The trails and the mile around the entire loop was very easy to walk and we saw a few runners too. The map was easy to follow and fixed around the trail in a couple spots to help keep people on track. You can hear the traffic pretty loudly so that was the only downside. Definitely worth a stop!!

A very pleasant forest hike, one circuit is only 7 minutes, the other about 40 minutes at a leisurely pace, so if you take both you can have around a 45-50 minute pleasant easy hike. Insect repellent is a must, but the foliage is dense enough that sunblock isn't actually necessary. Trail can be muddy if it rains overnight.

One solid wood bridge links the north half, full of hickory, beech, and oak, to the back half, full of oak, maple, fallen elm, and ironwood. Many species of ground cover best seen in May, a real woodland treat. Bring binoculars if you have them, many birds. Occasional sound from Airport which has a run way adjacent to the east. Called Cudahy Woods by DNR and most others, Designated as a State Natural Area in 2002, this is truly one of the best of the best that's left. http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/lands/naturalareas/index.asp?sna=351 A bit hard to find, DNR can help clue you in, the large park sign at chained entry has fallen over and not yet been replaced. But is it worth it? Every bit of it.

It's popularly utilized as a bicycle trail but there are walkers and joggers as well. We hopped on the trail here in Waukesha for an afternoon walk on Labor Day. There were plenty of cyclists out but they were all very polite about passing us (a quick "on your left" and a socially distant pass). The trail itself is paved and appears to be beautifully maintained. The views in some areas of the trail are lovely (and other areas a little industrial). If you're looking to get out of the house and maybe enjoy a little nature to boot, this is a great option. Get to it!

News flash: I like something in waukesha county! This is…read moreprobably my favorite bike trail in the greater milwaukee area. Mind you, it comes at a price. Officially you have to have a state park sticker or come prepared with you 5 dollars to drop in little boxes along the trail for a day pass. I've taken the trail from waukesha (trailhead on college ave) almost to the end of the paved portion of the trail in dousman. You can go further to lake mills but its crushed limestone on that part. I can't put my finger on what I liked so much about this trail...the scenery was really pastoral and bucolic and the inclines weren't too bad. Just a really nice place to ride. The whole trip from waukesha to dousman is about 28 miles round trip. Mama Ds coffee etc spot is about 5 or 6 miles past the waukesha trailhead. See you on the trail!

Such a quality local park (recommend to me by a local, after all)…read more Seven Bridges has nice, walkable trails and some stairs, great for easy hiking/walks in a pleasant part of South Milwaukee. Venture in maybe three minutes and you can pick up the path that hugs the waterfront from an elevation, offering stunning views of Lake Michigan. You can also venture down to the shore itself, there are a few steep dirt paths that will take you all the way down. Definitely a great spot for being in nature when the weather agrees!

This is a very functional trail that begins on canal st sort of in the "valley" created by the two sections of the sixth street bridge. (If you're coming from the north and end up at the roundabout and Conejitos you've gone too far.) It really starts on just a sidewalk so its a little easy to miss. (There's also a loop that goes around the little "peninsula" the Harley museums is on.) Also, for reasons I can't comprehend, a winding ramp down (labelled "hank Aaron trail") from the top of the sixth street bridge, had a pretty impenetrable concrete slab placed in front of it. Maybe flooding or it was too windy? I needed to get out to 60th street and national (roughly) on my bike and was thrilled to find this trail! The start of it is pretty industrial and a lot of it is just next to the street but it worked great for my purposes and provides a lot of different types of scenery. (Industrial, forest, Miller park, etc.) Speaking of which, pretty sure you can take a right at the "valley passage" (see pics)& get over to miller park. It also takes you right past potawatomi casino (more money for the slots - less for gas!) if you're into that sort of thing. Its overall pretty well marked Some gals at the gym came on the trail from the west (New Berlin! ) and said rumor has it that the portion of the trail around the zoo interinterchange may be closed for several months during construction. (Can't confirm or deny this - but just a heads up.) Overall a nice addition to the parks system.

Took this fantastic trail from the Milwaukee Public Market to West Allis, almost 10 years ago…read more Hadn't been back on it until a few weeks ago. We walked all around with our dog. This is just an outstanding feature in a city that caters more to cars than anything else. Such a great addition to Miller Valley, where there is so much industrial history. I see the effort that had been made to involve the immediate community in building and growing this trail and surrounding areas. Now that I live nearby, I'll be here for the Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup.

Beautiful well maintained park that will serve you well for a picnic (lots of tables, many in the…read moreshade), a walk (nice easy hiking trail), a bike ride (a paved path runs through it) or long board ride, baseball or softball game, there's a playground, and a parking lot. Maybe it's just the couple times I've been here but more than half the patrons were South Asian making me feel at home, but all in all not crowded so I could take a solitary stroll. It's right near some shopping, shopping stresses me out, so that's why I've been here a couple of times.

Lime Kiln Park - A Hidden Gem in Menomonee Falls…read more We took a hike through Lime Kiln Park today and absolutely loved it! Tucked away in Menomonee Falls, this park feels like a peaceful little escape with just the right mix of nature, history, and fresh air. We explored both the upper and lower falls, and the views did not disappoint--especially with the sound of the rushing water and all the lush greenery around us. The trails are paved and easy to follow, which made our walk feel more like a relaxing stroll than a workout. There's something really cool about walking past the historic lime kilns--like you've stepped back in time for a moment. Between the rock formations, bridges, and little scenic spots to pause and take it all in, we found ourselves stopping often just to appreciate the beauty around us. It's the kind of place where you can go for a walk, clear your head, or bring the family for a peaceful afternoon. We even saw a few people playing disc golf and lots of birds hanging out near the water. If you haven't been yet, Lime Kiln Park is totally worth the visit. Bring your walking shoes, your camera, and a little curiosity--you'll leave refreshed and maybe even a bit inspired.

I'm a sucker for nature and Kletzsch park left me feeling no less awe. I've hiked around this area…read moremore than a few times since moving to Milwaukee forever ago. Kletzsch is particularly stunning as it has a large damn that many people fish in. It's also a great launching point for kayak's and canoes to head up or down the Milwaukee River. We enjoy walking the pooch and pushing through the woods down over near the massive spans of park in that area. Either way it's just a serene and casual walk where you can hear the sound of rushing water. This section of the Milwaukee river is quite high right now. It's amazing to note the changes in land mass that the river engulfs in comparison to drier times. I've even ventured out below the railroad tracks that pass over the river just down from the damn a ways. Nature at it's best on the outskirts of the great city I call home, Milwaukee!

I did learn that if you're a young girl alone asking your Lyft driver to leave you at the park when it's covered in snow it will draw red flags and you'll have the cops looking for you. Mainly wondering why you're wandering the park completely alone. Lol Made for good memories and should that Wisconsin people are very nice and caring compared to other places. Hopefully I'll get to come back to this Park when it's not completely covered in snow and I can freely explore.
