I wanted to take just a moment to thank Rucker's Mortuary for going above and beyond with the…read morecaring service they provided for myself and my family when we lost my father. They have previously taken care of arrangements for my uncles service a few years ago and did an excellent job. So, when my father passed, they were the first and only mortuary we called. Quentin and Wannetta took time to answer all of the many questions I had no matter what time of the day. They were so compassionate and helped me navigate through the hardest few weeks of my life. They worked so hard to get my dad his military burial and it was beautiful. I greatly appreciate the service they are providing for our community. So, I just sincerely want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for all of their support.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others are aware…read more I was contacted on Tuesday and told my father's remains would be ready for pickup at the Sanger office on Wednesday between 11am-2pm. I arranged transportation and made the nearly hour-long drive, only to be told upon arrival that my father was not there and that I was not even on the schedule. The staff member present was kind and apologetic, and after attempting multiple calls to the main office with no answer, I was assured my father's remains would be delivered to my home the following day. It has now been over 24 hours since that promise, and I have received no communication, no update, and no explanation as to where my father is. Losing a parent is already incredibly difficult. Not knowing where their remains are--and being met with silence from the very people entrusted with their care--is deeply distressing and unacceptable. I am sharing this not out of anger, but out of concern for others who may trust this service during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. At minimum, families deserve clear communication, accountability, and basic follow-through. I sincerely hope this situation is resolved quickly and that no other family has to experience this level of uncertainty.

After months of avoiding making calls regarding cremation for one of my twins that will be…read morestillborn at delivery, I reached out to Angels Cremation. I had the delight of speaking with Elver. Elver and I discussed my current situation. Before even continuing the conversation, Elver was extremely empathetic and compassionate which is truly a blessing as a loss parent with disenfranchised grief. He asked a few preliminary questions regarding when my Baby A had passed in utero, where I was delivering at, etc. Before I could elaborate on what I wanted, Elver explained the cost was basically the fees for the county permit and a death certificate should I choose to want one. Additionally, he gave me a brief run down as to the process which basically entails letting the hospital know who would be handling the cremation and when we would like them to pick him up and they would handle the rest. I have a friend handling all this for me upon delivery and I was able to easily relay this information to her. I am so glad Angel's is the first place I reached out to and I feel so at ease after speaking with Elver.

Unfortunately, I've had to experience several mortuaries in town in recent years, and I found this…read moreone to be wanting. On the night my father passed, they were superb in coming to get him very late, and they were careful and compassionate about my stepmom's feelings. On this, they get high marks. The next day, however, they were just salesmen. Buy this urn, pay more for upgrades... They went through the cremation checklist with little of the compassion we had seen the night before. Just, "get'er done." They were not rude or anything, but in this industry, grieving people need a little extra hand-holding and overt concern for their well-being. The cremation was performed well, and they provided an adequate container for Dad's ashes. We did not purchase one after all. The cost was about what I expected, and they seem to have performed the basic functions in a professional way. If we had a choice, in the future I would go elsewhere. This is not awful, but not great.
