I was a patient of Dr. Cindy Howard from 2002-2007. I only left her because I moved out of state,…read moreand I wish I could have taken her with me! I don't know why, but it is rare to find a doctor who cares as much about her patients' health as Dr. Howard. Whenever I visited her I got the feeling that she wasn't just there to treat me, but to help me live a better life. I trust and respect her completely. Okay, enough with the gushy stuff and onto the practical information. Dr. Howard is a board certified chiropractic internist and licensed acupuncturist who practices holistic medicine. She also practices gynecology. Her husband, Dr. Zaeske, shares the practice with her. Their website has a lot of great information about their philosophies and the types of treatment they use. Since many insurance plans don't cover chiropractic care &/or natural medicine, Dr. Howard is crafty about submitting claims in a way that's most likely to get them covered. If you don't have insurance she is very up front with you about what the services are going to cost. She always keeps you completely informed about what she is doing and why, and she helps you make decisions about what treatment is best for you. When I would see her for my annual gyne checkup, she would also draw blood and run a complete blood panel. The results of the blood panel not only showed standard things like my cholesterol levels, but also indicated if my body was getting the nutrients it needed. Dr. Howard would then meet me for a brief follow-up visit and recommend vitamins & supplements to take or dietary changes to make, based on the results of the blood panel. What I'm saying is, Dr. Howard works to KEEP you healthy and PREVENT ailments down the road, rather than merely eliminating symptoms of current ailments. And THAT is how doctors should be.

So I asked I said when do I get to pick what I would like to have tested. You should have seen her face. It was like I was asking her a crazy question. She did not ask me anything about my life style so she can get a better idea on what might be causing my symptoms. How could you get a good test if we are not testing to things I commonly eat. I knew I needed to find a medical professional to help me understand and manage my conditions (both of which were causing me some serious problems) and to address the root cause of the disorders, as I believed them to be related. I began seeing Dr. Trish Pearce in September 2017 and I continue to see her on a monthly basis. Dr. Pearce's expertise in the treatment of autoimmune digestive and thyroid disorders has been invaluable to me. I have followed all of her recommendations, including dietary changes and the use of high quality supplements. As a result, my thyroid levels have been within normal range since February 2018 and are being managed solely by myself and Dr. Pearce, without the use of pharmaceuticals. The ulcerative proctitis is under control as well due to Dr. Pearce's treatment plan and a medication prescribed by the gastroenterologist, who I see every six months for medication management. I fully expect, under Dr. Pearce's care and guidance, to reach a point where I no longer need the medication. I consider Dr. Pearce to be my Primary Care Physician as she employs a holistic approach to my healthcare. I have total trust in her as a medical practitioner.
