Not a great experience. My Brother passed away unexpectedly and his wish was to have a green…read moreburial. They knew nothing about green burials, they seemed to just want to rush everything. His clothing he was wearing was never offered back to us and never returned. A green burial is supposed to be less cost than a conventional burial from what I have read, similar to a cremation since there is no embalming, no casket, etc. We did not have a service as my Brother would not have wanted a big thing made out of his passing, just family and friends at his grave site. I was still charged 9,770.00 and I had to write the check out in the parking lot of the cemetery office as Ellsworth had paid all the costs and wanted their money back immediately before they even laid him to rest. Very poor in service in my opinion. Taking advantage of a family at it's most vulnerable time.

Their website says: "Our on-site crematory allows you to be sure your loved one is never out of our care. It matters!" When I picked up my mother's remains and death certificates, I was incredibly disappointed to read that cremation was actually performed by Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton! No one even called to let us know! THIS MATTERS!

The funeral director came to the VA hospice cottage before my father passed and was very nice,…read moreinformative and assured me I would receive death certificates and to let him know the number I need after his passing. A couple weeks go by and I called to tell him where the remains need to be sent and how many death certificates I need. Another week goes by and I send an email in which he replied he will ask the doctor to sign off so he can order the death certificates. I don't hear anything more so I emailed again a few days later. I received no response. I called twice and was always told he was not available and never received a call back. It's been a month since his passing and I had yet to receive the death certificates so I chose to pay the money and order them on my own. I received them within 2 days. I was frustrated with the lack of integrity and follow through in a sensitive time when I need specific documents since I'm executor of the will/trust.
