This is a tale of going somewhere new and finding familiar faces…read more Let me start by saying, this is my first "luxury" RV park. I'll assume it has a luxury title because you can get a view of Lake Livingston, they have a restaurant on site, gift shop, swimming pool area, arcade, etc. Because they have so many rv slots, and so many amenities to entertain you while you stay there, I will give them 5 stars. When the area is so well maintained, and it doesn't give of meth alley, trailer park energy, you have to be kind in your rating. I really am here to review the restaurant. This is where the familiar vibes comes into play. I was not aware that Pit Row was doing the cooking. If you look through my Livingston reviews, you will see that that establishment offers an all you can eat Sunday buffet in Livingston. Because I've eaten from them before, I knew what part of flavor town to expect. Overall, most items will be a 7 to 8.5 on a 10 point flavor scale. You can also expect 7 to 9 on a 10 point price to portion ratio scale. My "special" plate was decent. The burger with gravy and onions had a balanced flavor. The mashed potatoes were decent as well. The green beans didn't have any flavor love. You can tell the brownie was homemade. The boudin egg rolls were flavorful, but on the small side. The banana split is made with Blue Bell ice cream, and was a lot. Make certain to ask what isn't on the menu. They actually have a seafood platter and a steak special that you will not see on the menu. All in all, this well kept RV park has plenty of open space, clean air, and good views for those that wish to have a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's an added bonus to have a restaurant on site. Restaurant is a 3.5 - 4 on a 5 point scale, while the rv accommodations are a 5 out of 5. I'll round them up to a 5 star overall. Given the amenities offered, I'm told that the price point is actually low for your RV stay. You can also rent cabins here. Did I mention free drink refills?

During the summer we love the beach area and the pool. Unfortunately this time of year the fish aren't biting well. My issues this time were that the table at our site was very rusty and very lopsided. We had to keep several paper plates under it to keep drinks from toppling over. Also the first day we were there, I could not take my kids to the pool area and hot tub area because there were people in there with their dog running around and not on a leash. Even though it was small it came running up to the fence barking and growling at our dog as we walked by so there was no way I was taking my kids inside. Our fire pit was full of trash when we arrived and it had rained so my husband and son had to empty it out. There was also a lot of dog feces everywhere. It seems no one cleans up after their own pets. I took off one star for the issues because we normally don't have them so I'm hoping it was a one-off. We will definitely be back.

We had space 6, lake view, and it was beautiful. Unfortunately when my husband booked it, he didn't notice it was literally next to the highway. It was noisy, but that wasn't their fault. The fishing was great, I caught 5 catfish,my son caught one as well, my husband caught a nice bass and a big turtle. The only issue we had was on our last night, we fished all day and decided to relax and watch a movie before bed. The Internet was out, which happens, but when he called and told the lady the wifi wasn't working, her response was, "It's working up here". Petty, I know, but not a great response. She asked if we could just use our hotspot and what not. She did, however text us that she checked and there were outages in the area, then messaged us when it was up again, but we never could get it to work. Again, not a huge issue and we understand that it does happen. I work in the hotel industry and we get this too. All in all nice place for fishing with the family. We didn't try any other things they offer, restaurant, pool and playground, so I can't review them. Pets are allowed so that's a huge bonus. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed at RV spot #6 that had a really nice overhanging deck that looked out over the lake and fishing pier. The spot had a full RV hook up with 150 satellite TV channels available. The water level is shallow enough for small kids to swim safely. Two fishing piers and canoes and kayaks for rent to go play on the water. Bring your cast net so you can catch fresh bait from the pier. Dog friendly RV park as well.

We stayed in cabin 3 and it was very cozy and comfortable. Access to the lake and piers were easy and we were able to get in hours and hours of fishing. You must understand what you are renting. This is not the San Luis in Galveston or the Caribe in Orange Beach Alabama. These are small, lakeside cabins where you go to relax and get away. Even at full capacity, the resort was quiet and peaceful. The cabins were furnished with everything you could need in the kitchen INCLUDING COFFEE. Pots, pans, dishes and silverware. There was no dishwasher in cabin 3 but that's not a big deal. We are already planning a return trip for the same length of stay in the not too distant future. If you enjoy nature and like supporting locally owned small businesses, this would be a perfect option for you.

This review is mostly about the KOA, but I will use the state park as a comparison. First I should say, the staff at the KOA are very pleasant, not that the State Park isn't, but everyone at the KOA was helpful, waving, driving around checking on you. They take very good care of the campground as well. The bathrooms and showers were the cleanest of any campground I have ever been too, especially compared to the state park. I also would see the maintenance team cleaning up sites and shoveling out fire pits. We stayed in a tent site, and one of my gripes would be, that the sites are pretty small. It would be difficult to get two decent size tents on once site, without being right next to the fire pit at least. Compared to a state park site where you have a ton of space, this was kind of a bummer. The way it sits now, there is a large open green space across from the campsites, which did allow for more room to run around and explore, but this area is marked as future development. Once this place builds the remaining sites, I think the loss of the bonus space will likely turn us away. The only other issue I had with the place was the locations of the bathrooms. Staying in the tent site, it is quite the walk to either of the bathrooms, especially with kids at night and such. The exercise is great and all, but when you have to walk a kid that far to the bathroom at 2 AM, it gets kind of old. The pool was very nice, clean, albeit cold due to the time of year, but I am sure it would be very nice in the summer. Its mostly shallow, 3 feet on both ends, 4 in the middle, and a large shallow area for little kids. The hot tub is also a nice addition. The beach area is about what I would expect from a lakeside beach, but don't expect is to be like an ocean beach. The water off the beach was nice and clean, sandy, few rocks, and no sea weed. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves, and met some very nice people, and that really made the trip worth it for us. Like I said, if the green space wasn't there, it would have been a bit of a bummer, but it was a very nice as it is right now.

Melissa is a miserable woman who works here and I believe tries her best to make it miserable for everyone else. Booked here for New Year's Eve through the weekend, it was a little chilly but we were especially excited about soaking in the hot tub. Had a lovely weekend until we went to utilize it. First off 6 employees were all in the hot tub, making it a little cramped for campers to utilize the amenity. Second off, Melissa who was one of the employees in the tub proceeded to loudly talk crap about I think every person who has ever camped here and how their "brains leaked out one ear and never grew back" as well as talking crap about just about every employee. Finally after an hour of hearing her miseries we gave up and left. Not very professional or considerate of your paying customers in my opinion. To top it off we bought s'more supplies at the front office just to realize that they were all expired. We love two creeks but I'm very disappointed to see the level of professionalism and hospitality this camping trip.
