We signed up earlier this year for both paid search and organic search. Noticed a sharp decline in sales but decided to persist and give them a chance. After about 6 mths, we could no longer handle the deafening silence from the slowness in business and we quickly switched back to our old agency. We very rapidly saw an increase again. I felt like an absolute fool for switching just because they were a little cheaper. At that time, we also cancelled SEO but they persuaded us to stay for a little longer because SEO does take longer to see results. Like the fool that I was, I agreed. After yet another 2 to 3 months, the results were the same, basically no results. So I cancelled as I really did not want them to do anything else for us. I feel like they are just basically "shuffling papers." They told me they had to charge our card one more time due to their 15 day cancellation policy even if they don't do anything else for the next month. I told them that they should reconsider that decision, being that we saw not just no results but negative results from our paid search, and zero results from SEO. We wasted almost 1 year of time and fees with them. They were unrelenting, so I said if you charge us, I will post this review of our experience with them. I hired this company for four months. They not only wasted our time with weekly calls that focused on technicalities to distract from the fact that not a single campaign out of 6 actually converted. I spent over $1500 a month on ads that did nothing. We are a wellness center and the advertised for cleaning and disinfection. I honestly cannot stress that this experience was a total scam. They send monthly reports with dead links so you can't review the data. They failed to understand our services or products and didn't do research on keywords and searches to target the audience. After signing on you will be directed to an account rep that lives in Columbia with English as a second language who just puts up campaigns with Google's automated campaign settings anyway. I have used White Shark Media as our Google Ads vendor for the last 5 months and thus far it has been an excellent experience. White Shark is the 3rd Google ads vendor I've had the pleasure of working with over the last 3 years. I can easily say they have been by and large the best of those three. After a long and stale sales speech, I looked up their reviews and asked them why they only have 1 star reviews on Yelp. And the competition was still hot. Seven months ago White Shark Media got right to work. It wasn't easy for them due to the new locale and it took some time to get ahead but they did it. My PPC is in line with both my budget and my realized clients. Obviously, they stay in touch with me, making adjustments as my goals are realized and new ones are formulated. For instance, my company was briefly shut down by Hurricane Irma. They allowed me to regroup and start fresh with new Keywords and a killer PPC program. I've seen many internal improvements with White Shark Media to the point where I don't worry about the next month's business - I'm taking care of my current clients. We are a small business and do not have someone specially for internet advertising, so I asked him if he had any message to leave for the business owner. He just repeated his name and his number. At this point I was slightly confused and asked him if there was any message at all. He just repeated his desire to speak with the google ad words manager. This interaction basically left me confused and frustrated. If I were interested in hiring a company to run advertising for my business, wouldn't I be the one contacting them? My experience with White Shark is kind of conflicting. On one hand, I feel like my client and I have definitely had more negative experiences with them than we should have. This includes installing plugins into our website without asking, increasing our budget without asking, and missing a call planned out weeks in advance because they were "closed", even though I'd received an email from our rep that morning. ON THE OTHER HAND - our current team is fantastic. We were working with an individual at White Shark that was costing us hundreds - after switching to our new team, we've got a decent ROI of around 10-13. Johnathan and Rebecca have been great about listening to our concerns, and going above and beyond to make sure that our seasonal business is getting as much exposure as we can in our short window of availability. We've definitely had to push them a bit at times, but they have risen to the challenges and have been really great. So I guess it's a toss up. I would definitely believe the poorer reviews and take them into consideration, but I've also worked with truly brilliant people at White Shark that have done their job excellently. Working with this company for nearly a year, I am angry with them. First, they often do not return phone calls. In the last three interactions, they are supposed to call me and they did not. I have to call them. Second, they try to find all the reasons to raise their prices. A pause of my campaign triggered a new set up fee and 25% fee increase. It is simply wrong and dumb as well. White Shark Media is a joke. I opened up our ad groups and found that about 90% of our keywords were generating no sales while costing us thousands. I ran some simple formulas in excel, took me 5 minutes, and easily identified the keywords that needed to be eliminated. Our ROI increased 3 fold. I learned Adwords on my own and somehow these "experts" couldn't do a simple keyword analysis. Andrew even had the audacity to tell me that "bounce rate" was a secondary metric and shouldn't be part of initial consideration. Is that a joke? Bounce rate is a key measure to success in Adwords. I guess it's easy not to care when it is someone else's money. They will use irrelevant metrics and comparisons to convince you that they are doing well but you will most likely lose money using them. read more

I really hope they can succeed with other businesses as I think they do mean well, but with our eCommerce shop we spend copious amounts of money with Whiteshark for negligible return. I had previously done in-house PPC for our online shop but had other things come up that were keeping me from being on top of our Adwords Shopping campaign. When paying for advertising it's all about numbers and here's a snapshot for you to think about and talk with them before signing on... I just checked stats for our last month that we were with Whiteshark and we were at a whopping $124.77/conversion. Yikes. Anyway, after going back at the campaign myself we're back down to $6.52/conversion which actually allows us to make a profit. Again, they may be great for certain campaign types but I'd recommend making sure they're familiar with your industry or you could end up throwing away money like we did. read more

