I'll have to try them :) Please try them next time you're in town instead of going to the usual coffee shop.

Starbucks at St Stephen's Shopping Centre is located on the upper level of the shopping centre, in…read morethe city centre of Hull. The interior is fairly modern, the window seats have nice views of the shopping centre below, and there's mainly comfortable seating, although I do think the overall size is just not adequate, considering this is the only Starbucks in the city centre that isn't in the train station, so it does get very busy. I ordered a Venti Iced PSL via the mobile app, there was a reasonably long wait for my drinks, and the waiting area felt very cramped, but they were busy. My drink tasted good and was up to a reasonable standard, although it did cost a little more than usual as this is a franchise location, it worked out 40 p more compared to a corporate-owned store, this can add up if you visit a lot and buy multiple drinks. Due to being located inside the shopping centre, they do close fairly early at 7 pm, the only other Starbucks nearby would be located inside the train station, but even then they're only open until 8 pm and don't accept Starbucks cards for payment. 3* - Decent Starbucks, yet very busy. Definitely could do with an extra store in the city centre to take the load of this one, which will likely make the experience better across the board.

I ordered the Toffee Spiced Latte, and it was absolutely delicious. Luckily enough I came in here when the £0.50 drink promotion was running, so I scored a top drink at an amazing price!! The baristas that work in here are super friendly, and make the drinks really fast, which is great if you're in a hurry. There's also plenty of indoor seating available, but unfortunately when I visited, the COVID restrictions were in full swing, so only takeout was available. If you're wanting a good hot drink or snack, come and check out Costa Coffee!

The day we went, it was very busy but there was still some seating available. The choice of cake/pasteries was great. Just looking at them I wondered how many will I be able to eat in one go, they look that tasty! I plumped for the double chocolate cake in the end. It was lovely and moist, but most of all, it was tasty! There was even a profiterole on top covered in chocolate. The slices are a fair size too which personally are think are reasonably priced considering how nice they are. To be honest, the portions are just the right size. Once I finished mine, I was nicely full and couldn't have managed anything else (even if they did look lush). With my slice of cake, I had a pot of tea, which was enough to get three cups out of, which was a pleasant change. They use tea leaves which are contained in a compartment just under the lid. They do have a selection of sandwiches too (not just cakes!) and they also do an afternoon tea off for £25 (for 2 people) which includes some sandwiches/quiche, some patisseries and some scones. I'm assuming that you would also get a tea/coffee included in the price, although it was not mentioned in the menu. You can opt to take the sanwiches and cakes away if you like and avoid the paying the VAT. I would just like to say that if I put on loads of weight in the next few months, it is my mum's fault (who told me thay had opened one in Beverley) and I partly blame Matt F (Manchesters CM) for posting his review/photo, which made me want to pay them a visit there and then! :o)
