Was debating on writing a review, but this last incident was last straw. Doctor has horrible bed side manners, thank goodness we really never had to see other than my child's check ups. He once advised when my child was little suffering from bad reflux to point it woke him up at night gagging trying to catch breath to start leaving him in his own room and sleep by himself. Which I didn't. Not to also mention the lots back and forth of their office losing my copay info and charging me again, thank goodness I saved all my receipts. Staff changes so frequently, the only saving of this office is Marcia. She's great and super patient and great with kids. I was finally able to find an office who was taking new patients and switched. The office FAXED his records over, a $25 fee for just faxing. I get that's staff time but $25 for just faxing no more than 5 min if that task? Anyhow, do not recommend. read more

This office is over the top the worst. To get a 2 page record costs $25.00 Charged hundreds of dollars for a physical. What do young families do? Absolutely no soft skills by this physician. Denied seeing our foster son. The most negative experience I've ever had with a physician. I recommend looking elsewhere.

We are going elsewhere. Dr. Morgan William has seen my daughter twice now and both times I left feeling shamed, blamed and accused of being a bad parent. Since birth, my daughter has struggled with eating. At a year old, she was diagnosed as "failing to thrive" and was evaluated by five specialists at Children's Hospital in Denver who all agreed that she qualified for a feeding clinic but tried to reassure me that her issues may also just resolve themselves with time. Six years later, we are still struggling every day to get enough food into her. If left to her own devices, she eats literally nothing until she feels sick from low blood sugar. We received a second referral to a specialist in Colorado but weren't able to go before we moved to the Central Coast. Our insurance requires that we go through a primary care provider for referrals so I set up an appointment with this general pediatrician and asked for the referral weeks ago. Not only did they forget to submit a referral, Dr. William literally said that I am manifesting my child's issues with all of my nagging. Let me be clear. Since my baby was a baby, I've been reading everything I can about this difficult issue. The entire purpose of our visits to Dr. William was to obtain a referral to a specialist who can partner with us and empower my child, my husband and me with tools to help change the dynamics of this situation so that mealtime can be a fun, yummy event, not a stressful or boring chore. THAT IS WHY I WAS THERE. I am painfully aware that asking my child to "please for the love of all that is holy take one bite" is BAD and will probably lead to her needing expensive psychiatry someday. I am also aware that if I say nothing, my child will attempt to go to gymnastics class on the 200 calories of Fruit Snacks she ate the day before. I am also aware that rewarding my child with food is bad even though literally every single parent does this at one point or another. I am also aware that catering to her requests only perpetuates the problem. I am also aware that if I spend hours preparing a delicious, nutritious meal only to spend a solid hour listening to her protests and bargains, I'm going to lose my ever loving mind. WE NEED SUPPORT, NOT FINGER POINTING. Dr. William condescendingly told me, "Kids only need two meals a day. The neat thing about calories is that when we've had enough, we don't feel hungry." He assumed that my kid was eating breakfast, lunch and then not feeling super hungry at dinner which was sending me into a tailspin of nagging and bitchiness. I explained that it takes her a solid hour to eat half of a PB&J even WITH the occasional gentle reminder to focus. We have a no-toys-at-the-table policy. Zero distractions. Just good food and nice people. One taquito = one hour. One apple = one hour. One piece of cheese = one hour. No reminders = no bites. We were hoping that some autonomy of eating lunch at school in kindergarten or first grade might spark an appetite. Instead, she just doesn't eat and comes home like an irritable, nauseated zombie. How can she listen and learn when she has zero fuel in her brain? This is a legitimate issue and is not my conjuring. I spoke to my child's teacher after our first appointment who got me in touch with the school nurse who is also a speech pathologist who specializes in feeding issues. They have allowed my child to take her lunch into the school office instead of sitting with all of the kids because it's just far too distracting. I hate that my little girl doesn't get to sit with her friends during lunch time. I hate that she's missing out on the social connections that happen over a shared meal. But her physical health comes first. Her brain function comes before the gossip she's missing. And even though she's sitting alone in the school office, nobody is actually checking in on her to make sure she's eaten anything. She's still coming home with an untouched lunch box and a bad attitude from low blood sugar. What more can I do? Not only is Dr. William a very bad listener, he lacks empathy. He talked over me every time I opened my mouth, not allowing me to finish my thought. I felt frustrated. When my frustration became apparent in my tone, he pointed a finger at me and accused me of creating a self-fulfilling prophecy with all my nagging. He shamed me and made me feel like a bad parent. Shame on me for caring that my child be able to enjoy eating and fueling her body so that she can also enjoy school and her gymnastics. I was willing to put up with the incompetent staff who screwed up multiple times, but I will NOT tolerate being shamed. Look at the other reviews calling this guy out on his condescension and habitual shaming. This is clearly not an isolated incident. I didn't catch him on a bad day twice. You have other options in a pediatrician who will listen and work as a partner in your mission to raise happy, healthy kids. read more

