While waiting in line at Bambino, we saw the flash tattoo options on the window next to us. "If you get one, I'll get one.", said my sister. "Let's do it." So then, we absolutely demolished our slices of Bambino's, and went on in. We were greeted by very friendly tattoo artists. They took payment, we waited for about 15 minutes, and then they got to work. I personally went for the Irish harp to remember my trip by. The process was quick and painless. Our tattoo artist was lovely, staying past closing to finish on our tattoos. Everything about the process was professional and clean. If you're in Dublin, come here for a tattoo. You won't be disappointed. It's crucial that you remember this wonderful country. I will be back for more tattoos. read more

I got my cartilage pierced here a few years ago. I was only 18, so I was nervous, but the piercer joked around with me and made me feel comfortable. I knocked off three stars though because when my earring cane out when I returned to california, I sent them an email and they told me to return to the shop for a new earring. After explaining again that returning to Ireland is a 13 hour flight, they stopped responding to my emails. The piercing has since closed up, which is a bummer. read more

Wildcat Ink, still sometimes known by its older name, the more otherworldly sounding Celestial Ring, is probably one of the busiest piercing/tattoo parlours in Dublin. Situated in the (otherwise relatively mainstream) Stephen's Green Shopping Centre, it's prime location has served dividends. Prepare for a mixture of customers, from 15-year-olds hoping to avoid the mandatory guardian's signature while they rebel with a tongue piercing (ooh, whatever will mummy think?!), to die hard fans looking to fill up any remaining gaps on their skin, with a few cooler types thrown in, looking to up their street cred with a subtle tattoo or a fashionable piercing. Tattoos and piercings are expensive in Ireland, with few (if any) shops charging less than €80 for a tattoo. Wildcat is no different, but they can be more discerning with returning customers, and they are very good about aftercare. While some of the staff could work a bit on their beside manner (we know you've done a trillion tattoos before, but since it's gonna be permanent, there's no harm in pretending to care...!), they are all qualified and good at what they do. If you catch them on a good day they're lovely, but if not, they can be brusque and a bit curt. However, highly recommended if you're looking for a good, hygienic and professional place for body art...be sure to call in beforehand, as they're generally booked up if you want to walk in, so make an appointment! The staff are all really friendly and have always done their best to get me whatever I need, even if it means rummaging through drawers of tiny bits of plastic and metal. There's both a tattoo and piercing studio here and I know that the artists have a decent reputation. They also do stuff like contact lenses, samurai swords and eh, replica guns... Well, it's a bit of a weird shop alright, but has cheap jewellery and a wide selection of it. read more

I walked into the shop and gave them an idea for a tattoo I had been wanting for a while (some flowers in a triangle). Thiago took my ideas and took maybe about a half hour drawing up an AMAZING tattoo for me. I got it on my ribs so it was one of the more uncomfortable tattoos I have gotten and he made me feel so comfortable the entire time. It took about two hours and I was very impressed by his attention to detail. His drawing was better than I ever imagined my idea for this tattoo could turn out and his skills are impeccable. I wish I could fly back to Dublin just to get my next tattoo from him. I have also gotten help with body jewellery here before- replacing my eyebrow ring and I was very impressed with the customer service I received in that area as well. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place at all, had a horrendous experience there, both with customer service and then the final result. I'd advise to stay well clear of this place. I went with my friend today to get my ears pierced. We were told that a regular lobe piercing with the earring we were interested in was 50 euro, which was the one I was interested in. We went away to get lunch and returned thirty minutes later with the intention to get the piercing. While in the piercing room with my friend, the girl piercing our ears was friendly. Upon marking where she was to pierce both lobes, she asked if I would be interested in getting a helix piercing, since we did discuss it earlier. She said I wouldn't have to pay for it because we were "nice girls". I was really happy and surprised that she suggested this, and of course accepted the offer. When we got to the till after the piercing the girl then told me my bill was 141.00 euros, just for me!!!! Myself and my friend were completely shocked, we were fully under the impression we were paying only fifty. I would have been fine paying more than fifty, but we felt completely duped by the staff. When we asked about the "free" helix piercing, the girl told us that she mean't she would give reopening my lobe piercings to us for free (a discount of ten euro). This was not made one bit clear. When we came back the staff insisted that they told us exactly what the pricing was. They did not!!!! They failed to tell us that one lobe piercing for the type of jewelery I wanted was fifty euro. And I was under the impression the helix piercing was been given for free!!! In complete shock and anger, my friend and I reluctantly paid and proceeded to visit another professional piercer for opinions on our treatment and also the piercing we got. It turned out that the stacked piercing my friend got on her lobes was done wrong, and won't be able to heal well (it is pointed at a 45 degree angle, instead of a 90 degree angle). We're not able to post the pictures here, but we took them for reference. I will never go back to this place, we felt like we were treated like naive young girls and there was nothing they could do about the fact we felt deceived by them. As well as a bad final result!! There is one located in stephens green shopping center and also one at the rear of the jervis center on upper abby street along the luas line. The staff are porfessional and can draw good custom tatoos, the make sure everything is perfect before starting and give you their time and attention. I still need to get what she tattooed onto my body covered up but I think I'll head over to Reinkarnated or somewhere else. I went to wildcat ink to get my industrial piercing a couple of weeks ago and was completely pleased with the service and staff! I had not made and appointment, and had not visited the place before I wanted to get the piercing. I was able to walk in and tell them what I wanted, I left for half an hour as their piercer was on a break and when I came back filled in a form and was able to have my ear pierced. I am not sure of the name of the guy that pierced my ear but he was very nice and spoke to me while he was preparing everything and as he was piercing my ear which was nice as I was bricking it! I was very happy with the cleanliness of the shop and the staff were very friendly, and I would return if I decide to get anything else pierced or tattooed in the future. The piercing cost €50 which is a lot for a metal bar through your ear, but I was happy to pay it as any review I read recommended it highly, you get what you pay for! :) (the only thing I could complain about was is they didn't tell me what size my gauge was but that's partly my fault as I didn't ask!) read more

