It was the third weekend in July and the blueberries were very good, but the raspberries were definitely picked over. Overall, the bushes were not as well kept as some other berry picking places we've been to - I ended up with some pretty nasty scratches on my legs from overgrown raspberry bushes.

We love touring the Children's Museums in Wisconsin. Today,…read moreWe decided to drive the hour and 15 minutes to go to the one in Stevens point, since we had never been there before. There were definite pros and cons. First the Pros: -It was only $5 a person to get in. -Parking around the area is free. -Everything is on one level, and that makes it easy to keep track of your kids. -The exhibits are different than the other museums. -The art area has so much to do, creatively is endless with all the different supplies available. (Paper, paint, tissue paper, cardboard cones, cardboard tubes, paper clips, yarn, plastic pieces, buttons, puzzle pieces... etc) Now the cons: -The super fun music instruments area will give you a migraine from kids constantly beating the drums. -The bathrooms were very dirty, as was the bubbler drinking fountain... the water also tasted super metallic. -The cleanliness of the whole place was actually lacking in every area. The floors appeared to have not been mopped in...forever. -The dental center that we were excited to play with was the most disappointing. Most things were broken, and there weren't any tools or anything to incorporate during play. -The vet area is a great concept but also lacked so much. -Staff was not overly friendly, as with other places...they weren't mean or anything, but they just all seemed very bored. My boys favorite parts were the "healthy heroes" And the Newscaster studio (which even the newscaster area could have been revamped to make it even better. My favorite part was the art station. We actually spent an hour and a half in there creating our crafts and masterpieces. So all in all, we enjoyed our time here. We wish things were fixed up, cleaned, and had accessories added to the exhibits, but for a small town children's museum, it was a good way to spend a day. Not one of our favorites tho, by any means.

Hollywood Stars even make appearances too, this year I met Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl from television and movie fame. Both were very down to earth. When asking Linda Purl about her new book "A Peak Behind the Curtain", she mistook what I asked and interpreted it as saying something about her having a nice butt. After an awkward moment and good laugh we spoke about Patrick and her possibly appearing together in a Hallmark Movie. At the moment none is in the works and hopefully someone from Hallmark reads my review and makes it happen. The show takes place on over 300 acres! They offer school bus service to and from the parking lots to the show. I would recommend taking at least two day to take in the car show. What makes the so great are the people. Dedicated volunteers and those that make the trek to share their amazing vehicles with us.

Plus, it really is about the company you're there with! I'm always there with really fun people who know their cars and can tell me what I need to know. Since we have to travel from out of state and like to spend time in Milwaukee. So, we typically only attend one day of the show, and it's usually Thursday when it's not as chaotic. A multi million dollar renovation several years back has elevated this course to an elite status. We've hosted the WSGA State open several times. Stricker won the last one here in 2000 in a very tight match on the 18th hole. Talk is it'll be back soon. Last year we held a USGA Senior Open qualifier to rave reviews. No player broke par. I asked about 30 players about the course and everyone of them congratulated us on the conditions and fair and challenging layout. Ride or not. Walking the course is a great experience too, even if you're in your 70s! Tee it up! Try the pizza or Ahi tuna bowl. You too will also enjoy this true jewel! MTR 1804

I came to see some friends that were playing in a band when they were just finishing up. After I had been sitting a chatting for a little bit I asked the bartender if they were still serving because I didn't want to be rude and sit around and not buy anything if they were. Then he proceeded to rudely tell me that they were done I should get out and I had to take my food (I had just picked up a sub). I'm fine with a bar not see if or allowing food, but I'm not fine with the way he talked to me like I was stupid. When I asked why he was so rude to me he told be to get my ratchet ass out. I have never in my life been called ratchet, I've never had an issue with any bartenders.