I chose 2 stars based on my experience. I have 2 children, a 4yo boy and 1.5yo girl. Both have been at this office since they were born. I have experienced both the good and bad sides of Dr. Morgan and both great office staff and the ones that you want to run from. Things went from OK to not-ok at the last few appointments with my daughter. My daughter has a mild eczema on her leg and we had been to Dr Morgan a few times trying to clear it up and finally I'd had enough and took her to a dermatologist. At the next app, I was grilled about the dermatologist and the meds. He made me feel like I was making the wrong choices for my daughter. I then relayed this to the dermatologist and she reassured me that her specialized training trumped his general training in the skin department. The straw finally broke at the last checkup (a 16 month) when my daughter fell to 50% on the weight curve. She was a late walker, so it took her a little longer to drop some of the chub that most kids drop around 12-13 months. But Dr. Morgan would hear none of it. He tried to pressure me to switch her to whole cows milk because he was convinced she wasn't getting enough fat calories and I was starving her brain and her development would suffer because I'm pumping and giving her breast milk. He equated human milk past 1 year to be similar to skim cows milk in fat content. This floored me. There are SO many studies out there about extended breastfeeding and the benefits of it. That's when it hit me that I would need to find a new doctor. He is a very "do it this way" kind of guy. If you want to be ordered around by your doctor, he's great for you. If you want to have a conversation and for the doctor to really involve you in the care of your kid, he is not the doctor for you. As for the office staff. There is one girl there that is great. The rest are ok, and the last one we saw was awful. I was constantly asking her to repeat herself because I couldn't understand her. I was also forced to interpret what she meant because what she said didn't always match. Now, try to do that with an upset toddler. Not a fun experience. Oh, and she gave ALL the shots in the SAME dime sized area on my daughters legs. My daughter was traumatized. I couldn't lay her down to change her diaper without her screaming bloody murder and fighting me for 2 days. Needless to say we've changed doctors. read more

UPDATE He still cannot return calls. After speaking with an attorney, other adoptive parents, DCA, and others, it was determined that my son was denied care. I left several messages on Tuesday for him to call me back. He never did. I called again today asking he call me back. I explained that maybe he was under the impression we had recently adopted our 9 year old son which would explain why he would want the adoption records. I was told "no. He knows it was at birth but Kaiser hasn't sent over his records yet so he wanted to see the adoption records for medical history." So I tell them for what seemed like the millionth time, his records of adoption DO NOT CONTAIN MEDICAL INFORMATION." Then I'm told he asks ALL parents of adopted children for those adoption records. When I let them know that I'm already in touch with adoptive parents who used him, didn't like him, and changed doctors, and that those parents were NEVER asked, I was met with silence. Bottom line is he wants our sons medical history. Great! I wanted him to have it! The two month time period from dropping off packet to calling to get our sick child seen never gave us a call to let us know they didn't have his records from kaiser yet. We assumed they had them. There ARE two people who very much know the medical history of our son and that is me and my husband, his parents. If this doctor can't trust what PARENTS say about their children, a doctor he should no longer be! No, we are not going to use him. As a matter of fact, I've come across so many parents he's done wrong now that his indecency needs to have a light shone upon it. He made a mistake telling two healthcare professionals he wanted records he had no right to under false pretenses. By the way, don't believe everything a doctor says just because they're a doctor! I'm just glad we have a case. Really wish the man had enough of a soul to return calls. I wasn't rude, condescending, or in any way unapproachable. At first I kind of liked his old-school vibe, since at the time my two were babies, the anti-vaccine hype was at its peak. He rightfully thought it was a crock (it is), but that's where our positive experience ended. Like others have mentioned, he has a thing about the weight curve. Mine were always just under it a bit. He had a way of making me feel like I was doing a terrible job during every visit because they weren't on that damned curve (twins often aren't...duh). This made an already stressful experience (did I mention twins?) a lot more stressful than it needed to be. The last straw for me was being told that teething pain is basically a myth when we were in the middle of that hell. Really, now? So my kids are crying hysterically and desperately jamming their little fingers on their angry and inflamed gums, because...? I don't know! I never got the answer to that question. The fact that the hysterics stopped when Motrin was administered was just coincidence! And clearly proof of their masterful manipulation ability at six months old. Can't fool us, little babies...teething is FAKE NEWS. I dunno, I just couldn't get past that. Teething pain is real, and denying something so incredibly basic destroyed our trust in his competence. So we left. My thought was, if he's not going to take their (very real) pain seriously now, what other occasion (maybe a life-threatening one?) is he not going to take seriously? The fact that he poo-poohed our nightmare still pisses me off all these years later (fifteen, to be exact)! read more

