Giving 1 star is even being nice. I used to love the vet, but recently it has really gone down hill. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get an appointment (basically only good for checkups that you schedule months in advance). Not all but some receptionists talk to their customers like we are below them. Also, without going into too many details there has been twice when I have been lied to by staff. I switched here initially since they were willing to take all 4 of my cats for their annual exams at the same time. There is a multi pet discount though single pet exam cost is higher than others. I feel the cost is worth it because Dr. Gordon does not push any extras and will spend as much time as necessary for a thorough exam and education. All my questions and concerns were addressed and there was no addition charges for ear swipe microscope exam. Banfield vet pushed for annual teeth cleaning under anesthesia but here she take a conservative approach and discussed brushing and dental treats. Actually, only 1 of 4 cats may need teeth cleaning sometime in the next couple years. The wait time is minimal and I never experienced a crowded waiting room. I have taken my best friend there since my arrival back home in 2013. My dog had a very very bad emergency and when I called they refused to fit him into their scheduled day it was filled ! I then just put my dog in my car and drove I happen to come upon a vet's office I took my dog inside and even though they had a full day they took my dog and he was treated very well by strangers ! Good vets and assistants, they're all very nice. However, I think they overbook sometimes. They are currently doing curbside dropoff which works fine, but for an 11:30 appt they didn't bring my dog in until 12:30. Waited in the car for an hour. My dog was in there for 10 minutes for a yearly checkup and some shots. Curbside dropoff worked fine, but the wait was a little much. Hopefully next time the wait won't be so long. The vet who takes care of my dog Emma is sweet and kind. They are clean,if you send a referal you get money off your bill. The red haired receptionist is so so helpful. They work with you if you are low income,I was able to work with animal friends as a referal,and get their rate for a spay and still use my vet. They kept her over night,she was tired still next day but healed up nicely. I highly recommended them. Such nice people. I do wish they did a call the next day though to see if she was ok. But all and all,they were good. They do nails nice,they came recommended to us. They also did her anal gland,explained everything and said when to return. If you request reminders on vaccines they do. They also carry good brands of items for dogs who have allergies and refill meds readily. You wont be disappointed with their services. A bit pricey,but they do a great job. I know there are cheaper places but I wouldnt go to any of them,the ones ive seen cheaper were either dirty,or basically the one in East Mckeesprt,a killing field vet,meaning only go there if you have to euthanized your pet. I just noticed that I gave a great review not so very long ago. It's under Mavra S. I continue to take my pets to White Oak Vets. One of them is an elderly cat with serious eye issues. Dr. Gordon gives me great tips on how to help her live her best life. Dr. Fleck was wonderful last summer when one of my cats, a very mischievous boy, got out and was gone for a month. One is supposed to love their PCP, their pediatrician, etc. I LOVE my veterinarian & the staff at White Oak Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Gordon is amazing. Over Christmas, however, I saw a "relief" vet for my sick shih-Tzu Ghengis. I regret I cannot recall her name. She has a practice in Alaska. I felt like she'd known me/my pup for years. So thoughtful with her approach to his care. In trying to avoid giving him an injection that would sting, she attempted to administer an antiemetic pill first in a beef-type chew. Ghengis would have no part of that. I mentioned that he liked hot dogs, kielbasa, etc. as a means for oral medication. This vet actually took ham from her own lunch and used it for Ghengis' pill. I think she loved him despite knowing him for mere minutes. I don't know what I'd do without White Oak Veterinary Clinic and the knowledgeable, kind animal experts who work there. read more

