leftovers, and a wet bar in the room itself. Amenities were few but thoughtful. And honestly I appreciated not having a ton of unnecessary bells and whistles. Ultimate highlight besides the cool library vibe: THE VIEW. the room comes with its own private porch with table, chairs, and porch swing where you can look right out onto Lake Geneva. No buildings stand in the way. You're right there on the lake. Very romantic with a bottle of wine and the fall rain we had while visiting. Definitely a deal maker. Location! We were walking distance to everything good. You're mere steps away from the harbor, restaurants, and the downtown. We walked everywhere with ease. The keepers of the villa offer free parking, as well. No parking hassles at all!! The only things i didn't *love* about the place were the size of our shower (way too small, I bumped my elbows constantly) and there is a moderate amount of noise from people walking upstairs from you (old house floorboards, after all). That being said, what you get with the Inn far outweighs those minor inconveniences. I'd definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful evening and breakfast at the TC Smith historic Inn. These days, classic B&B's are harder and harder to find. This one is the real deal! We had a lovely private bedroom, and a spacious private bath complete with whirlpool tub and shower. The owner, Maureen, is a real sweetheart! She knew that it was my wife's birthday, so she had fresh cut flowers and balloons in our room. That was a nice touch and very unexpected! We were her only guests that evening, so we had Maureen all to ourselves the following morning at breakfast. Breakfast was wonderful, with homemade pastries and multiple courses. I agree with another reviewer - Maureen knows the true meaning of "Hospitality". What a treat! Did I mention she is a sweetheart? I've read some other negative reviews about issues with dogs, clutter, etc... We experienced NONE of that. If you're looking for a "modern" or "contemporary" stay, book an airbnb. The hosts were also very knowledgeable about local landmarks and things to do (and I really enjoyed visiting an observatory nearby that was just gorgeous and doing some shopping downtown -- was there for work so not much free time). The room is quaint, nicely furnished for the antique look, and has a very comfortable bed. (The Sunshine Room.) I would go back there in a heartbeat next time I am in Lake Geneva.

We stayed in the Sunshine Room and it was just fine. The place is about 10 minutes from downtown Lake Geneva. Breakfast was served to all the guests at the same time. Sue cooks and Bob plays waiter/busboy. Very, very tasty...Sue is a fantastic cook! Our only complaint was that the sheets weren't super soft and the towels might be the ones they bought when they opened the place 19 years ago...pretty scratchy and dingy. They could use some new ones. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay here. Sadly Bob and Sue told us they might stop running the place in the next year or so and hand things over to their son. Hopefully he will run things as well as they do!
