I unfortunately had a miscarriage so my experience with them only lasted about three months. This was my first pregnancy and I really didn't know what to expect. I would not recommend paying the 6-7k in advance as no matter what they will keep half of it. It doesn't matter if you miscarry and only go to two appointments they kept $3,700 out of the $6,400 we paid. Tina told me that I had hypothyroidism without getting the proper labs done. And then never told me that she was wrong. I began spotting the day I had an appointment but I knew they kept the phone on so I texted asking if there was anything I should do or worry about and the receptionist Alexus answered saying Tina was in a consult but would respond when she was done. Well an hour and a half later I show up to my appointment and she hadn't even mentioned it to Tina. They're too worried about getting more people and money in than the people that they are already taking care of. That appointment I was 12 weeks and they should have been able to see my baby with the ultrasound but Tina couldn't even find my baby nor do the heartbeat. Two days after the miscarriage I let them know and wanted to know the refund process as we had ER bills to take care of to which they texted back "Once care is completed for a pregnancy, your account will be reconciled and a refund will be given. Don't stress about that. Most women are pregnant again in just a couple of months and we will also throw in something for you then as well " which to me is extremely rude and unfeeling as I just lost my child. I feel obligated to tell other people about this place as it is not a safe place to give birth. I cannot recommend it in anyway based on my experience.

My annual exam was canceled with no reschedule date. All I received in the mail was a card in the mail canceling my exam. Shortly after, I became my late husband's caregiver until he passed away. Everything for me was put on hold until now. I needed to get back on track. I called the Women's Group to set up an appointment with Dr. Grammer. I was in their system and then was told I would be considered a "new" patient. The lady explained because I hadn't been there in such a long time I was considered new. I explained to her my health concerns, which by the way is clearly listed on their website. She stated, "Honey, we don't handle those kinds of issues, that would be something your primary care physician would handle." I asked her if they treated post menopausal women. She really couldn't answer that question. Honestly, I felt under valued, old and completely disregarded. I think once she heard Medicare that's when she started to put me in the ready for the nursing home box. I don't know if I will ever get the care I need and deserve here in the Gulf Coast, but I certainly won't consider The Women's Group.

The…read morelast two times we went ( meningitis and brain cancer) we waited at least 8 hours to get admitted. One to Oncology and the second time to ICU for advanced brain cancer. My 6'3' son was cramped into a bed for someone no taller than maybe 5'8' - the appearance of the area is antiquated and designed to make you NOT want to be there. I will highlight one phenomenal ER Dr. Cyrillo who basically figured out my son was in an advanced stage of terminal brain cancer. She took all the information and tracked down a recent MRI and put it all together. Oncology confirmed. There was a horrible horrible male nurse who wouldn't let me come in the back where my son was, until he ripped me a new one wanting to know why my sun was there. That he shouldn't be here. That this was a crap show- and had me crying thinking I had done the wrong thing. Turns out my son's head was immensely swollen and the MRI showed two huge brain tumors and other challenging issues from that. If it were left up to that nurse he could gave died within days and no one would have known why. All staff will tell you they are short-handed and can't keep people. You rarely see the same nurse two days in a row. You have to stay on them to get some basic things to happen, especially baths, food on time if at all, housekeeping - there was one faithful hardworking woman who cleaned our ICU room but if she wasn't there, good luck. If I were rating this hospital in their ER they would get a 0. If I were treating them on getting ER patients into rooms when that is ordered, they again get a 0 - even though we were told there was a room empty abd it coukd take an hour to theee hours, it took 8 hours. Nurses often skip doing their duties waiting instead for the next shift to come do it. Overall! It is a good hospital and there are many worthy and admirable employees we came into contact with. There is always parking somewhere. The hospital in general is appealing in appearance, good security, and great cafeteria! And after our experience with West Florida Hospital, ASH is hands down my choice! But ASH get your act together in that dismal, dungeon like ER! Get rid of the whiny nurses and get some people with some couth.

I've been to Baptist emergency room twice and after tests, they just say I'm free to go without actually telling me what's wrong or what to expect. They walked through a miscarriage with us then when we got pregnant again they were with us every step of the way. They allowed my 9 and 5 year old to take part in exams, finding their brother's heartbeat and measurements. They were there for us during preterm labor. Then when birth finally came i couldn't have been happier with the birth! After 2 unmediated hospital births I finally got my out of hospital water birth with the best ladies!! My 5 year old asks when we will go back and tells me often that if we have another baby we have to have it with Amber and Lindsay! I couldn't agree more.

