We received threatening and harassing messages stating that, because we were a day late, they would be DOUBLING the cost of the service on the original invoice as well as threatened legal action against us when we were not even a full day late!! After speaking to a lawyer, this is actually illegal. They lied to us over and over, threatened us (even after we made our payment we still were bombarded with messages), and were so disrespectful. They are, hands down, the worst kind of people and I truly have no idea how they are still in business. Run!!!!

Beat the Heat was contracted as the HVAC company by the primary contractor for a large condo repair…read morejob on Topsail Island following Hurricane Florence. They did some work early on directly for our HOA prior to hiring the primary contractor and we paid them in full. We asked that the contractor not use Beat the Heat because their prices were approximately 40% higher than the local firms we use regularly. They used them anyway, and the work was subpar, and required many rounds of rework- up to 6 times returning for some units. There was also a case where they claimed all HVAC units on one building were vandalized. The case is still open, but the police investigation indicates it was most likely incompetent work that damaged the units. We were able use our local contractor who repaired all 'vandalized' units and replaced and repaired all units on that building in one third of the time and for half the price as compared to Beat the Heat's work. On 2 other buildings. The required rework was approximately 10% as compared to Beat the Heat. DO NOT USE BEAT THE HEAT under ant circumstances! Unethical and incompetent. Price gougers!
