So these few pictures I've posted are but a fraction of the facility here. Throughout you'll see…read moretranquility promoting fountains, lots of plants, nice furniture, a laptop for patient use, nice televisions, natural light galore, a bistro which is nice when you're out having blood tests done and need to grab a bite at some point (the food smelled very good). But aside from the more superficial aspects of this place you'll find pleasant, patient and hard working hospital staff. The nurses and doctors are the same across the board, on the ball about appointments and providing adequate care. If you can believe it, I've gone to an appointment only to find my doctor flaked. Its clear that they're ready to face challenges with those of us that are heading into battle against cancer. Or perhaps it's just regular screening (keep that up by the way). They also CLEARLY are very active in spreading awareness. In one of the waiting rooms (I'll get more pictures) there are years worth of framed memorabilia from functions meant to raise money and awareness. Love it! The set up here is fantastic regarding being able to get around. Ever had to walk up long gloomy corridors (literally up as in an incline) after a surgery? BLEH! Not here!! The elevators are conveniently placed and seating is ample. Since we're talking about getting around, I should mention that I took the stairs up To the appointment and down after. OMG I had no idea how badly I need a stair machine or bike until today. My legs were on fire!! Lol anyways, whether you take an elevator down or use the stairs, eventually you'll make your way past the friendly men and women at the front desk, the yummy bistro and out to the pickup and drop-off area. The roundabout thing in the front is much bigger than say, legacy Immanuel...which is nice for those helpers picking up and dropping of loved ones. The parking area is very close too. If you're like me, you'd take a bench outdoors over indoor seating any day and we're in luck, long benches outside. Good luck and syoy!!

For me the appointments are not only pleasant, they are enjoyable and they are down right FUN~!~!~!~!~!~! I have had 7 appointments with Northwest Dental Arts as I discovered them in December 2014. Of these 7 appointments 4 have been with Jodie for Periodontal Maintenance and 3 have been with Doctor Frankel for an exam and 2 fillings. I have had two knee replacement surgeries so I must maintain my dental hygiene to the maximum because falls and infections are the two leading causes of knee implant failure. I have Dearly LOVED all 7 appointments. Doctor Frankel and Jodie are top professionals. I should know as I have more experiences with dentists in my 69 years of life than most people. I estimate that I have experiences with about 40 dentists in several states. The entire staff is professional, competent, courteous, helpful, friendly, warm and caring. They treat us patients as if we are royalty. As a major plus for me, they all laugh at my jokes. That goes above and beyond professional duty. SMILE What is my opinion worth~? I spent my career as a certified public accountant. My career started with one of the eight largest international certified public accounting firms in the world = Arthur Young & Co. that is now Ernst & Young, one of the "Big Four." My opinion was paid for by Fortune 500 companies, multibillion dollar companies, international companies and multimillion dollar companies. These firms paid for my opinions for audits, taxes, financial affairs and all operations of their businesses. Wealthy successful people including retirees paid for my opinions on taxes and all of their financial affairs. My work took me border to border and coast to coast all over the United States.

Really a 3.5, but I'll round up…read more I had been under the care of an OB for the first 7 months of my pregnancy. When I moved back to Salem I had no idea that doctors are hesitant to pick up a patient that has been under the care of another physician for the majority of a pregnancy or whatever else. My primary care physician (no longer involved in OB care) referred me to Salem Hospital OB. I called and was informed that the OB's were not accepting new patients, so I could have a midwife. The inner hippy in me told me that this was a fine alternative, and so I headed in to sign a release for my previous physicians file. While there, I learned that I would not have one mid-wife assigned to me and instead would see whoever was working on whatever day I had my apppointment. As for delivery, whoever was on call would do it. As it turned out, the mid-wives were off on the day that I delivered so a Salem Hospital doctor delivered my baby anyway. Ugh. The mid-wives are very, um, "spiritual". Maybe that's not the right word, but they don't suscribe to the "rush" mentality that you will find in regular OB's. They do believe that babies come in time and that your body is perfectly capable of doing the job in most cases. I appreciate this aspect, as birthing is scary enough as is without the insertion of a doctor with an impending tee time. If you're scared of the idea of a mid-wife, know that many are real doctors and they treat you like a human instead of a medical case. Like the nurses the mid-wives vary in personality and temperment. I found it to be very uncomfortable that they treated me like it was my first time there at each visit, forgetting that I had seem them the last time. The one HUGE upside to a mid-wife is the amount of time spent talking to you about your pregnancy. Unlike regular OB's who might spend 5 min of each appointment with you, these ladies will talk to you for as long as you want and answer question after question. They won't be walking backwards toward the door while you're on your 9th question. While this may make for longer appointment times, appreciate the time and concern they have.

My experience with that dr was less than great. The high risk doctors and others within salem health that I worked with were awesome but he was not kind or thoughtful and I left most appointments feeling very stressed. I stuck with this dr for the duration of my pregnancy and now a year later I asked to be switched to a different doctor within the practice, as I was unwilling to continue seeing him at this point, and I was told that it is against policy. So apparently if you don't like the 1st doctor you see you have to leave and go somewhere else or put up with a doctor that isn't a good fit. This does not seem like best practice to me.