I've had 6 homebirths, so my expectation was high when our daughter and her hubby started looking for a midwife. When we moved here from PA, I was worried we wouldn't find a midwife as experienced as the one we had for our babies. Thankfully, we found Belly to Cradle. From the first appointment to the birth, I was so impressed with Amber and Lindsay. Their knowledge and experience are top-notch. (I asked some pretty tough questions and nothing threw them.) Their confidence is contagious- when they walk into the room you sigh with relief (aaahh, it's all going to be fine!). Their love for mamas and their babies is evident in their care. Would I recommend them? Absolutely. If I were still young enough to have another baby, I would have my baby here!

I chose a home birth because I wanted the comfort of my own home, free of IVs and monitoring devices, able to move freely, and to avoid unnecessary interventions. When I first met Mandy at 25 weeks, we discussed the differences between home and hospital birth. I was relieved when she said cervical checks were unnecessary because vocal changes indicate transition. After researching and meeting with other midwives, we chose Mandy because we believed she was the best in the area. I worked hard to prepare my body--lifting weights, fitness classes, chiropractic adjustments, and pelvic floor therapy. I was able to run two miles just days before labor. I wanted to give myself and my baby the best chance at a safe birth. At 32 weeks, Mandy told me education classes would begin the following Tuesday. These were required in the contract and a major reason we chose this practice. Tuesday came and went. When I texted, I was told there was a "baby boom." Weeks passed with nothing. At 37 weeks, I reached out again and got the same excuse: "Every time I schedule them, someone has labor." We ultimately received only 2 of 5 classes, rushed during my 38th week, after multiple cancellations and reschedules. We went into birth unprepared and without the knowledge those classes were meant to provide. A home visit between 34-36 weeks is also included in the contract. Mine was scheduled at 36 weeks but canceled last minute. When I tried to reschedule, I was told "Probably Saturday." Saturday came and went, and again it was canceled. The visit finally happened the day before I turned 38 weeks. By the final weeks, I felt unsettled. I hadn't received the education I paid for, communication was poor, and I felt she was stretched too thin. But it was too late to change providers. Looking back, my instincts were right. I went into labor at 39 weeks and 3 days. Upon arrival, Mandy listened to the baby, then prepared a sterile glove. When I asked, "Are you going to check me?" she replied, "Yes," and proceeded without my consent--one of the core reasons I'd chosen a home birth was to avoid unnecessary cervical checks. During active labor, Mandy fell asleep in a chair, spent long periods on her phone, was unsure about antibiotic reconstitution, and forgot an IV pole. When it came time to push, things worsened. I was told I wasn't pushing hard enough. When I said I was, she replied, "Don't give me lip, you need to push harder." Later, as exhaustion overtook me, she told me to stop "thrashing like a wild animal." I was dehumanized at the most vulnerable point of my life. Despite pushing for hours, I felt no progress and said, "The baby's stuck." Mandy snapped, "Don't say that!" I begged to transfer and asked for a C-section. She told me, "You know better than anyone if we go to the hospital, it will take hours for them to get you anything." My requests were disregarded. I spiraled into a crisis, expressing suicidal thoughts like "I want to die" and "someone slit my throat." Instead of compassion or action, I was told, "Push harder," and "You're being irresponsible, think about your baby." Only after several more hours of pushing did Mandy finally ask if I wanted to transfer, "based on how she was feeling." I said yes immediately--"Call the ambulance right now." At the hospital, the OB took one look at me and called an emergency C-section. His notes confirmed a large caput filling the vaginal cavity and baby's head stuck at 0 station. What happened was unsafe, unprofessional, and traumatic. The consequences are lasting--physical scars, psychological trauma, and uncertainty about future vaginal births. Instead of enjoying the first weeks with my newborn, I've been left processing trauma and trying to heal from an experience that never should have happened. For these reasons, I cannot recommend Mandy or Pensacola Birth and Maternity Center. If you are considering this practice, I implore you to look elsewhere.

I was skeptical going into this but boy was I wrong!!! Our first experience was amazing, they listened and asked lots of questions to find out exactly what was going on. They then did the treatment and she was instantly feeling better and booked her next appointment. While there they even did a complimentary relaxation treatment on me and it was amazing as well. It's only been two days since going there and we've already referred two )possibly three) people to go there. We will be returning next week and will likely become a more regular addition to our lives!!!
