Not the best experience in the world. Decent selection and prices were okay on some items. Lots of…read morebikes. The problem is the inattentive staff who really don't care if you buy anything or not. We walked in and were basically ignored by all staff. Too busy on their phones and just standing around shooting the breeze. Felt awkward as soon as we entered because of this. Tried to strike up a conversation with one of the staff but was just meh. Was going to buy a suspension fork, crankshaft, and whatever else I could for my new bike build but we just left because it didn't feel like our business mattered. As much as I'd prefer to support a local business, I need that business to care just as much about me and its own business as I do. Sadly, I doubt we'll go back. No real reason to drive 25 to 30 minutes to be ignored. I can get the same level of customer service online since it was hands off, impersonal, and cold. Sad to have to leave such a bleak review because I was hoping to build a relationship with a bike shop near my new hometown.

I have done a tube float from Murrays down the Hocking River twice now. Both times I had a lot of…read morefun on the water! However, there have been some giant trees in the water that I always seem to get caught on. I think if they are offering a service like a tube float they should attempt to clean up some of the sharp debri that is in the river. Murray's does seem to have a good number of floats to rent if you don't want to bring your own. They also offer floating coolers to rent. Murrays now requires 1 person to make a reservation for a group and to pay upfront. This does make it a bit of a headache when you have a large group but I suppose it's understandable in covid times. When you arrive they blow up your float for you and then transport you and your float upstream to drift back to the starting point. Once at the starting point they just drop you off and leave you to figure out how to group up and float down the river together. Some advice or help would be nice but so far my whole group has made it back in one piece lol.

I'm am a large woman and got stuck on rocks in shallow water more times than I wish to acknowledge. Bear's wife Marissa graciously and efficiently freed me every single time and was kind! I was kinda fed up and my dignity drowned but we got to a deeper part with gorgeous rock formations and all was well. I would go again.

The communication was great throughout. Our guide was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and on top of the responsibilities of the tour. The management has offered a reduced rate on out next stay but due to our trip we will not be visiting again, and I have not gotten any response since. I have contacted numerous agency's in West Virginia to see what my next step should be and I have been told that there is no help available, as it is a privately run entity. I would not rent a houseboat to anyone that was not properly maintained. I hope that this reaches someone so that in the future you do not have the BAD experience like we did.

The campsites had a small bundle of wood for a campfire and they were really well spaced out so you don't feel that you are right on top of the next site. Last summer, Fiancé and I got placed in sit-in kayaks for the first time. Less than a mile down the river, he complains that he's really uncomfortable, and isn't sure what to do with his feet. Turns out they set him off on a 6-mile trip with NO FOOTRESTS inside the kayak. So Fiancé's excursion ended with a lot of lower back pain. This summer, I went online and reserved an 11-mile trip at 10:00 on a Sunday, three weeks in advance. They called to confirm that I was squared away. Then when I showed up at 9:55, I was told they weren't opening until 11 that morning. When I said I had a 10:00 reservation for the 11-mile trip, they said they hadn't been doing the long trips all week. They didn't have any of my information available, or lost it, so instead of a phone to call give me a heads up, I find this out after driving 35 minutes to the livery. Until they can fix their equipment and have a better booking system in place, I'm done with this company. Our bodies and our time are far too valuable to risk any more mishaps.
