Because the answer was always "no" or him doubting me or making this process of trying to get something complicated diagnosed even harder by making me argue for every single thing. Like filling out short term disability paperwork when I was going on FMLA leave. Everything was already hard and he made it harder. The most recent time, when I called to ask their office manager what to do when the doctor can't help, I got a certified letter from Dr French firing me. Dr French wants to do the basic work and then go home and not think about his job or his patients. I kind of think he wants to not think about his patients when they're in the room too. He can play like he listens and play a good doctor, but when it really matters, he'll let you down every single time.

The…read moredoctors are very experienced and understand the psych meds and interactions with other meds very well, which is imperative for a special needs person who takes a lot of meds. Only issue was upon discharge on a Friday they did not provide temporary refills on new meds to get him through the weekend until the new refills could be delivered on Monday. I had to call their pharmacist to request the temp refills, then they had to wait and get the doctor to approve it, then I had to get my local pharmacy to fill them. I had to call Delmar Pharmacy several times to discuss issues with refilling a controlled substance to ensure the temporary fill would get filled before the 30 day fill. Just got complicated at that point with a lot of back and forth with three different pharmacies. All this could be prevented by the doctor sending in the temporary refill first to the local pharmacy and then sending the 30 day refill to the regular pharmacy later in the same day. All they have to do is ask which local pharmacy do you use when you check in should temporary fills be needed for a weekend discharge. I hope someone on staff sees this suggestion and will share it with the doctors. Most parents do not think about temporary meds being needed. This is the hospital's responsibility.

I called last week for a refill just to get me to a new doctor in my current location I did not receive a call or prescription call in called back yesterday receptionist put another request in and I called again today and was told I needed to get with my new provider which I don't have yet because insurance had to be changed and goes into effect on 10/1. They do not accept my new insurance but I still go there and pay out of pocket because it's ran so well and it's very affordable.