My experience with Wildcat ink. As a token to bring to my partner for her birthday, more so than expecting to only pay 50€ for a tattoo I bought a voucher on Sunday the 08.09.13 which I then hid in a box of chocolates and regretfully lost. As soon as I discovered my mishap I called Wildcat to ask to cancel my voucher number so no potential finder could avail of my voucher. I spoke with a woman called Kitten. What struck me as noteworthy in my conversation with her was to find that 3 - 2 = 1 is a calculation requiring several hours. By her own admission 3 vouchers of the kind I bought had been sold that day, two of whom by herself. Leaving my own, though the discovery of my voucher number alongside my visa card receipt should prove insufficient information to let me still avail of my tattoo. During my second phone call that day and after much debate and with manious a condescending 'Honey' I convinced Kitten not to let anyone use my voucher should they come in with it. Furthermore it was the alleged I could have given the voucher to a friend to use in light of my phone call asking to not let anyone use it I was dumbfounded by the upsetting stupidity of her remark. I was told the manager would be available Tuesday who was much more accommodating but also unable with voucher number identified, prove of payment available and money deducted from my account to still let me avail of it. As a closing statement I have nothing to say in terms of artistic still of the tattoo studio but would advise anyone strongly to be careful of its administration. Should anything go out of the ordinary chances are you will pull the short straw be condescended upon for an honest mistake and hung up on still attempting to make yourself understood. read more

Celestial ring is my favorite piercing studio in Dublin by far. The place is super clean and really neat. They have everything really well organised too. The staff are so friendly and really thorough and helpful when it comes to telling you all about yout piercing and how to clean and look after it. They completly put me at ease, and I felt really comfortable and relaxed. They sell body jewllery too, and it is top quality. I havnt looked at much of the tattoo artwork but i hear its amazing too! :) read more

Clean and professional piercing and tatooist parlour - you can find celestial ring located at the top floor of the St Stephens Green Shopping Centre, at the rear. Prices for piercings are competitive, and the tatoos are too! If you don't have your own personal design, the tatoo suggestion books have some very good ideas within them. If you're a fan of chinese symbol tatoos there is a few suggestion pages with their english translations underneath - they range from the traditional mother tatoo to the shocking. All in all it is worth a visit if you're thinking of getting a tatoo or piercing. read more

Okay so Stephen's Green Shopping Centre has probably seen better days, but the top floor is still the cool floor. Situated only a few doors down from Asha, Celestial Ring is one of the top tattoo and piercing places in the city. For a start its clean and shiny - for which I'm giving it major plus points and the staff are ridiculously talented and friendly. They really know their stuff too - so whether your a first timer or a crusty professional, they'll still be able to set you on the right track and make sure you have a pleasant experience. They have loads of examples of their artwork on show and they have a pretty decent website where you can check out the individual styles of all their tattooists and marvel at the lists of piercings that you never even knew existed! read more

