How many hundreds of times have I driven by the Tarzana Community & Cultural Center? It has been…read moremany years, way back to the time there was a pottery store on the property. I finally had a chance to visit for a Tarzana Music Night last week. What a fun event! Because the weather was being forecasted to be cool with the potential of rain, the event was held indoors. Things were comfortable, but we were in close quarters with the other attendees. The sound was great and the performances were a lot of fun. I was primarily there to see a good friend perform, but I also had the chance to see some other talented musicians. I think each one was a singer songwriter, and I enjoyed each performance. Each one of the people that was working at the venue, which I imagine may have been on a volunteer basis, was friendly and a lot of fun. Normally the music nights are held outdoors, and I can imagine that most of the year, it is a lot of fun being in the open air.

What a cool place I never knew was here! Check out their events on their website! If you write them…read morethey will write you back too. They have a small outdoor stage with string lights hanging beautifully all around, a few picnic tables and fold out chairs for when there's an event to watch. When the chairs aren't there I imagine thats what they use for the outdoor dance floor under the stars, too! A few people brought their dogs on leash. I saw a few people brought in their own food, chilled out and ate while they watched the live band. They do have a very small amount of drinks, chips, and cookies for sale at a stand but thats it so if you don't want junk food def bring what you do want. They do have an indoor bathroom. PARKING - Def uber/LYFT to them. There are only a few spots in the back you can get to from the side street (not from Ventura blvd) and thats it! So do yourself a favor and get a ride. Lyft must know about this place because the driver knew exactly where to meet us in the back when we booked our return. For us it was a calm but fun summer evening hang outside! I don't know what its like without a band playing but hope I get a chance to check that out too.

The home is on a large corner lot and has a large gated driveway and a very pretty entry way. I met with Arsen who is the Administrator and he was vey kind and pleasant. The caregivers were lovely and greeted me as I toured. The home was beautiful, super clean and spacious. The covered and enclosed patio was wonderful and perfect space for activities and crafts. The bedrooms were large and they offer single or shared rooms. All the residents were enjoying their meals during the time of my visit. You can see how much the care givers love and take very great care of each resident. I love how big the back yard is for residents to garden, walk and exercise. Compared to other board and cares, this home stands out and I would definitely place my loved one here. I prefer a smaller assisted living compared to a large facility because of ratio to resident care is more one on one care. Highly recommend touring.

When it was time to move my family member into a home due to Lewy Body Dementia, I knew we needed something better. We needed the feel of a home that had the medical expertise of a facility. My mother-in-law was taken care of by warm and loving care givers and owners. They never stopped cooking, cleaning and caring for the residence. They accommodated our requests and delivered personal service to our loved one up until her passing. We felt she was safe, comfortable and in very capable hands for her final days.

So far we have been so impressed by the daycare. The teachers are so caring and nice, and they do so many fun and educational activities with them (even though she's just a baby!). My daughter loves going to daycare everyday and she has the biggest smiles when she sees the teachers in the morning! OneGeneration also does a lot of good for the community including a senior daycare, meals on wheels, food bank, grandparents as parents etc. so we feel really good about supporting and being associated with such a great organization.

They also host their own farmer's market which is open year-round on Sundays from 8am to 1pm. Market proceeds support ONEgeneration programs. Transportation is also offered to those who qualify. I am amazed at how great this center is to the community and provides resources for aid. They have a large parking lot available as well. Staff is friendly and very approachable. Don't hesitate to do your research on this amazing center and what they offer back to the community. Some of their programs are donation based and that is important to note so the community can also get involved and help support this center. The Encino food and wine festival was pleasant, I was able to try out a lot of drinks but in my opinion, I do wish the vendors had more food bites. The best one was from Mendocino farms that I can recall. Benihana disappointed as I only got their fried rice. Other than that, very good time, people enjoying themselves on the dance floor and Photo Booth. Would love to come back again next year
