They definitely had a lot of options for toppings, but I chose to stick with the pizza that usually never misses, which is the classic margherita. After being told how long my pizza would take to handmake (about 15 minutes), I grabbed my soda and waited until it was ready. Once it was ready, I immediately dug in. Right off the bat, I can tell that all the ingredients were very fresh and that it was definitely cooked perfectly in their pizza oven. The dough was easy to chew and tasted just fine, though I prefer more of an undercarriage similar to the way some of the pizzas I've tried in California are. Nonetheless, the sauce and cheese was delicious, leading me to effortlessly eat the entire pizza all by myself. For about 27 NZ dollars for the pizza and can of soda, which translates to about $15 USD for me, that is a very reasonable price and I would definitely come back for an additional visit!

I assisted a server and provided professional support to tables for the duration of the hour. Afterward, the manager asked for my availability, which I sent that evening, but I have been completely ghosted since. It became clear that this "trial" was less about assessing my years of service experience and more of a "vibe check" based on their specific aesthetic. Using experienced professionals for unpaid labor--even for an hour--is a major red flag. I recommend that industry professionals be cautious, and that ethical diners who care about fair labor practices support businesses that value experience over appearances

Every single bite is crispy. Seriously. Every single bite. When you get to the crust, it's chewy and doughy and perfect. Toppings are too good. The pepperoni is evenly distributed and tasty. The mushroom is a veggie dream with savory mushrooms and spinach, you can't feel guilty with these two healthy options. I gotta mention the four cheese. Wow. It was salty and cheesy and with the thin crust, there's no stringy cheese dangling from your bites. Each bite was filled with flavor and there are sesame seeds by the crust, which was so different to see. The pizza is nice, thin and crispy. Surprising to come from a small stand in Courtney Place they are open late (11pm) to fill that pizza need every one has in there life. It was so good that in my short span of a few days in Wellington, I couldn't resist and managed to get here twice.

The menu was limited and their slices both jumbo sized and very expensive, but they looked appealing so I splurged on one. I must say it is the most American pizza I've tasted on this side of the world; the fluffiness of the crust was proper. The four cheese I got also had some tasty sesame seeds. They offer a slice card for repeat customers, which if I were there I might get.

We were so happy with our choice. The pizzas are fairly priced for as big as the small pizza is (we crushed our own personal small pizza each!). I got the marinara with prawns and calamari, and my husband got the breakfast pizza with egg and bacon. Not too greasy, just enough to give you that brick oven pizza craving satisfaction. The unique and plentiful ingredients made this a wonderful treat. I am going to try to find a place at home with this combo or make it myself, I loved this pizza. The atmosphere shows you just how hipster Wellington is. With the large artistic oven sculpture, creative wooden decor, and 'hip' tins holding your napkins and silverware you get a true Wellington experience. Not to mention the music that plays overhead may or may not be the pizza guys personal passion homemade music he's testing out on the crowd. I'm surprised we weren't asked to buy an EP. but it was a good time.

Tables and booth seating are along the left wall, with a large bar taking up the right. They have a great tap list of local/NZ beer, plus cans/bottles, and food. I even dare to say, the beer here is better than Aus. Maybe that's too bold a statement, but I'm standing by it. Malthouse is the craft beer haven epicenter of Wellington. With over 150 national and international beers, this beer bar hosts the largest range of beer in NZ. A full tap range, staple beers and rotating ones all keep this beer bar "in the know" with its ever changing selection. Behind the row of taps, is "Malty's Wall" with fridges keeping beers cooled at the right temp, ready for tasting and consuming. Many of NZ beers come from small boutique breweries, which make them harder to find outside of NZ, but Malthouse hosts a great focus on local breweries. The menu is a beer bible. I've never seen one like it. It's leather bound and very extensive, filled with beer choices and all the information to accompany such a vast beer bar. Seating is cozy with both indoor and outdoor options. High tables, bar seats, lounge tables as well. With food options, they've got the perfect munchies which compliment beer. Try their famous Ugly Bread. Or the pizza. I'm a strong believer of great beer bars having pizza. It's something about cheesy tomato bread that goes so well with beer. All in all, this place is hands down, great.
