We had a small move of items from Southeast Missouri to North Carolina and in searching for nearby movers I came across several companies including Williams. Williams' price was very good and we couldn't be happier with their service. The move was completed yesterday and everything was in perfect condition and placed in our home with care. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Fantastic! I called the office and spoke to Tonya who coordinated the entire move for us. Tonya was our point of contact and was very responsive both via phone and email. It was great to have one point of contact to determine their initial estimate, coordinate pick up and a short-term storage, arrange for delivery, etc. PICK UP: Fantastic! Arrival time and date was arranged a week in advance and confirmed by email and phone. Williams was flexible and moved back their suggested pick up time a few hours to a time that worked better for us. With all of the other things going on when you're moving, it was nice to work with a firm that tried to make it easier for us. DELIVERY: Fantastic! The driver called me from the road the day prior to arriving in North Carolina to introduce himself, confirm some details, and estimate his time of arrival. The office had already given us a certain delivery date a few days prior. With a small load, we knew that our delivery would be on a date-to-be-determined as part of a full move. While the specific date could not be set at pick up, Tonya was confident that the delivery date would be "soon" but she was conservative in providing a range of likely delivery dates. She did not over-promise in order to get our business but instead was very candid in discussing likely dates. She got our business by earning our trust and that's so key with moving items including a few heirlooms and antiques that are dear to our family. REVIEWS: With thousands of moves annually, the small number of negative reviews that have been posted do not at all reflect our experience with Williams. We whole heartedly recommend this long operating family owned business. read more

My experience is through the lenses of military move, in which the driver and the manager he kept calling were both hostile and rude and the driver having issue with me from the moment I opened the door to my home. So please avoid this business if you are POC or female because its extremely uncomfortable having such hostility and rudeness displayed to you in your home and the manager that is called is advocating for the bad behavior and lies of their not being a place to unpack when my new home has two additional rooms than the last and a larger garage and far more storage. If I could give zero stars for the rudeness and hostility alone I would. Racism and sexism is not ok. Insulting someone's brand new home is not ok, the behavior displayed to me is inexcusable and disgusting. read more

Great people. Great Service. Rick, the owner, is as down to earth as you hope for. That's not to say he doesn't know his business, because he is awesome. Everyone that I worked with was professional, knowedgeable and friendly. You can't beat that! read more

One of their drivers was caught taking a shit in a truckstop parking lot instead of walking into the truckstop and use the washroom. He pulled his pants down and took a dump right by his truck instead. He also cleaned out all the garbage from inside the truck and threw it on the parking lot. And yes there was pictures taken of the incident read more

I was assigned this company for a relocation with work. Terrible customer service. Only giving one start because because you can't give zero. Would avoid this company at all cost. Worst moving experience in 20 years. Tanya was extremely disrespectful every time I spoke with her on the phone and threatening to delay my move because I was unhappy with a scheduling mistake this company made. read more

I called several times and they guaranteed that they could move some furniture and just store it at their facility until they could get a truck to my city, which was fine. I even told them sometime in a particular week is when I needed it done, giving them even more flexibility. I kept calling and they said someone would call me to book it. However, no one did. I finally got someone on the line who said they were booked up that week, the week that they said they could do it. They looked on my file and saw that I had requested months before, but now they can't do it. I asked, why didn't you tell me that the first time I called and they could not give me an answer. Be aware if you try to book with them. I am really disappointed they treated us this way. We had already made hotel reservations to be in the city then. read more

Their employees stole items, didn't package properly much of the other items, damaged several boxes, lost almost as many and left behind items. They cost us close to $10k, then wanted to offer a check for 1/10th of that. They gave us zero dollars for most items, and then said stuff like prove you had keys to a safe that is locked with items inside, that they lost. read more

RUN AWAY!!!! Unless you like having everything damaged and really don't care about ANYTHING you own. Like all the other reviews, WORST company to get for your PCS. Most of our goods arrived with water damage and damages not reported by the driver at pickup. The company's response is that it is all preexisting. Just be prepared to forward your entire claim to MCO because this is seriously the worst company and they will take as long as possible to respond to even the smallest inquiry. read more

Horrible customer service. DO NOT USE THEM. Wish I could give 0 stars. They seem to forget they're being paid to move my household. I'm a small business owner myself and if any of my employees spoke to me the way Tanya/Tonya did she would be immediately fired and I would not give a positive recommendation to future employers. When a customer gives dates to drop off goods, it's the moving companies responsibility to find a crew who can make those dates work. They had the audacity to tell me "everyone needs a day off" in reference to Sunday's. She seemed to forget she is speaking to a military member and health professional, both of whom work weekends/holidays to better serve our country and community including her. Make sure you do not use this company or their partners. I wish my husband had done better research before allowing this company near our house. Or that I would have double checked behind him. Would have been better off moving myself. read more

