Everett Park & Recreation - It's a strong design, well thought out despite being mid-sized for a public skate park.

My family rented the Floral Hall for my madre's celebration of life…read more It is difficult to view the interior of Floral Hall due to the limited hours and several classes held within the hall. We reserved the Floral Hall for a Sunday. Five hours for $645 + $200 refundable deposit. During October the rates are $129 an hour. Credit cards are accepted. Parking can be limited depending on the time of the year. Floral Hall is easily accessed for anybody who is handicapped. An electronic key is provided to access the hall on the scheduled day. The key pass is timed to allow guests in 5 minutes prior to their rental time. Key passes can be dropped in the drop box at the Recreation Office on the way out. A $30 fee is charged if the key is lost. Deposits are supposed to be returned/credited on Tuesday's; however, it took two weeks and several phone calls to get our $200 deposit credited back. Annoying. Cleaning packages are available for purchase for $269 or you can clean the hall on your own. Cleaning supplies are provided by the Parks department. Alcoholic beverages are permitted with a "Banquet Permit" and can be purchased through the WA Liquor Control Board: http://lcb.wa.gov/licensing/banquet-permits. Allow 2 weeks to get this permit. Tables, chairs, full kitchen and projection screen are available. Decorations, food/drink and sound system need to be brought from home. Helium balloons are not allowed. Candles/open flames are not allowed. Smoke machines are not allowed. Staff members were unfriendly and uncaring. Staff members were also uneducated as to where sound systems can be rented. One would think that the Parks Department would have a list of suggestions to provide since a projection screen is offered. If a sound system is needed, i suggest using http://thelightingstore.com/.

BMX friendly skatepark. The street section has a 40ft long mini spine that's two feet tall, a solid quarter, some sub boxes, hips and a corner pocket. The center of the park has some slant boxes with rails and a nuts tranny wall that got some super tight tyranny on it. The centerpiece of the park is definitely the channel leading to the bowl. It's got hips in every direction on both sides, closing into a spine that's got a 3-4ft gap on top. Definitely feels like trails when you blast into it from the park side. Combination of coping and noping throughout the park. As it stands, pegs are permitted and since no signs are posted helmets seem to be optional.

However, I've seen people walk to the park without a leash while my two dogs struggle on their leashes because they get approached and usually want to play. It's a mess. There is always ALWAYS dog poop left along the side of the trail that leads to the park. Good: nice run area with shady places. Most dogs are friendly. It's an easy to access off-leash park and they PROVIDE poop bags on rolls at both ends of the park. There is a trash receptacle inside the park, just outside the gate and a big dumpster in the parking area. Bad: a volunteer at the park does not leash his dog, (if he even owns one) and throws his cigarette butts on the ground everywhere. He also will throw away ANY water bowl someone leaves for the dogs. I know it's a rule to not share dog bowls but the dogs don't know that. Willis Tucker, Clark Park and others I've been to leave bowls of water and no one throws them in the trash. The community agrees it's ok and some even bring big water containers to refill. Many people who come regularly do it to socialize with others which is great but they don't pay attention to their dogs who I've seen poop which leaves a LOT of dog poop all over the place. It's a shame that over the 14 years I've been coming here that with the extreme population that has occurred in Lake Stevens that several visitors DO give a literal sh*t.

City workers were in their office (at work on the road) and the road was closed past the park. Driving all the way up to the road closed sign, I saw the turn-in for the parking lot and was relieved the entrance was not in the section of the road that was closed. The park has a variety of offerings including numerous soccer fields, two large baseball fields, pickleball courts abutting a fenced-in grassy sitting area equipped with benches, a skate park, a playground, a restroom building by a flagpole, porta-pottis scattered throughout the park, and two horseshoe pits. I had not thrown a horseshoe in 15 to 20 years (I am approximately 30 years old as of writing this on 24 May 2023). So, knowing I was bigger and stronger than the last time I threw one, I picked up a horseshoe and threw it better than I ever did when I was growing up. Fun to see the decade-plus rest served my horseshoe-throwing skills well. A swallow soared past me and Lepton in the parking lot and European starlings were hard at work foraging in the grass of one of the baseball fields. A worker was mowing the grass past one of the baseball fields. It was an overall serene exploring experience.

Anyway, it's a new park where you can do multiple activities. There is a basketball court, a tennis court, a soccer field, picnic tables, kids playground, a pétanque courtyard, and a skatepark. Isn't it great? Just look at the pictures I took. I come here with my dog almost every other day to go walking around the field and towards the waterfront of Edmonds. I'm seeing more and more people coming to enjoy this wonderful place. Check it out when you are in the area. There are several coed restrooms and are well managed. Also, parking are available on the streets. I haven't had any issue finding a place to park. It's a comforting place and the grass all around keeps me cool. I can even lay on the grass and because I see people do it, I do it as well. It's a nice spot fork power naps. Don't worry, across the street from it is the police station. I feel safe here. Great neighborhood.
