This is a lovely parish church in the historic heart of Marion, MA. I visited for my first time…read moretoday after having streamed in a few times during lockdown. It was great getting to sing hymns with people, even if through a mask. The people were welcoming. The ushers jumped in to help me juggling hymnals. The program was visually appealing and had a running commentary in the margin giving the history and significance of each part of the service. The new rector, Fr. Eric Fialho, ran a tight service and gave a compelling homily. During a "stewardship moment", a member of the congregation talked about her history with the parish and its long-standing commitment to music and work with children. In lieu of coffee hour, people were gathering at the Rector's home for donuts and pumpkin carving. It was in the opposite direction from where I was headed, so I couldn't attend. Vested choir of 11 people processing in and out. Organ throughout. It was all middle-of-the-road Episcopal, albeit a bit to the low side (the Rector wore preaching tabs for Eucharist). I would recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone living nearby.

I recently viewed a virtual service by the church, which happened after the COVID-19 outbreak. As…read morepart of the service, the rector Bob Malm repeatedly wiped his nose. Eeeesh!
