They showed little compassion for my cat. They were all about the money. They let me come in and walk out without even taking a look at my pet. My dog's recurring ear infection caused me to schedule that today--a Sunday! same day appointment!--so Petfolk already had points in their favor even before I got there. I use a holistic vet that can be hard to get into, plus it's a hard drive clear across town on a weekday, therefore they are not good for urgent use. (They are also super expensive and make you wait a frustratingly long time once you're there). Everyone at Petfolk--Zabrina, Peter, and Dr. Mary Murphy--was so friendly, timely, gentle, kind, informative, and explained things so well. I felt heard and respected and they gained my trust quickly. This included the breakdown of cost, and updating me on cost as the appointment progressed. I knew just what the treatment plan entailed when I left, but even if I hadn't, they sent a follow up email spelling it all out. My dog is generally quite healthy, but with her allergy-borne ear issues and advancing age, I immediately saw the value of the membership even though I almost never go for that sort of thing. I look forward to the new location in Kennesaw opening in a couple of months which will be perfect for us. I will now use Petfolk as my primary vet, and the holistic one for more specialized advice and treatment going forward. Thank you, Petfolk. I'll be spreading the word.

See below unaltered and very FAIR HONEST review. Any establishment that censors reviews is seriously wrong and absolutely not reputable. I gladly agree to not return to questionable facilities that are not available on weekends when MOST visits are needed. I now understand why most of my friends have left this "clinic" ( notice they cannot call themselves a hospital!) Why not??? Ok experience. Vet was not open to discussing alternative options to standard vaccines that poison the dogs more than necessary. Probably will not return since they are closed on weekends which is the most needed time to see a vet. Too bad for them and my dog.

Before I had a chance to speak and offer my explanation regarding the situation, they were all ready to send me my pet's vet records. The person with whom I spoke indicated that a conversation was had with the front desk people and the vet (who was not even present when I was there). After I indicated that there was no one in the waiting area or in the parking lot, an explanation was given as to why no vet's were available to help my pet. Needless to say, I requested my vet records be sent to me and I will no longer be a patron of an establishment who does not put a pet in need first.

The office visit costs $85, which is double what I used to pay in kennesaw, but hey, HEALTH IS WEALTH! I came to the appointment with a few small concerns with my pup, Levi. Dr. Whitaker was so very knowledgeable and helpful. He really took his time explaining the ingredients of the flea/tick medications and assured me that everything was safe for Levi, regardless of what the "docs of the internet" say. He was very gentle with my dog, taking his time examining him and ensuring all of my questions were answered. I loved that my time at the office was not rushed, and I felt that Levi and I were Dr Whitaker's top priority for that hour. I can't put into words how happy I left the office. I highly suggest you take your beloved pets to see him for any concern or just for a yearly check up. The office was very clean and all staff was just as kind. Before leaving the office, Levi and I booked his first dental cleaning appointment. I'm so relieved that I found such an amazing doctor in my area! However, I am leaving a one star review due to serious concerns about the hospital's lack of transparency regarding billing and financial policies. During my first visit, I walked out with an unexpectedly high bill for what I believed was a routine checkup. I was never clearly informed that the lab work included both a blood test and a fecal test. I only completed the blood test at the time and later found out that the fecal test had also been included in the charges. When I brought my other cat in, another fecal test was required. At no point was I informed that I had 28 days to submit the sample. I was later told by Tiffany that I had received a phone call explaining this deadline. That is incorrect. The call I received was simply a follow up and did not mention any deadline. Now I am being told that the lab requires submission within 28 days, and as a result, they will not refund me even though I never received the service I paid for. If there is a strict deadline tied to a prepaid service, clients should be clearly informed. If the service is not rendered, the payment should be refunded. I PAID FOR A SERVICE THAT I DID NOT RECEIVE. Transparency and clear communication about costs and policies are essential in veterinary care, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

I was about to go on vacation, and my back muscles were a bit tight. I had been thinking about…read moregetting a massage for a while, since it had been over a year, and this business was right across South Cobb Drive from the Planet Fitness that I usually go to. I did check the Yelp reviews, and there were 6 non-recommended reviews. Even though the reviews were not recommended, they generally seemed positive. Since I had very little time left before my vacation, I decided to give the place a try. When I walked in, there was only one person working, and luckily they were available to give me a massage. They had a menu of services listed on the desk. A regular one hour massage is $70, but I decided to go for the one hour deep tissue massage for $80. One odd thing is that I had to pay for the massage up front, however, I was still able to add a tip after the service. Every massage place has a different style, including this place. You never really know what to expect the first time you go. The massage began without the use of oil, but it still felt fine. A lot of pressure was used, but I expected that with a deep tissue massage. Even though I had gone to the chiropractor three hours earlier, one part of my spine between my shoulder blades popped back into place during the beginning of the massage. It must have been out of place for months, and I'm not sure why the chiropractor didn't address it. Various pressure points were used during the massage, and it definitely helped my muscles to relax, even though parts of a deep tissue massage are not always comfortable. I was asked at various points if I was doing fine and if the pressure was good. I've had many massages over the years, and I could tell that the person had a lot of massage experience. At the end of the massage, I could tell that I felt relaxed. Any tight spots that I had were gone. For the next two days, I noticed that the area between my shoulder blades felt different. My spine must have been out of alignment for so long, that my muscles were readjusting. It has now been a week and a half after my massage. I still feel good, and my spine has held the adjustment. I plan to get a massage at least monthly, and I will come back to this place. I would recommend calling ahead to make sure that they have availability. I was very lucky that I walked in at the right time with no appointment.

At that location, I was given a form asking about problem areas, the therapist discussed what needed attention, and the massage felt customized to me. That was not my experience here. When I arrived, I was simply asked how long I wanted the massage to be, and I was charged immediately. After that, there was very little communication. I was shown to a clean but sparse room, and the massage began without any discussion of pressure, problem areas, or what I was hoping to get from the session. The massage itself was relaxing enough, but it felt very generic. Most of the time was spent on my back and legs, with no particular attention given to areas that actually needed it. I teach and train Brazilian jiu-jitsu, so my hands often hurt and could have used extra work, but since the therapist barely spoke to me, that never came up. My hands received only a few seconds of attention each. The room was clean, but there was no noticeable aromatherapy or anything else that made the experience feel especially calming. The music was also on a very short loop, which became distracting after hearing the same song repeatedly. I left feeling slightly more relaxed, but the experience did not feel personalized and was not comparable to other massages I've had at a similar price. It was not terrible, but it was disappointing and not something I would return for.