UPDATE! After being offered pennies on the dollar to repair my solid wood bedroom furniture, I elevated my case to the Military Claims Office. After adjudication, I received nearly twice what Williams originally offered. Do yourself a favor and elevate to the MCO after your 30-day waiting period, or better yet, trust your household goods to another company in the first place. read more

The worst PCS move to date. This company had problems on pick-up, delivery and during the claims process. Under no circumstance should they be a DoD moving contractor and I encourage all to list them as TSP not to use when completing your DTS paperwork. Pickup -- Failed to take numerous items including alcohol until I had the local property office get involved. They finally conceded and packed them. Delivery -- Send 2 people to move and unpack 12000 lbs of HHG. After 4 hours, they had only moved abut 25% of the items. I had to call the office and complain to get them to send help so they could actually finish that day. Subsequently, the people here were rude and confronted me asking if I called and complained. They were adamant they were doing just fine without help. At their snail's pace, it would have take 3 days. Ridiculous! After that, they started complaining about everything. They refused to reassebly furniture disassembled by the pickup crew including cribs, garage shelving units, etc. One of the "helpers" tried to steal several items until I called him on it and he brought them back from his truck. Crazy. Claims -- Nickeled and dimed the entire way. They initially offer $125 to fix a table that ended up settled (through MCO ajudication) for close to $900. It took 8 months to finally get paid so I can fix all of the broken items. Totally unacceptable. All in all -- this is one company you NEVER want to use. If you are applying for your next DTS move soon, make sure you list them as a TSP not to use. You are always asked for your preferred and prohibitted providers -- LIST THEM! If you were just assigned them, call the local property office and request another TSP. They typically grant this request and it will save you A LOT of hassle down the road. Hands down the WORST DoD TSP out there! read more

This is the worst Moving Company in all my 14 years of moving in the Military. Please Please Please DO NOT use their poor service. They are rude specifically the Dispatcher Rick Rauls. He hang up in my ears after refusing to deliver my Household Goods by the Requested Required Date(RRD) the Military Transportation Office imposed upon them. After I informed him that I was fully aware of the RRD, he became Belligerent, rude, and condescending. Not to mention our furniture had many scratches on them. Upon delivery they acted as if they didn't want to unpack. Attitude Stunk! I mean I can go on and on about their poor service. For the sake of your Sanity I advise anyone and everyone not to use this Fake moving Company. read more

By Far the worst experience I could imagine for a moving company. The movers that came to deliver our stuff were obviously picked up off the street. They were hard working for about 2 hours until I started hearing about how they needed to leave early to make another delivery. We had over 11K pounds of household goods which were contracted to be delivered with the option of unpacking. It was apparent that these guys were planning on just dropping the stuff and running. When I asked them to put the 2 beds together they gave me a lot of attitude and only put one of them together with the bolts finger tight while I borrowed their tools to put the other one together. The worst part is in their rush to get out of there, 1 of them stole my wife's cell phone right off the kitchen counter. After months of trying to contact the moving company I have given up and it looks like if I want anything to happen will have to take legal action to recover the phone. I have sent everyone in the company including the president a personal email asking them to make this situation right and haven't had the decency of a response. When I call I get the receptionist, who it is apparent has been told to send me to voicemail, then I never get a call back. This company is terrible, they do not have bonded real employees, then they blame the client (for leaving the phone in plain sight) when something comes up missing. I hope they never get a moving contract again, they really don't deserve to be in the business. I have done 5 military moves before and have never had a problem. Williams (contracted by Moore) moving and shipping is terrible. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. DO NOT hire Williams moving company! in 21 years of moving around the world, Williams has been our worst moving company. They undervalued the weight of our household goods. Then sent a truck that didn't even have room for their estimate. The crew they hired to pack us out on the last day of 3 day pack out acted like they were high on drugs and spent 4 hours just to pack ONE wardrobe box and ONE TV. They didn't even pack or properly label everything. Which is convenient for Williams Moving because it gets them off the hook for items that are stolen. Since the first truck they sent didn't have enough room for all of our household goods we had to have two separate shipments. When our first shipment arrived it was missing things, and most items that came off of the truck weren't even labeled on the inventory. When we noted that items were missing they assured us that they were on the second truck. That was not the case. On top of having items outright stolen from our garage, we incurred close to $10,000 worth of damaged items. A tempurpedic mattress, our samsung french door refrigerator, a TV stand that looked like someone took a mallet to the inside supports to name a few. We've been very patient and three months later we are still dealing with a claim to be reimbursed for these items. They refuse to be reasonable and are low balling us on everything. They only finally agreed to replace the refrigerator when it went on sale this weekend for Columbus day and of course they are only willing to reimburse for the sales price, which will change by the time we would get a check from them. I wager that 95% of our loss and damage could have been avoided had they simply sent a truck that had enough room to fit everything in it. Also it should be noted that, per their own claims adjuster, they do not carry insurance to cover the replacement of goods in their care. read more

