Nas was totally fine with it, though, and didn't charge me to take a look. Based on the volume of cars in the lot, I thought it would be all day before I'd hear anything, but he got back to me pretty quickly, let me know I needed a new compressor, and gave me a quote. Finding the needed part online at a better price, I called him back, and he was happy to just charge me for the work if I brought in the part. When I did bring it in about a week later, it so happened that my tire had sprung a leak the day before too, so he fixed both issues and put everything back nicely in its place. I appreciate his honesty and skill in his trade, as well as the reasonable rates. I'll likely bring my car back for future service!

It at least is against him as a collection/lean so hopefully no one will give him credit for a loan until it's paid. I should have known when he kept asking to be paid in cash.
