Hard to review something that apears to have died…read more I can only compare it to a rotting raccoon, hardly any shops and more flies than businesses. Huge car park and huge prices to go with. Would look at home in some horror movie.

It re-opened a couple of years ago and already 2 businesses have folded. The message is use or or lose it.

The other half is split between kitchen-ware, toys, and everything which you didn't know that you needed until you see it! Since Woolworths closed it is quite a good bet if nowhere else has it. Like most shops of this type everything is well squashed together. I would guess that things are about 20% off R.R.P., but don't quote me on that. Usefully it is right next to The Gill car-park with pick-up space outside. The easiest way to get there is up Upper Brook St. from Kings St., by the Chippy Bank

A huge…read moredepartment store covering 2 big floors, with a car park on the roof so you don't have to carry your shopping too far! It has everything from womenswear, kids, menswear, cosmetics, accessories, sportswear, lingerie, home items, gifts, wedding listthe list goes on! It has also brought Warehouse, Faith and Jane Norman clothes and shoes to Barrow in the form of concessions within the store, which is great as we didn't have those stores before. It has a cafe on the first floor so you can take a well-earned break from your shopping trip for a cup of tea - they do a fantastic breakfast for £3.50 (until 11.30am) and a lunchtime menu as well. It has full disabled access with lifts and escalators as well as the stairs, and is always clean and brightly lit. The staff will annoy you by asking if you want to open a Debenhams account card even if you're only spending £1 - but it is actually one of the better account cards out there, as they send you offers throughout the year and have special cardholders days. If you can't be bothered traipsing round lots of shops and want to get everyone's Christmas presents in one place this year, Debenhams will have something for everyone!

Staff are always happy to help, particularly when dealing with disabled customers. Several times we have been in and had to ask for specially served food for someone who cannot eat the majority of restaurant food and they have never refused, and never complained about having to do something different. The store has two floors which can be reached either by escalator or lift

It sells a wide range of ladies clothes and lingerie, but just a small selection of men's clothes and no children's clothing. It also has a small food section at the back of the store, and although the food is excellent quality its also very expensive, so its not somewhere you could do your daily shop. The clothes are of good quality and Marks and Spencer do not seem to have gone down the route of using less material in their clothes therefore making you buy the next size up. The selection is rather old fashioned though and its not somewhere you could shop for a youngsters clothing. The staff are all very polite and helpful and there are always plenty of tills open, so there are rarely any queues.
