I just had my wedding here yesterday and am still in awe of how smoothly it went and how beautiful it was. We chose to go with a Pop Up wedding package. It included sooooo much and made wedding planning a million times easier. The package included the use of both rooms - reception and hearth room. It included catering, cake and cupcakes, officiant, wedding planner (Janna), DJ, and your choice of decorations. It CAN include your flowers too, something I chose to do and they were beautiful! You cannot beat the price anywhere. The venue itself if gorgeous! I am in live with the hearth room and am so glad we were able to have the ceremony in there. It is a HUGE stone hearth that takes up moth of the wall. They have it decorated gorgeously with lanterns and garland. The reception room is huge and has a nice stage. The tables and chairs all get decorated and looked amazing. It is very classy. There is also a very nice bar area if you choose to get a bar package. It is all stone and wood. There is a beautiful outside area to get married and/or take pictures. They have a great bride room with its own toilet, lots of mirrors, and seats. The restrooms are very nice and large so people can change clothes is needed. I don't think you can find a prettier venue, especially at their prices. The catering was by Shack in the Back BBQ. They have special prices with that venue that you can't beat. We had BBQ pork and chicken with AMAZING mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, and scrumptious green beans. The BBQ pork was very good with your choice of sauce. I was told (but didn't try it personally) that the BBQ wasn't very good. For an additional dollar per plate, it included lemonade and maybe something else to drink (I can't remember the details.) It was definitely worth the extra charge not to have to bring in our own drinks and make sure they were cold. The cake and cupcakes were very good. I LOVED the icing, it wasn't too sweet but just sweet enough. I got a mix of vanilla and chocolate. They put beautiful pink flowers on the top of the cake. I was really pleased with how it turned out. The MOST IMPORTANT part of the whole experience was the people that work there. Megan was wonderful to work with getting everything initially set up and managed. Louise did a great job on my flowers and gave me exactly what it asked for. But Janna, the coordinator, was absolutely the best part of the whole experience! She made sure every detail was planned out and ran smoothly. She was available by text or phone anytime I had a question or changed my mind. She was also the officiant at our ceremony and almost brought me to tears. She makes the whole Pop Up package work and knows exactly what she's doing. What a pleasure to work with! Please consider using Rivers Edge for your wedding or any event. The girl behind the desk was miserable and did not want to talk to anyone and was in a hurry for us to leave. The pricing is too much for a two hour time slot. It's not worth it! You get the feel that it's just "give us your money, go in there and do your thing and get out as soon as possible". We are disappointed. As of right now, we will not recommend this place.

Great experience the 1st time around, so I decided to check in here weeks later. His hospitality was very appreciated. The A/C didn't work all night, but i didn't want to bother him & he told me in the morning that any time i need something or if something isn't working, to contact him at the front desk. I very much liked him. 2nd experience & 3rd experience, the woman was very rude & stand off-ish, my stay wasn't as pleasant or accommodating. She scoffed at me when i walked in bringing my son's items into the room like she was inconvenienced by my presence. Funny how the only review here was from six years ago and the toilets STILL don't work. I said something about it the 2nd time and it wasn't until my 3rd stay here (the next day) did she send her daughter with a plunger. Did not help they need to get their plumbing fixed because my 1st stay here with my family, my brothers joined rooms toilet didn't work. I decided to stay here 1 last time in hopes for the best, but that was my last straw because there was an infestation of ants that ruined all the food i had. The ants got into my son's sealed formula container. My mom stayed with my son & i and told me she was bit all night from the ants on her nightstand. She didn't eat so the older man in the front desk can't blame the food that was left out. I asked if i can be compensated with a room or refund & he said they don't do that. I thought the woman was rude, but this man tops her rudeness. The older man must be her husband. The bedding probably hasn't been washed in years i had rashes, however i enjoyed my initial stay here that i didn't let it bother me. My family & i will no longer be going back. Thank you for the stay but no thank you. I hope you treat your other customers nice, lady because you are not at all a welcoming presence. You should be more like your brother, he was very nice. Too bad i'll never get the chance to thank him for his kindness. It was honestly the best thing to 1st see when arriving to Kentucky. *EDIT TO ADD* i was advised to contact the Health Department to file a complaint. I just came to town for a new job and my employer paid for me to stay here for 2 weeks!! This is…read moreabsolutely the "WORST" experience of my life! I've traveled a lot and have stayed in hotels & sometimes motels all over the country, some of the places I've stayed have been in large cities where you can expect to get a bad room sometimes because of the amount of people staying. But you would expect in a very small town that a hotel would have a decent room! Well that is not true! The rooms are so nasty that I won't sleep under the cover on the beds! I pulled the very outdated, nasty bed spread off the bed and went to Walmart and bought a throw to put over me! Then the bathroom is horrible! It's dirty, so again I have to go and buy cleaning supplies to clean the bathroom before I would take a shower! The phone in the room i guess is just for looks, because it's not even plugged in nor does it even have a cord to plug it in! On my 2nd morning I get up for work and go to the bathroom and the toilet won't flush! I take my clothes off to take my shower and the shower won't work!! I go to the front desk to see if I could go to another room to take a shower and nobody is anywhere to be found! So I have to go to work without a shower on my 2nd day of work! When I get home from work the lady at the front desk tells me that they will let me switch rooms because the shower and toilet is not going to be fixed in my room for a week! So I have to pack all of my things and move to another room! The lady at the front desk I find out owns the hotel and she didn't apologize or anything for the inconvenience! I checked in on Sunday and today is Wednesday and there has only been 1 other guest in the entire place since I checked in! And with all of this, the price isn't cheap! They gave me the bill when I checked in and for 2 weeks my employer paid $874.00 and that is with a discount!! So please if you are in town for any reason and need a place to stay go somewhere else!!
