If you're making last minute accommodations for Oktoberfest, you just may end up here. During this…read moreparticular time, there are a few tent hostels or personal camp areas. I have stayed with 2 of the hostels at this campsite. It can be rowdy on the weekends and noisy in the morning. The site has toilets and showers. The showers tend to run out of hot water. There is an ATM, an area to order food/drink (a bit pricy), information area, and a bus stop to take you to the train station. I don't know the hours of the bus, but if you leave early morning, I highly suggest you order a scheduled uber. Sometimes there are no cars available being it is a little far from the main square. I wanna point one last thing out: you will encounter spiders.

I would not recommend this place to my friends & I would not stay here again…read more Ich würde dieses Hotel meinen Freunden nicht empfehlen und ich würde nicht wieder hier übernachten. Made the mistake of booking 3 nights here during Oktoberfest while passing through Munich. For the price the amenities are very poor. You have to pay for toilet paper & hot showers, not common at other campgrounds in europe. I wasn't able to get more than 4 hrs of sleep each night. The campground put on a DJ dance party on a Monday night until 2am. This place is only good if you're trying to get wasted & stay up all night (it should be advertised as a night club & not listed as a campground). They seem to turn the music up louder the later the night gets with no consideration of other campers staying here. Clearly management doesn't care about poor reviews, you can look back at years of similar complaints. They'll just continue to capitalize on people who will stay here to get trashed during Oktoberfest. I was happy to leave this night club/"campground". Icing on the cake was people vomiting in the bathroom toilets.

Located right by the Munich exposition (Messe), in the Riem area, this area works as camping ground…read moreevery year during the Oktoberfest. It is well connected to the city center, with the subway (U-bahn) station next to it, and 15-20 minutes to the Oktoberfest (with a change at Hauptbahnof). During the Oktoberfest the camp is open 24h and people really come and go at any time. Charge must be paid at arrival, and it's pretty expensive: €35 for the car/tent/caravan/camper including 2 people, and €15 for every extra person (2011 prices). They control inside, so don't try to hide people in the restroom or in bed cause they will find out. Also, every time people get in or out there's someone at the different gates to check you have paid. Campers are really next to each other, leaving very limited space in between, and the ground is really hard and full of stones: be warned if you plan to pitch a tent! There are a couple of areas with restrooms and showers, and usually there's no problem with hot water but you'll have to wait for a long line before having access to your stall. There is also a communal area with food truck, beer taps, a heated tent with tables and benches to enjoy food and beer, and a small bazar selling a few essential grocery. Despite being expensive and crowded the place is friendly, as in the spirit of the Oktoberfest, and it's easy to have good time with other guests.
