Someone on the street who had just done this museum said it was the best one in town. Tbh I didn't…read morebelieve them. I figured it would just be replicas and diaramas kinda like the civil war museum in Vicksburg. I WAS WRONG. I immediately knew this was different when I saw Billy the kids boots. A chill went down my spine. Was this legit?! The next case, Wyatt Earp gun.... The Dalton's, Jesse James, The Youngers, Doc Holiday and so much more. I was amazed by these artifacts each case stuffed full of items ... The contents of Johnny Ringo's pockets when they found his body! All of this with identifiers made by the owner himself. Many hand written. You can tell the guy knows more about every single fighter, then I know about even just one. I also want to point out, the 5 dollar entrance fee is a bargain. Back home, a museum like this would cost 45 dollars a person, and it would be sterilized. If you only do one museum in all of tombstone. Make it this one. The ONLY down side I can think of I would love more of Bass Reeves. His case was small. For people who don't know, he was far deadlier then Earp and holiday combined... by more then double. He was also responsible for the capture of more then 3000 men including his own son. The other person I would have loved to see would be Elfeugo Baca and his 36 hour stand off against 80 men. BUT that's just me being picky and wanting to see a few personal favorites anyway, like I said, if you see only one. This is it.

The museum is thoughtfully curated, with an impressive collection of authentic firearms, artifacts, and exhibits that bring the stories of legendary lawmen, outlaws, and gunfighters to life. Every display is well-presented, making it easy to immerse yourself in the rich history and craftsmanship of the era. One of the absolute highlights of our visit was seeing John Wayne's original firearms and personal accessories. Being able to view these iconic pieces up close added a unique and memorable dimension to the experience, especially for fans of classic Western films and American history. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for something unique to explore, the Gunfighter Hall of Fame is well worth a visit. It's an engaging, educational, and beautifully maintained museum that offers a fascinating glimpse into the people and legends who shaped the American frontier.

We found out about the Rose Tree Museum from the owner of the nearby Cowboy Coffee place. He has a…read morefamily connection to this place, but although maybe not objective, it was a good recommendation. If you bring your coffee cup from Cowboy Coffee you get a dollar off the normally six dollar admission price. However, even without a dollar discount, this stop is very worthwhile. There are Yelp complaints about a rude person who was collecting tickets, but we encountered a very hospitable woman, so maybe that guy is gone. There are three period rooms that are worth seeing, but I enjoyed the other displays even more. They have a lot of family artifacts from the gold rush error, including my favorite, an assay scale used to measure gold dust. It claims that it can measure the weight of a pencil mark on a piece of paper! Another interesting item is a check made out to the very not politically correct "last Chinaman in Deadwood." There are period guns, dresses, elaborate locks, and many other items that really are museum worthy. The namesake to the museum is the rose tree in the courtyard. Or more accurately, the rose tree and the court yard are synonymous, because it covers the entire court yard. It is supported on a giant trellis, and it was planted in 1895. It's enormous and it was in bloom. Honestly, this place is more interesting than it looks on its website. I recommend a visit when you are in Tombstone.

So this is normally more my wife's thing, BUT I was surprised at the history contained in this…read moresmall museum. The two gentlemen that greeted us at the door were just wonderful humans. One was the grandson or maybe great grandson of the person who the musium focused on and this was her belongings, her clothes, and her house. This is verified to be the largest rose tree in the world and it alone is worth the couple dollars admission... I think it was like 6-7 bucks. The other gentleman that created walked with a cane and he stood outside and we talked for about half an hour about all the beautiful places we been too, and want to see. I was genuinely happy having met these two as well as the lady who sat on the bench with us (I'm sorry I'm so bad with names!) I also want to acknowledge the price point again, back home even the smallest museum is like 35 bucks, that's just not affordable. The low prices at this, and other museums in the area allowed us to see and do, much more for our money. So thank you rose tree museum, for the great fellowship, and the cheap prices.

The courthouse itself is beautifully maintained, offering a detailed look at the legal and social history of Tombstone. The exhibits are informative and engaging, covering everything from notorious outlaws to the everyday lives of the town's residents. I especially enjoyed the courtroom, which has been meticulously restored to its original condition. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, providing insightful stories and answering all my questions with enthusiasm. Their passion for the history of Tombstone really added to the experience. The park also has well-kept grounds and a nice gift shop where you can pick up some unique souvenirs. Whether you're a history buff or just looking for an interesting outing, Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park offers a rich and immersive experience.

It is worth walking to the museum if for no other reason to take a selfie with the building in the background - it is truly a gem. The inside has old creaky stairs and lots of memorabilia - it generally takes us almost hours to make it through everything. Don't miss the gallows out back (see photo). The museum does not focus on the shootout, so if you are looking for a ton of stuff from that you might be disappointed, though there is a small exhibit that describes the events of the day. Worth the stroll a block off main street and the price of admission.

Live music. Burgers and sandwiches. Full bar. Waitstaff in costume…read more We dined here on a Saturday during lunch. The room was packed with people standing at the bar. A very good keyboard player was live throughout our visit singing location appropriate songs like "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers. We were seated by the host with newspaper style menus. The menu includes pub fare including apps, salads, sandwiches, burgers and personal size pizza. There is a kids menu, but it's not really a kid venue. It's quite loud and there are paintings and photos of nudes scattered throughout. Also, no diaper station, just fyi. Food was good and it came out in reasonable time. My bbq brisket sandwich was lean and the sauce well balanced. I upgraded my side to a salad. It was a good portion size and fresh with dressing on the side. There are limited 'sit down/table service' places to dine in the historic area of tombstone. This one is lively, right in the heart of the area. Gift shop on the lower level, down a steep circular staircase, has a lot on offer. Boots to hats and under things. Toys, jewelry, accessories and tshirts. The back room is preserved as it was with a hole down to a mine (that is blocked up now). Restrooms are older but clean, located at the back where you'll find a veterans memorial hallway and atm machine. Parking on side streets or public lot.

There is a lot of history and fun stories to be told. I got the award winning pastrami sandwich. It was pretty good, not sure award winning level but J would happily come back! People are friendly, live music is great, and it's just an all around good time. If you could only go to one restaurant in Tombstone, come here!!