If you're going to call people doing PPC to somehow earn their business, I would start with NOT clicking the ad in which you found them. We have a sophisticated system that led a $34 click back to white shark and a salesman who approaches the call with "Hi, this is Nino from white shark, your partner with google." You just charged us to cold call us. Additionally, this pitch is designed to confuse the people who don't know any better. If your first interaction with a company is dripping in deceit, what's that to say about actually working with the company. I will be forwarding this recorded call over to google, I'm sure they have ethics to adhere to for their "Premier Google Partners", otherwise the moniker carries no weight. I have been working with WSM for not quite a year and a half and am overall very pleased with the service provided. I used to manage the ads myself, but it is rather overwhelming to keep up with everything and it's great to have someone to optimize the account and take care of the updates. The company that I manage is very niche but they do a good job trying to understand the peculiarities of the industries I work in. When I had a rep that I didn't get along with, I asked for a change and was immediately given a different rep who was much better suited to manage the account. Pros: - Generally very responsive and friendly agents - Reports about ad performance are detailed and complete - Information about optimizations is provided regularly - Agents are available by phone when needed to discuss deeper issues - Everyone seems to be genuinely interested in improving the performance of the campaigns - Price is reasonable Cons: - In the 16 months of my relationship with WSM, we have already cycled through 4 managing reps (only 1 of which I asked for). The hand-offs have been smooth, but it does feel like a step back sometimes to have to get re-acquainted with a new primary contact. Or sometimes the new person does something that you already had gone over with the old person why that shouldn't be done, and you have to explain it again. - There have been a few gaps in contact, but generally things get back on track pretty quickly. I would worry that someone less hands-on might let things slide and not get their money's worth. ("The squeaky wheel gets the grease.") Overall, though, I think that WSM offers a good service at a fair price. They have worked well for me. read more

Based solely on their cold call approach, you should steer clear of this company. Their script gives you the impression that they already have access to your Google AdWords account, and they're "just calling to go over some of the metrics." When I pointed out they don't have access to my account, the rep tried to explain they were a Google Certified Partner, again, giving the impression that that somehow grants them a pass into my account. It doesn't - I've been a Google Certified Partner. When I called him out on this, he explained that his "tools" could tell we had low quality scores (false), and that we receive unrelated impressions (always a possibility, but we have nearly 100,000 negative keywords across the whole account, so...). Working with WSM initially was very impressive. Their promise to learn our products to better leverage our ad spending sounded great. I loved the idea of someone other than myself working on my ads. Almost immediately after signing up the peak of communication was reached and everything started to slowly go downhill. All of a sudden after only a few months as a customer emails were taking a week or more to get back to me. I was also very displeased with the lack of growth and improvement in my ad words account. Since WSM creates a new adwords account 'from scratch', they had total access to my previous adwords account for data analysis and comparison. My previous adwords account had been running over 3 years, so loads of great data. Never once did WSM even come close to the average performance of my self managed adwords account. I am no adwords pro, I learned everything from trial an error and through reading online. These guys are supposed to be experts and don't actually seem to know as much as they let on based on the performance I have seen. I watched closely how many changes they were performing both automated and non-automated within my account and there was very very very little done that was not automated. I never saw the personal touch I was promised. Ultimately it was their deceitful actions that led to my canceling the service. I expressed that I was displeased with the conversion rate and set a deadline to improve it before I cancel. WSM responded by changing how conversions were tracking on my site to combine phone calls from adds with customers who placed online orders. This was a clear cut attempt to behind the curtain make the numbers appear better than they actually were. I cut ties immediately upon discovering this. They even tried to tell me that they could not have done that, I have screen shots of the adwords change log and of the change log on my website where they updated tracking codes, so I tend to believe my eyes. WSM over promises and doesn't deliver. I would say under deliver, but they just don't deliver. I was promised that we wouldn't go below 50 leads/month and by 2 months after start, we'd be at 100. They showed me and told me all of these ways they were going to do it, and as a marketing generalist, I understood and agreed. They didn't do anything. We had several account managers and several engineers. They're all young and none of them seem to know what they are doing. Not only that, but they were posting ads that contained our competitors names without approval, which came to our attention through a competitor (with many others copied!). I spoke to the CEO and he connected me to another that was supposed to be the best to put together a "strategy." Well, she didn't. I really have no idea where to start and tell other businesses to stay away. My review on the BBB and earlier on Yelp made them call me and "want to rewrite history". I was very suspicious because everyone I dealt with has been full of BS and still is. I was the business that had a 17 years old business and had been doing adwords myself for the last 10. I had them make a website that was a copy of an old website because their website (designers) could not give me a new site that would function as my old site. My adwords was awful and I wish I could post the graph from adwords just to proof the fall my entire business experienced.
