I took the kids here on a saturday morning for the early showings of kids films from a few months…read moreback. Means the kids get in for £1 each Have Cineworld made the decision to leave all heating off on these mornings as we are only paying £1 per person? Does the cheaper showings mean we all have to get pneumonia? People in the theatre where literally blowing icy clouds from their mouths and all the children where complaining of cold. never mind the kids.. we adults were too. We had to sit in coats and scarfs the entire film... the kids didn't want a coke.. they were asking for hot tea to warm them up! ( lol) ok.. that's a fabrication.. but a cup of tea to pour on our frozen paws would have been nice!# Couldn't wait to get out of there. Would NEVER go again...! This is just this cinema.. we have been to the St.Helens cineworld of a saturday morning too.. and we didn't catch colds sitting in there ;-)

Since the Odeon closed in Chester ( I'm still too upset to talk about that ) this is one of the…read moremain cinema's left in the Chester area. It's a fair size, on the greyhound retail park next to the tenpin bowling centre, so there's plenty for families to do if not everyone wants to watch a film. As with all cinemas these days the sweets and other confectionary are SO expensive but they're getting more strict on what you try and sneak in these days so you either need to be more careful, go without, or hope the kids pick the cheapest sweets available. As stated, it's a fairly big cinema with plenty of screens so you tend to find a decent amount of showings for the more popular and newest films. However, in doubt i would pre-book !! Whilst their little automatic pre-booking machines don't always work, the staff are really helpful to try and sort out any problems. These days for an adult and child's ticket it is £10 unless you are watching an evening movie and then it's an extra £1 for some reason. They only have two people on tills at the entrance which isn't enough for just before the films start since they're so busy and everyone seems to pay with cards these days so that takes even longer. However, the cinema itself seems fairly clean and tidy and offer various things to help the kids and adults pass the time until the next film, and they also have booster seats for those times when the little ones need a little boost or when an adult comes and sits in front of a 3 year old, even though there are plenty of other seats available !! All in all, it's a decent cinema considering the Odeon has now closed and there's not much else, but unless you drive, know the bus timetable or are willing to pay for a taxi it's a bit of a pain to get too since it's out of the main city centre. That said, there's a park and ride down the road which helps if you like to travel into Chester on public transport.

When you blindfold yourself, do things cease to exist just because you cant see them? There are…read moreundoubtedly things which are and will always remain unexplained. If history has taught us anything, it's that the more we find out about the world around us the less we know. Arrogance in our "knowledge" of the world makes us rather redundent when it comes to a phenomenon that is as old as time. Ghosts, Spirits, Poltergeists................ Thus despite the idea of ghosts or paranormal activity being dumbed down through film, the idea in its simplicity chills us to the core. Whether we like it or not or whether we choose to or not. Chester is however arguably the most haunted place on this Island of ours. I remember my first ever trip there and I had no idea that it was infact the most haunted place in the country. Yet I do remember walking the walls of the city thinking, I would NOT like to be walking around here at night!!!!!! Whether you go on the ghost tour or not I urge you to read a plethora of stories/events that have been documented here. Let me tell you I've read a few, and it did send a few chills down my spine as I recalled some of my visits. In fact as I write this an uneasy feeling washes over me. The story of Sarah who frequents a chocolate shop which stands to this day has haunted me from the moment I read it. Why do these stories have so much power over us? The mind boggles. So if you are a horror film fan like me. Don't bother with the next blockbuster. Go on their website read a few stories and if you dare go on one of the ghost tours which happens every saturday night 7:30, lasting an hour & half. Better still why don't you arrange a tour of your own, the geography of ghost sightings is no secret. Why not walk the walls yourself around midnight?? I dare you, I double dare you!!!!!!!
