If you're lucky enough to be in the Winchester VA area in June and July you're in apple, peach and corn season. Take advantage. Their produce is second to none and at least twice a week we've loaded up on their peaches, tomatoes (heirlooms too), corn and greens, which are simply amazing. I don't know of another farm market in the area that carries fresh salad greens. They are to die for. They also carry A2 milk, an array of cheeses, local ice cream, baked goods and jarred jams and sauces/salsas. I am going to miss this place more than any other establishment in Winchester.

The chicken was also dry but had decent flavor in the skin. The roasted potatoes were good, the mixed veggies had the taste and texture of water. Realizing salt exists would help with a lot of things. The best thing we had was the Haggis and if you'e had Haggis you know that's pretty bad. There was also no effort to bus the tables when everyone was done. A large number of people started doing it themselves. It is a pretty place and I don't know anything about the other elements of the business (the store, etc) but I would not consider it for an event based on this experience.

There was only one food/farm vendor (probably because it's February) but she was very friendly & helpful in explaining the history of the neighborhood and had a diverse selection including leafy greens, root vegetables, baked goods, 100% juices, apples, frozen berries, Alaskan salmon, and eggs for which I learned they reuse the cardboard cartons that otherwise would cost 35 cents each! I bought olive bread, pumpkin bread, eggs and a bottle of 100% blackberry juice. Next time I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely stop by. I always call in an order so my pie is hot and fresh when I pickup. There are also pies on the counter for sale but if you want a specific guaranteed flavor just phone in your order. The blueberry crumb pie is so delicious, the crumbs are sweet with a KH or crunch. The blueberries ooze with blueberries. I also picked up some Nalls cookies. A packet of 5-6 cookies for $4.99 and they are soft and fresh. There's also a section of fresh produce. Staff is always friendly and patient. Parking is right in front. Everything is fresh, ready to be taken home. I was thinking peanuts, last time they had cans of Virginia peanuts. I grabbed a couple cans for giving at Christmas time. The smell of the pies baking stopped me for a minute...nothing like a fresh baked pie. They're not small like in the grocery store...it's a family sized pie. Apple, cherry, blueberry..too many choices. I decided on blueberry crumb. It was warm when I picked it up!. Ok time to hit the road, I'm feeling like pie and a little ice cream. I paid and was gone. When I was home it was some of the best pie I have ever had. Definitely recommend for fresh vegetables, nuts and fresh baked pie. You can't go wrong. I think the market is seasonal...not really sure.
