Parking is on the street but there is a community parking lot in the back. The museum is on two floors but the majority of the exhibits are on the first floor. The exhibits are arranged in sections with similar items and they have a wide range items that range from cultural to education to social issues. I enjoyed walking through the museum and seeing items from the past from a VCR to rotary phones to a Victrola. If you are in the Dunn area, make sure to stop at this museum.

We watched a 15 minute or so video when we first arrived that went over planting tobacco, harvesting it and preparing it to sell. There was a lot to it. While the museum's focus is on the tobacco history, it also covers agriculture; medicine; education; and general life in the area. Some of the museum is inside the main building and there are buildings outside that you can enter or peak into. I highly recommend visiting this museum.

When I read about an arboretum at the Johnston County Community College, I knew I wanted to stop…read moreand see it. There were no signs up and I was not sure if the public was allowed there. I was the only one there. I've since learned the public is welcome 7 days a week during daylight hours. The Arboretum is on the smaller side with some trees, greenhouses and rows of plants. Their goal is to preserve native species so they are doing good work. I'm sure the arboretum will grow in time and have more and better labels for what is there. There is a lot of shade here from the trees so it was nice on the hot day. I think there are some walking trails there too. While I wouldn't make a special visit to come here, it is a nice place to explore nature if in the area. It is about 5 minutes from the outlet mall.

That time was such a tragic one for our country, on so many levels. The visitor center portion of the monument is small, but educational. Its visual displays cover the background of the war and what led to the battle that occurred on these hallowed grounds. The brief-but-informative intro film (shown every 30 minutes) was a great introduction to the war (especially for my daughter, who somehow managed to get through 12 years of public school without any knowledge of the Civil War). There's also a walking tour with 10 miles of paths available to wander through the many monuments in the area, as well as a driving tour with accompanying (free) audio app. I found the driving tour a bit confusing, but still interesting. We did get out at one of the locations for a 1.5 mile loop walk through one of the battle locations. We spent about 2 hours here but I feel we only skimmed the surface of what their was to see. It would be interesting to devote even more time to this memorial if ever I return.

I love all animals but cows have always held a special place in my heart. There were a total of 8 of us that visited the farm (some more excited than others ), we all enjoyed interacting with & learning about the animals. Our host was the owner, Kyle. He was knowledgable, patient & his love for each one of the animals was obvious. We couldn't have asked for a better person to show us around the farm! He encouraged us to feed the cows, hold the baby goats & pet the pigs. Because it was my birthday, I got to bottle feed Luigi, a 3 week old baby goat - eek!!! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday & I will never forget my visit to Olde Sky Farms!!! I can't wait to visit again!
