Disappointed With How My Pool Service Ended
I hired this company in August 2026 and initially paid $500 to have my pool restored to swim-ready condition. Afterward, I agreed to weekly pool maintenance for $160 per month, including chemicals.
The company serviced my pool during the first week of October. Unfortunately, following the hurricane, my pool accumulated leaves and debris, and I was informed there would be an additional $100 charge for cleanup.
I understand that hurricanes create additional work and that businesses may need to charge for services outside their normal maintenance agreements. However, since we had already discussed closing my pool for the winter after October, I explained that I could not afford the additional charge.
The owner offered to refund my entire October payment, which I appreciated. However, I still needed clarification about whether my pool would be cleaned and properly prepared for winter before service ended.
Instead of receiving an answer to those questions, I received a response stating, "Unfortunately, I cannot continue the back-and-forth with AI messages." He then informed me that my October payment would be refunded and his company would no longer service my address.
I found that response disappointing and dismissive. Whether I use AI to help communicate my concerns is irrelevant. I am still a customer asking reasonable questions about services and charges.
My issue was never simply about paying an additional $100. It was about understanding what was included in my service, what would happen to my pool before winter, and receiving clear communication.
I did not ask to discontinue my pool service. I only wanted clarification.
I am sharing my experience because I believe good customer service includes professionalism, patience, and respectful communication, especially when unexpected circumstances arise.
Unfortunately, what started as a positive experience ended with my service being terminated and my pool still needing attention.
I encourage potential customers to ask detailed questions about hurricane cleanup charges, what monthly maintenance includes, and winter pool closing services before entering into an agreement. read more