I really love Dr. Morgan and his wife. They take their time with my son, offer good suggestions and spend time talking with my husband and I. I gave minus 1 star because the front desk people are VERY uncoordinated, unreliable and many times not very friendly. I've had multiple negative experiences where they don't return phone calls, don't explain things well and one time I went to the office for an appointment and the office was closed - they failed to inform me of this and didn't return my message inquiring about why this occurred. I will continue to come back because I really love the doctor but they really need better help in the front. read more

Dr. Morgan has been our pediatrician since he left the other group with Dr Thompson, Nagatani and Bravo. So for over 20 years he's been our doctor for our sons. He is kind, respectful, and never gets bugged by dumb questions. He respects my thoughts as a mother, even if he disagrees. We usually work out a great game plan and have never had a problem and I've never felt like he was condescending (as other reviewers stated). In their case, perhaps they need more confidence in themselves so that a differing opinion isn't so painful to them. Sometimes new moms take criticism or a differing opinion too hard, but it's best for our kids' health to realize that we don't know it all. Being open to his opinion and instructions is obvious, why else go? Also, he doesn't go in for silly fads in regard to health care. I really haven't had a time that I've disagreed with him on the course of treatment. He's always erred on the side of caution, ordering labs and tests when needed and not overdoing it, but still taking our concerns into consideration. He works well with my insurance (is familiar with what is and isn't covered) and makes sure the lab works is done in the best way for me so I am billed properly. My kids like him, he speaks to them on their level, and I appreciate that he's caught some signs of things I never noticed. He doesn't just phone it in. I've been to another pediatrician in an emergency who never even looked at my kid, just chatted with me. Not cool. I do agree that when there is a referral out to a specialist there is NOT a good line of communication telling you that it is approved or not. So you need to be proactive if you are waiting for a referral and yes, call and check in yourself. There seems to be a lot of turnover in the back office. But Megan up front is very nice and helpful. The doctor is rigid and can be condescending and insensitive. In addition, I never before had office staff be so rude to me - not just rude, but disdainful, even mocking. Especially the person who sits at the front and represents the entire office. This is the person who also puts the needle in your child for immunizations. This office made mistakes on a lab request, causing a difficult test to be for nothing. They gave me an attitude about my insurance and then failed to rebill it as I requested. When an immunization wasn't done on time, I found out that they had suggested to the nurse practitioner that we (the parents) had refused it. Meanwhile, we had not been offered it. I found out that the doctor had put in referrals for us, but no one informed us about who were supposed to call, so I found out later when referred through another pediatrician that my child's file was sitting and waiting on the desk and the doctor to whom we'd been referred was wondering why we hadn't contacted her. This isn't even a complete list of everything that we had go on through this office. We changed to a pediatric group and a new pediatrician and the contrast was amazing. It was like a return to sanity after being in a bizarre Twilight Zone where you don't even understand why you are being treated so poorly. read more

Dr. Morgan had the coldest, condescending , judgmental manners I've come across in the medical field. Dr, Morgan did not have one ounce of compassion or warmth towards my children or myself regarding there medical issues. After one vista he sat in judgment of me , my children , and my views on my children's medical issues i decided to never go back to his office. He wanted to condemn me as a parent rather than work on a solution for my kids. I defiantly would warn all parents if your children have any type of ADD, or special needs, all he will do is recommend medications. I ended up finding a different pediatrician who worked with me and my kids and things have really taken on some positive changes in there lives. read more