This company moved us for a military PCS and it has been a nightmare since. We have never had so much of our stuff broken during a PCS. And beyond that, they refuse to pay claims. They broke my children's bunkbed set and took months to respond to our claim. They then claimed their liability at a mere $100. We are currently using an attorney to proceed in the process of having them blacklisted so they cannot do this to another military family. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY I REPEAT !!!! The lack of communication is terrible. I was told twice that the dispatcher will give me a call back and never did . Unless you call them you will never know anything. They failed to pack my goods on time and HHG was not delivered on time and telling me I have to wait 5 more days like I sit at home all day. What makes me mad is ...if I never called I would have never known anything ... read more

I will never use them again regardless if DOD is moving me or not. I recommend everyone to stay away, Claims,,,,offered pennies for items that was destroyed and damaged. They do not know what fair and reasonable is at this company, the missing items I was offer zero. I am currently going to DOD to protest. read more

My household goods were delivered to my place on August 15,2017 and about (two crates) most of my things were missing and/or damaged. I immediately made my loss or damage claim by filling out the form provided to me by the movers on that very same day and made the initial loss damage claim on the DPS site a few days later. Ms. Lawanda and Sherri have been pleasantly and amazingly helpful with any questions that I may have had, so they are not my problem. I have an issue with how the entire Williams moving company has mishandled my moving experience by losing and damaging my things and by lack of communication as far as keeping me in the loop of my reimbursement status. I have constantly had to call and email just to make some kinds of action happened and to get answers. My things were mysteriously found after 15 days of being without them and some were still no recovered, the things that were recovered had damages. This is not right that I have to wait so long in order to be compensated , instead I get stalled while WMC procrastinates on my claim. ..... this is a really bad look and has to be resolved ASAP. it is October 2, 2017 and my claim has still not been processed yet. I wrote an email to owner Rick Williams and requested a call back and was given the run around and he ended up having another staff member email me instead... I HOPE THAT DOD MILITARY TRANSPORTATION OFFICE NEVER USES THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I don't doubt that the people working there are good people but the company's way of doing thing proves that they are not ready for any major moves at all. read more

WORST military move ever! Locally hired workers walked off the job but WORSE than that is that the driver conned me into signing paperwork. Just sign and write in the problem in the description and someone will call you tomorrow. Nope! Signing voided my contract (even though I wrote on the SAME form that unpacking was NOT completed) and now I am stuck unpacking a 4 bedroom house and disposing of all the boxes from an overseas tour. The military was unable to help and I had to sit around for 6 days with packed boxes "incase" they could get them to come back to unpack. My husband has served 31 years in the military and this is they way this business has treated us! Horrible, unethical business. read more

By far worst moving company EVER. All military should request a new company before having these people deal with their furniture or move it yourself! A lot of our big items were broken. The front leg of our couch was completely snapped off and the fabric torn in several places, our entertainment center was broken, a desk had TWO legs completely snapped off and a lamp was broken. We submitted out claim through the website process as we were instructed to do by the military, our claim was around $2,300 in replacement costs we received a check for $720. After multiple times of contact with the claims department we got nowhere. Our couch is 96" long which is about a foot or more longer than most couches. I was told in email that if I could find a comparable one online or in store and send the link or pictures they would work with my replacement, so I did, finding ONE couch that was 96" and looked similar, it was even customizable and they had the same fabric as our current couch in response I was sent "comparable" sofa links that were 82" in length and told that the links I sent were "much nicer" than ours and they would not pay to replace it! How is that comparable at all?! Not only was I told to do their job but I was told after hours of searching they would not give us any more money. These people are complete vultures! Our couch cost us $1800 and they offered $500 from some no name online furniture store, not to mention they don't cover any shipping, delivery or fees included with the price! Why should we be forced to pay to replace something that was in great condition but their negligence ruined?! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE EVER! They are terrible to work with and they don't give you anything near replacement costs! read more

Good first impression during a military PCS move, but packing house was unorganized and sloppy. There was no system for items and furniture they disassembled as well as no accountability for hardware. Upon arrival of goods at new location delivery was rushed and sloppy also. Some goods were broken. Once they unloaded they tried to leave without unpacking. I asked them to unpack and put together what they had disassembled and they tried their best to avoid it. I had to ask four times. Once they decided to unpack for us they lost all decency and became ignorant and extra sloppy. They left everything a complete mess and rough handled almost everything they touched. They took an extra long lunch break and left their food, drinks and trash piled on top of our items they unpacked. They asked several times to be done unpacking when the job was obviously far from over. They needed me to point at every item I wanted unpacked or rebuilt, when they already knew exactly what had to be done. They made the processes as hard as possible. Eventually they all stopped working before the job was done and I told one of them not to worry about the garage. The garage was not touched as far as unpacking and re assembly went. It was trashed. They took that as being done and they all up and left without talking to me any more or verifying that everything was accounted for, complete and moved, including the driver. He simply drove off. Avoid using these people at all costs. The driver's name was Gene. read more
