Specialties
Wild Abundance offers workshops and classes just north of Asheville, North Carolina-- free facilities and campground lodging is popular, and airbnb's abound . We teaching skills in carpentry, tiny house building, permaculture, gardening, and earthskills-- empowering people to live sustainably with respect for the natural world.
Students drawn to Wild Abundance are often building skills for homesteading and off-grid living, or looking to build their own home-- be it a tiny or not-so-tiny house they are dreaming of. Others wish to become handier around the house and able to build custom solutions and do their own repairs or upgrades with basic carpentry skills-- we specialize in workshops just for women, as well as adult beginner woodworking and building classes.
We host an annual Permaculture Design Certificate Program and have a 9 month gardening and permaculture apprenticeship that spends one day per week at our campus learning hands-on skills. Other classes offer skills in plant identification, foraging, herbal medicine making, and rewilding for a more holistic work-life balance.
The Wild Abundance blog and social media accounts are full of informative articles and tips to learn as you go. Follow us on your favorite channels and join the waitlist for the classes that interest you, and we'll be sure to let you know when the next dates are announced and open for registration. Workshops often sell out through a waitlist-only presale, so it's important to join the list!
History
Established in 2010.
Wild Abundance was formed to help folks learn skills for Earth-based self-sufficiency and interdependence to re-empower people with confidence and competence, bringing them together around authentic ways to live. We are laying down roots here!
Over the years, Wild Abundance has successfully taught hundreds of students in a hands-on learning style that has fostered a whole network of people who walk away knowing how to design and build a carpentry project, forage wild food and medicine, design and build their own tiny house, reconnect with the wild, bring a sense of connectedness to their daily lives in the city, suburbs, and country, among many other things. We continue to grow as a school, but also our student network continues to grow as a community.
