This business was closed down a while back. It is now a bakery, I think. There are several new businesses on this block.

A Texas Treasure Worth the Trip…read more If you're serious about western hats, the Stetson/Resistol Hat Outlet is absolutely worth a visit. Whether you're passing through or making a pilgrimage, this place delivers on value, selection, and old-school craftsmanship you don't see often anymore. The selection here is huge. Literally stacked floor to ceiling. It's not laid out like a perfect boutique, but more like a working shop overflowing with options. You may have to search a bit and dig through to find your size because things do get a little jumbled and occasionally a size finds its way into the wrong spot, but honestly, that's part of the charm. You walk in and immediately feel like you're in the real deal: a workshop, not a gimmick. The pricing alone makes this a must-stop. Very fair, extremely competitive, and in many cases significantly better than what you'll find online or in western stores. Not to mention, you're getting hats straight from the source. What really set the experience apart, though, was the service. My wife and I were taken care of by Alfredo, and he was phenomenal. There was a slight language barrier between him and me, but they handled it gracefully, never rushed, always attentive, and they made sure communication was smooth by assisting with translation as needed. You could tell he took pride in what he does and wanted to get it right. The shaping, fit, and attention to detail here were outstanding. You're not just buying a hat; you're getting craftsmanship done right in front of you. Watching them steam, shape, and customize is its own experience. Hours are good, staff hustles, and the vibe is classic Texas hospitality. In short: huge selection, great prices, real people doing real craftsmanship. Worth the trip, worth the time, and worth coming back. Highly recommended.

It appears they have quite a selection of some types of hats and others are dependent on where they have overstock or irregulars. One of the highlights is their hat shapers that can help you clean up and/or reshape a hat to your liking. They are quite knowledgeable and very engaging when you work for them. Their fee is rather reasonable if it isn't a hat bought from their store.

After confirming they were compensated by UPS, I was still charged return fees and given the lowest possible payout. On top of that, I never received site credit for multiple reconsigned items, and a previous credit expired while I was waiting on their investigation. Overall, the process lacked transparency and accountability. Between lost items, incorrect charges, and missing credits, I wouldn't trust them with high-value pieces again.

Selling to this place is a bad experience. I spent at least a couple of weeks arranging with their…read morerep for a valuation appointment to sell my high-end designer bag. The first bad experience was that the rep was in California and scheduled my Dallas appointment for California time...then canceled it without asking me. When I finally did get the right appointment, I drove the 45 minutes into Dallas based on her provisional valuation. The store is small, claustrophobic, and a bit shabby. The "valuation" ended up taking just a few minutes, in a small, curtained-off room. I was offered about half of what the rep promised for a pristine designer bag, which sells for over 3 times that amount at the bag's local boutique, very close by. It was a total waste of my time and, either intentionally misleading, or a total rip-off. They found nothing wrong with the bag...it is barely used and in pristine condition, and I had the original tags, accessories, and receipt. What they offered was a fraction of what all the other designer resale sites offered me. Had I known that, I would not have bothered with the trip...but I was assured by the rep that I would be offered twice as much. The vibe there is sleazy, and it would not be a place I would ever choose to shop. I should have taken the bad reviews more seriously.
