I called 3 days in advance to see what if anything could be done and I was willing to pay a fee to do so. The hotel staff were nice and friendly about it stating that the owners under no circumstance would allow a cancellation and that I would be stuck paying for the room whether I show up or not. Somehow this just seems like theft if you ask me. I get that they don't want to give a refund, but they are not going to be providing a service to me either and with the advance notice it shouldn't even be legal to not refund or at least partially refund. It's not even typical practice to charge a hotel guest until checkout anyway so it just all seems wrong. I will do my best in the future to avoid booking at Quality Inn

A few other areas around Cheraw in a 3 mile radius appear to be boarded up, closed, and in poor condition. Cheraw appears to be an old town.

He then informed me that the rooms wouldn't be ready for another hour. No problem. Because i was out of town i had no where to go and had sit at a public place until it was time. When i arrived i went back to the window to get a room. I was hungry, tired and honestly just wanted to get a room because i am a 22 y.o. black FM and was in a sketchy enviornment alone. This time when i returned an older gentlmen apporched the window i'm assuming the father.He had a very rude and nasty disposition. When i told him what i wanted he handed me the information card to fill out then he started questioning me in a rude manner about "where my car was? and why i didn't park under the deck? saying "all motels are made the same." i told him i was parked near the steps (like a few hours ago) not to far from the parking deck.He just kept going on and on.At that moment i felt like he was ridiculing me like i was his child when i am in fact a paying customer and an adult. I did not find that proffesional at all. When it came time for him to charge my card he swiped once because it declined,he brought it back to the window. I knew i had more than enouph funds and sometimes cards and card readers act funny. You may have to try more than once(i'm a cashier), but when i asked if he could swipe again? He said "No come back with cash." very rudely. At that point i have been waiting on a room for 3 hours now. On top of that he kept my Liscense until i came back and when i did, he greeted me with a smart remark "Why did it take you so long?". Once in the room we killed about four roaches within two hours. I didn't stay all night like i had plan to but what more would you expect from a $50 dollar room? I took my L and returned home. I am never going back there! I at least could have gotton good customer service, at that point of our interaction i no longer felt safe there anyway. BEWARE!

From the pleasant confirmation of our reservation by phone with Christian, to the warm welcome received from Lakilia at checkin, and the proud smile at breakfast from Cheryl who kept the complimentary breakfast area stocked to the General Manager Roy who checked us out and was asking for feedback, this is a lovely team of happy faces. The hotel was very clean, and I appreciated a jug of hand sanitizer on the checkin ledge. I like their choice of Argan Oil Complex soap and amenities which smelled lightly of coconut. I do wish they had a little bit more breakfast options, like bacon but for overall the sausage patties and gravy was really good.
