As someone who works on a computer full time for my job, I suffer from overuse injuries in my…read morehands, forearms, shoulders, and neck. This is an unfortunate side effect of my job. Other than leaving my job, I have to seek outside care/assistance in mitigating my pain. I've visited many different chiropractors in the last 25 years (been going since I was about 12 years old). I've been fortunate to have always found chiropractors that are well educated and know how to treat patients. I believe Dr Menner and Dr Allen run the best office I have ever been to for treatment. 1) They are on-time. Unfortunately, many chiropractors are consistently running late. I appreciate that most run on very slim staffs, often are the only doctor in the office, and want to offer proper care to their patients (ie not rushing), but this often means long waits in the waiting room. I have never had to wait more than a couple minutes to be seen. Generally, by the time I finish signing in and just sit down someone is ready to see me. When they bringing you into the treatment room, there is no additional waiting. They start working on you immediately. After the initial massage therapy (more on that later), you may have a few minutes of relaxing on the table, but generally the Dr comes in within a few minutes. Personally, I enjoy the extra few minutes to do some deep breathing and relaxing. 2) As mentioned above, ever visit you have the option of about 30 minutes of initial massage therapy. They will work on whatever areas will be treated. This helps ensure that your soft tissue is treated along with your bones. They are NOT just a "snap, crackle, and pop" type of office. The total treatment does take 45-60 minutes, but if you are rushed you can elect to just be adjusted. 3) The staff is extremely kind and they all seem to really enjoy their work and the work environment. 4) If you ask, they work with you to understand your insurance coverage and your out of pocket costs. 5) The visit is fully eligible for coverage by my insurance (obviously this varies according to your own insurance).

Cliff Notes version. One word? REFLEXOLOGY…read more About 4 years ago a friend told me he went for reflexology at Menner (think psychic foot massage). He told me the reflexologist told him that she knew he didn't eat vegetables. I was impressed--he's a meat and potatoes guy all the way. But I was floored to learn said reflexologist told his sister she was pregnant--before his sister even knew she was pregnant. So, naturally, I said--sign me up! It's not cheap. My husband got me a gift certificate. Upon entry they give you a survey of seemingly inane questions (ie. favorite color, favorite animal). The friendly reflexologist rubbed my feet...and told me my body was screaming out for iodine. I was like..."Ok. Maybe that's why I crave seafood. Interesting." Fast-forward about 4 years. After years of suffering from fatigue I am diagnosed with hypothyroidism...and Hashimoto's disease (auto immune disease that attacks the thyroid). What's the only part of your body that can make any use of iodine? Yeah--the thyroid. Call it coincidence if you must...but I'm a believer.

One day I walked into by Aligned Modern Health in Vernon Hills to see what they were all about. I was greeted by Dr. Pat, who was very welcoming and explained the holistic approach they take. Dr. Pat works with me on spine correction and strengthening. He is so knowledgeable, kind and takes a pragmatic approach to my care and sends me home with exercises and tools to help with long days at the desk. I walk taller and my migraines are rare now. Dr. Toth listened to my problems and ensured I had a thorough blood workup (More extensive than a normal workup) which is done right in their office. It revealed answers to what I was experiencing. It was a pivotal and emotional moment. She also ensured that I had the right supplements and I have seen improvement! She also set me up with one of their nutritionist to help find factors that contribute to my condition in my diet. Dan is a phemonimal rehabilitation specialist who is so patient. He explains procedures, their benefits and provides tools like video to help reinforce them at home. He notices things that I don't and will work with me to make corrections. This guy knows his stuff! I finish my appointments with Rania and manual therapy. Her work sends me out of the office really feeling relaxed. She focuses in on hot spots in my muscles that need help. I float out of their office ready to tackle my week. Are you worried about the impacts of COVID? Let me reassure you. They take precautions to keep their patients and staff protected. My appointments began at the onset of our pandemic and I was impressed at how well they handled it. Angela their clinic manager is so sweet and greets me when I walk in the door. She ensures that my appointments are made and pushed to my calendar and assists with any billing questions I have. I can't say enough about Aligned Modern Health in Vernon Hills. I am happy to be a patient there, they make it easy. I am and so thankful for their determination to improve my quality of life. I am so grateful for the day I stopped in and for Dr. Pat's warm, welcome. A BIG THANK YOU to my Team!

DR Patrick was great at looking at what I had going on and he showed me some proactive things I could do to alleviate the tension I was experiencing in my lower back. If you don't have insurance, the cost is $100 for the initial assessment, X-rays (if you're not pregnant) and program plan (you will NOT be adjusted for this upfront cost and it will take 2-3 times of coming in before you will actually be adjusted, so if you're in dire need of an immediate adjustment, this may not be the place for you). Once the doc designs your plan, you'll receive a printout of a breakdown of costs. Then you can either pay upfront, or monthly (I broke mine down to a 12 month plan, for $165/mo). The initial cost is pretty expensive, and I do wish you could just pay as you go, but the breakdown is essentially $55/session which is cheaper than a normal chiro session, and you're getting in PT exercises to aid in your healing as well. I'm now 5.5 weeks out from my "due date", and I can honestly say I have less aches and pains and more movement than I did at 6 months pregnant. I highly recommend to anyone who has the extra funds, and is looking to help make their pregnancy and postpartum life easier. Only negative is that on the busier days, it's a little difficult to get on the equipment needed for specific exercises, and I don't particularly like how everything is in one giant open room, much like a gym setting, so I get to have an audience as I struggle to get off/on the table with the belly pillows and all -_-. It can be a bit overwhelming when the place is packed, especially during a pandemic (but everyone IS required to mask up, and they are constantly disinfecting surfaces).

Came in on a Groupon, $35 for a one hour massage. They had another Groupon offer for $55 for two 60…read moremin massages, which was sold out. They have a monthly massage program - $70 for two 60 min massages per month (autobilled to your credit card), which they try to upsell you on and spend most of the massage time talking about. Once that spiel is done, they give you a nice long talk about how you need a chiropractor. The masseuse never stops talking while you are getting the massage. It is not relaxing. At all. What else? First, they don't like the Groupon crowd - there are signs in the front, and in the bathroom that Groupon and R&R customers need to tip based on a $80 massage value. Which is effectively 50% of the price they are charging for the Groupon and the R&R package. This seems very unreasonable to me, particularly because the massage quality is so poor. Second, my massage did not start on time - mine started 17 min after my appointment, and ended 7 min early. No apologies, just the masseuse kindly offering to shorten my (prepaid 60 min) massage if I need to be somewhere. Thanks so much, Maggie. I told her I could stay the full hour. Still didn't get 60 minutes out of the masseuse. I mentioned the shortchanging of time to my masseuse and was told that the massage starts when she walks in the door. No. Never. The massage starts when the masseuse puts her hands on you. Third, the masseuse does not listen to your requests to focus on a certain area or increase pressure. My masseuse (Maggie) basically just applied lotion to my skin for 45 minutes and called it a day. All in all, I cannot recommend this place or the masseuse Maggie. My massage was horrible, the masseuse nonresponsive. I ended up going home feeling worse than I felt coming in, with more kinks in my neck and shoulders (which I asked her not to touch, and to focus on just my feet and legs). That has honestly never happened to me before. If you have to get a massage, this place is about the quality of those Chinese foot massage places (that are actually full body clothed massages) that cost $30 for an hour. You get what you pay for, I guess. Other reviewers have raved about Veronica. This review is not about her. From my experience, though, all I can say is -- avoid Maggie!
