My family is from Phoenix and we do a fair amount of traveling. We love the arts and take in shows when we can. We were absolutely shocked at the quality of this show put on by this very local regional dance company. Wow is all I can say. My girls left so motivated and inspired to put more effort into their drama and dance classes. My youngest daughter asked if we could move so she could join this company's school!! We stayed around and lingered after the show to learn about it. My oldest daughter wanted to know if they brought the talent in as it was through the roof good. Come to find out, as we were talking to the actors and dancers, all are home grown there in that very rural northwest corner of Wyoming. Incredible talent getting incredible training. I was in town visiting friends for the 4th of July and they knew a few of the cast members in this show, and decided to join. Whatever you have heard of must do's in Cody for celebrating the 4th or to do in town in general, you need to put this to the top of your list. For a small town, the talent level of this group was top end as was the production value of the show in general. Its clear a LOT of work and attention to detail has been put in to create such an entertaining performance. If you are a fan of the arts (incredible stage performances) and of American History, take an evening an experience the Cody Wild West Show. I am a local and have seen this show several times. I still find myself smiling all the way through it. It is a very professional, entertaining show and I love the hidden humor. I even learned something about Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show. I think it's neat how they incorporate different styles of dancing to tell a story along with the acting. I would say it is definitely for all ages-- my 6 year old and 2 year old actually SIT and watch all the way through. There is a 15 minute intermission with most nights having live music, too. I am a resident of Cody, WY and saw RMDT's Wild West Show last year and have attended it this year as well; I will go again! With every performance I am impressed with the dancers, the music, the lighting and what they have done to tell the story. It is both serious and funny. The show felt very authentic (they did their research) and the theater itself was the perfect venue for it. Dancers/Actors were incredibly talented; it was clear a lot of thought and preparation went into the show. While Cody isn't a place I'd normally think of going to to experience such talent, I was pleasantly surprised and would certainly encourage others to check it out. After visiting Cody (and checking out the few local establishments), I can honestly say this is one thing you HAVE to do there. No better entertainment or activity in town! read more

This is my second time seeing the show.....and, I didn't think it was possible, but it gets better every time. There's so much talent, presented in this show, from such a small town, it makes your head spin. The lighting and stage set really set the mood for the show. It really looks like they put a lot of work into making this show happen. Great dedication from the tech crew to the actors and dancers. My son and I were in Cody for the museums and a tour of the Old West. We decided to get tickets to the show on a lark. We both thoroughly enjoyed the show! My sone is 16, and I am not... What a great show. We are Cody locals and weren't expecting alot - but boy were we surprised. It's an excellent production - even my husband and sons enjoyed it. They have singing, acting, dancing - and most importantly they tell the story about Buffalo Bill and Cody - so we all learned something along the way. This show was incredibly impressive! The story and dancers flowed from scene to scene with energy and talent. The theater and atmosphere (we were encouraged to let out our best hoot-n-hollers) had such an Old West feel to it that it was hard not to get emotionally and verbally involved with the show. I go to several Ballet West shows in Salt Lake City every year, but a show that incorporates multiple styles of dance, acting, and history was a new and memorable experience.
