We reached out to interview a variety of wedding planners seven months before our wedding, and Heather at Willmus Weddings immediately stood out. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer and videographer in La Jolla! Christophe was fantastic - professionally and also in his personality. He made my husband and I feel comfortable and relaxed on a day that is everything but, LOL. He also worked with us and was flexible when we had to make some changes due to COVID limitations (we ended up only having 8 guests!). We were really happy with the final product and just love our photos and our wedding video. One thing I was a bit nervous about was lighting - my husband and I are both biracial (black & white), and we have family members of all hues! Sometimes in those situations, some people look washed out and pale, and others look a bit muddy in the coloring. But I brought this up with Christophe ahead of time and he did a good job of adjusting for our beautiful rainbow of a family in the final product. We hired Heather and Christophe in October 2021 to design, coordinate, and photograph our August 2022 wedding and it was the best decision we ever made! This short review doesn't do any of the incredible work both Heather and Christophe did any justice as we would not have been able to pull off the perfect wedding without them and words can't begin to describe how grateful we were to have found them. Planning/Coordination My partner and I spoke with a handful of planners, but as soon as we spoke to Heather on the phone we knew she was the one. We just got good vibes from her right off the bat and knew she'd be perfect to help us throw an awesome wedding. Over the course of the process, Heather shared a ton of extremely helpful checklists and timelines to keep us on track and organized. She had the perfect touch of helping and reminding us to make certain decisions without making us feel like we were running behind schedule. She also had the perfect recommendations when we asked about certain vendors (Hair & Make Up, DJ, Florals etc) and did all the legwork to contact her network to make sure folks were available before even sending us their contact information. This alone saved us hours of research trying to find the perfect vendor and then waiting for their response back. I can't even begin to quantify how helpful it was to be presented with a few options of trusted vendors that Heather knew were the best of the best to choose from. As we got closer to the wedding, Heather walked us through our "day of" timeline and confirmed all the little details we would never have thought about if not for her. She triple-checked everything with our vendors, sharing the timeline with them and ensuring everything ran smoothly (and it did!). On our wedding day, we were both very calm and relaxed knowing that Heather and her assistant Clemence had everything taken care of at the venue. Our parents and several of our guests marveled at how many planners we must have hired to keep everything on track when we really only had Heather and Clemence helping. She nailed what we wanted on the first try and helped us find the right vendors to turn the vision into reality. While meeting with various vendors she conveyed our vision and recommended different design changes or additions based on our questions/feedback. It was incredible to see everything come together on our wedding day and we absolutely could not have done it without Heather! Photography/Videography My partner and I had never taken any professional photos before and weren't sure what to expect, but felt right at ease under Christophe's guidance. He made us look so natural and our engagement photos turned out so well - we were extremely excited to work with him again on our wedding day. On our wedding day, Christophe arrived with his team (one additional photographer, one videographer) and got right to work taking hundreds of photos of every little detail. He was able to corral our large and rowdy families and wedding party to get the perfect group shots and managed to do so efficiently so we could release the guests back to the wedding festivities. Christophe took my partner and I outside and around the venue to take hundreds of individual shots and expertly directed us and his team to make sure we got the perfect shot in the perfect lighting. When we got our photos and video back we were absolutely floored at how well they came out and how beautiful each and everyone looked. On the wedding day, she went above and beyond - coordinated the vendors, made sure the itinerary go smoothly, checked on the wedding party, took care of all the details including setup, and storing/organizing all our items neatly. We are usually pretty awkward and stiff in photos, but we looked great and natural in the photos. Christophe was so on top of the schedule and helped us with the logistics through the whole day, even among the getting-ready chaos. Christophe was probably both mine and my husband's favorite vendor all around for our wedding. Our engagement shoot (pre-COVID) went incredibly well and we just received our photos back from our wedding (during COVID!), and we're incredibly happy with them. Like, over the moon happy. He was SO easy to work with and made our friends and family as well as my husband and I very comfortable for photos. The entire day was incredibly chaotic, but Christophe was great in ensuring we got all of the shots we wanted and really captured every moment. Heather and Christophe were the DREAM team on our wedding day in La Jolla. Despite the chaos of a wedding, Heather was on the ground anticipating every need of ours. She was calm, cool and collected. During the planning process she also helped us book every vendor and made sure to ask detail oriented questions I would never think about. I could not imagine not having her through the whole process. Christophe was an awesome vibe for our wedding, adding to the fun of the party. He was great with our families and friends and took the best shots - we are incredibly impressed with how the photos turned out. My favorite part was sunset photos where he posed us above ocean . Seriously, Heather is a savior and an amazing wedding coordinator. She obviously has a ton of experience as she was very cool and collected, organized, and had my wedding day go PERFECTLY! Literally had such a perfect day. I am typically a super anxious person, especially when it comes to planning so it was important for me to have someone who is incredibly organized and goes above and beyond. Heather is beyond stellar! From the beginning, even before her official contract (we booked her one month + day of coordination) started with us, she provided us with extensive lists to help with planning for the future and even some help/recommendations for vendors. These lists were also used as the month drew near, and were amazing for establishing timelines and lists of everything you ever need. She is almost always available to help you out either by text or call, or she will call back as soon as she can to help out. My family had so many last-minute changes, and Heather was accommodating to everything and helped me feel at ease. My husband and I cannot recommend Heather enough! Clemence was also an assistant on our wedding day and was also very sweet and professional. Every little detail was taken care of for the wedding; it helped that Heather had a ton of experience working with my venue. Everything from getting my vendors organized and there on time and providing all the info for them, to small things like having my flats ready for me under the sweetheart table for after my dances.