Couldn't make it to my appointment due to work commitments and called to let them know, instead of being understanding and allowing me to set up another appointment they took my 50 euro deposit from me and were rude on the phone. Stay clear of this place, if you want friendly service and quality tattoo's head over to the Ink Factory. I went here to get my septum pierced a few weeks ago. I had previously gotten my lip pierced in the then Abbey St branch and got it pierced again to be a spiderbite in the Stephen's Green branch. When asking if I could get my septum pierced one of the staff replied 'Ugh' and the other staff member said she'd do it. I discussed with the piercer that I would have to be able to hide my piercing for work and we both agreed on a higher placement for my septum piercing and I picked put a circular barbell for it. She used a clamp and asked me to lie on my back. It hurt a lot more than I expected and my eyes streamed a lot. When I got home I saw that my piercing was pierced lower than agreed, about 2 to 3mm lower. (The ink mark was still visible). I didn't take much notice of this at the beginning but it didn't look like other septum piercings I have seen. It was really tender and sore, even when cleaning it. I couldn't filp my barbell up for the first few days because of swelling and it was too painful. Eventually I was able to flip it up and found that the bar is very visible on both sides when flipped up. I was really annoyed because I had discussed the importance of being able to hide the piercing for work before being pierced and at the time of piercing she didn't tell me was going to pierce it lower. I emailed the studio and I got a reply 4 days later telling me to drop into their Jervis street branch to talk to their senior piercer. I took out my piercing 6 days after getting it pierced and headed into the Jervis branch a few days later. I didn't have to explain because the piercer there had been informed and he repierced it for me free of charge. To be honest I was really not liking the idea of getting it done the second time after the pain from the first piercing but he pierced it and had the straight barbell in before I even realised it was done! My eyes didn't even stream and viola, it was invisible! I found out the girl in the Stephen's Green branch had pierced my outer nose cartilage rather than the "sweet spot" and thats why there was so much more pain. I was given a complimentary saline solution when leaving after getting it repierced. I would definitely not go again to get a piercing in the Stephen;s Green branch. Even when I got my lip pierced for the second time there it was rushed. All in all I will be steering clear of this piercing studio. Staff are a little rude and too caught up talking amongst themselves to pay any attention to customers. The Jervis St branch is definitely the place to go. They seem to know what they are doing. read more

I've been here quite a few times for piercings and tattoos but my latest experience has pushed me to write a well deserved review for the tattoo artist Kris! I'm heavily tattooed and have been to other artists in Europe but Kris was by far the most creative, reassuring, helpful and FASTEST tattoo artist I have met. I gave him some print outs of ideas that I liked for my new chest piece and explained they were only ideas and I didn't want the exact same. He listened to what and where I wanted to go with it and added a few ideas of his own more for suitability on my part which I was very happy with. A few days later I went to view his design and I was absolutely thrilled with what he had drawn up. Everything we had talked about was literally there on paper and looking fantastic. I made my appointment straight away. On the day of getting the tattoo Kris was very welcoming as usual and I felt instantly comfortable with him just like our previous meets. The closer he got to my upper sternum he could tell I was starting to get a little uncomfortable with the pain and gave me some great breathing tips which really helped me to handle it better. For the size and detail of my new tattoo done in 3 and a half hours I have to say that Kris is seriously talented and ego free too ;) I'm really looking forward to getting more added to what he did and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a tattoo artist with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. I had to knock one star off as the tattoo room is pretty crammed with 4 artists and their tattoo beds but I'm guessing thats the owners fault and not theirs. read more

Went for my nose piercing which they did beautifully. Went back for two tattoos. One they completely screwed up! It was a template tattoo.. and they did one half completely wrong, blurry lines, absolutely awful. I e-mailed them right away, didn't hear from then until three weeks later. It's a hand tattoo, so it has faded and they just blamed the dodgy job on the fact it was a hand tattoo. Absolutely horrible customer service, the lady was rude, demeaning, and not helpful. She was very combative and defensive and was not willing to help me at all. Felt like I was dealing with a child. Beware if you are going for tattoos, I think my tattoo artist was Julie. Should have done more research because she was AWFUL read more

I got a double helix piercing here a few months ago and have been finding it really uncomfortable and it wasn't healing well. As luck would have it, one of the bars fell out yesterday, however I decided to go to Dublin Ink as they seemed to have more choice of attachments. Turns out the wrong jewellery has been used first time again and were oversized hence the trouble I was having with them. I was also told the piercing had not been done straight so I had to get it re-pierced and have the bar on the other one replaced. After this I would not go back here again I'm afraid and would not recommend it. read more

So actually this review is just for Keith who supposed to do tattoo. Went to arrange some design for tattoo..after agreement (which was for me even surprisingly quick) delayed started to happen...so 3 times I was coming there to remind him to do something, with full understanding that he is busy, and each time was same story..didnt had time, next week I'll do something. Last time when I went there, probably just to change the story little bit, he gave me his facebook and said that next week he will finally start, so I sent over his face some more details for the tattoo and asked him some other things. he did not even reply, and after couple of more days I sent again message to check if anything is happening, and of course he did not even reply. After one more week I went there to thank him for wasting my time. So mr. as he says have a life, so can not even answer the message is in my experience a big waster of time..he should tell in the beginning that he is to busy and I could save almost 2 months of my life. The way of his stalling is so selfish cause it's obvious that he thinks that other people who are waiting for him are without life. read more

I was dying to get my lip pierced but i was shopping around for a cheap enough price and i ended up in Stephens green. So i priced at the time cant remember but went ahead and got it done.A blond girl at the time pierced it for me and was really chatty and nice which took my mind off it and as it did not hurt at all i was shocked. I bought after care which not was included in the price as i didn't mind i had the cash and off i went. It took two or more weeks for my lip piercing to heal as the mouth wash destroyed my gums and i got a load of mouth ulcers from it was really painful. When i went back a month later to get a smaller bar for free told them but they just confirmed what i already knew. I think piercings are fine to get from there but dont know about the tattoos yet. :) read more