I had had my dog there since she was a puppy, so for five years. Then we took my daughters dog there too, who was 3. Recently, she ate a sock and had a bowel obstruction. The vet said she needed surgery and that I could take her to avets or he could do the surgery there. Being a newer pet owner and not having medical issues as of yet, I relied on his recommendation that he could do the surgery. What he didn't inform me of was the after treatment and he should have recommended we take her to the vet hospital where she could stay overnight to be monitored. She had the surgery in the morning snd I was told I could pick her up around 4:30-5. No aftercare other than her meds and keeping Her from running around. We were taking her out on a leash to pee as directed. She finally pooped out the rest of her stuff that was stuck in her bowel but that was it. What I'm saying is and what I'm really upset about is that for that type of surgery, she needed to be at a hospital and not sent home with inexperienced pet owners who rely on a vet's expertise. We ended up having to put her down bc she was septic. Another surgery didn't guarantee it wouldn't come back again and it was basically killing her. We are so heartbroken bc she was otherwise a very healthy pup, so no I do not recommend Dr. Treese in particular at White Oak Vet. We've been taking our dog here for two years now. We brought gotten pretty comfortable with the employees. However, our dog has had an issue and we called for three weeks. We finally got a call back and they said they would call back in 24 hours. They didn't. We called a couple more times again because she this is something we are seriously concerned about. After 6 years as a client, they turned my very SICK dog away stating that they had no emergency openings (they were open). Had to go to AVets. Needless to say, we've switched over to a new vet since then and will not be returning to White Oak. Another questionable practice...the rabies vaccines they give state 2 year which according to many outlets don't exist. Even PA code states 1 or 3 year vaccines. This leads me to think that they are knowingly over-vaccinating animals to make money! Vets are not very personable and Dr. Fleck has a habit of ignoring me and only speaking to my husband. Dr. Fleck and his staff are great. They have always been very kind and gentle with my cat. You never feel rushed or made to feel the reason you brought your pet in was nothing, silly or unnecessary. They take the time to listen to your concerns and explain exactly what is being done and why. My cat needed an antibiotic injection that had a high cost. They told me the price and asked my approval before giving it. They have evening and weekend hours which makes it great for pet owners that work. I am disappointed to say the least when on Friday March 14th I went to this office. I saw a cat in the road, obviously feral/homeless that had been badly injured. No one stopped but me to give this cat some dignity during its last moments on this planet. A woman that lived close called this office and told me to go there, they could help this cat be put out of his misery. I was greeted by an elderly woman who was nasty, uncaring, and was ONLY concerned about money. "Who's going to pay this bill? You need to go elsewhere" I was told time and time again. I demanded to see someone who would have SOME compassion to put this animal out of pain. I was hurried into an operatory and a vet tech came in. Coldly she looked at me and said "so you hit the cat?" Upset from the cat having blood coming out of his nose and eyes, I said no, just help him. He needs to be put to sleep . The elderly woman came into the op and begrudgingly said we will do this one time good Samaritan act of no cost to put him to sleep . The woman who I was with (that stopped after seeing me in traffic) filled out the paper since I was holding this poor creature in my arms the entire time, and the elderly woman left in a huff. Apparently it's beneath her to help people/animals in need. The vet came in, Dr. Fleck and was drab about the entire situation, wasn't mean, but didn't even say thank you for caring about this poor animal. They took him into the back room to do the euthanasia. I didn't get to see it happen, but I hope they did what they said they were going to do. I have had animals now for 30 years and going to different vets over the years I have NEVER gone to a place that is SO concerned about money and SO stand-offish and uncaring. Be assured that I will not recommend this place, not go back to this place, and make sure all my animal friends know that this isn't the place to go if you love your animal, even if it is an animal that you never met. I have been going to this vet for 2 years, averaging ~ $1000/year. Prepare to wait! Not occasionally, not once in while for an emergency or a busy time period! EVERY APPOINTMENT! You will spend 1 hour to 1.5 hours at your appt. NOT because you are seeing the vet, YOU ARE WAITING. Your average wait time for a vet tech is 30 minutes! I have no idea how their prices compare to other vets. All I know is that I paid what ever they asked and the cost of the same service differs every time you go depending on who is there! No extraordinary service or no advice that any other vet wouldn't offer. I have a sick dog and I didn't want to change vets, but change I did! Today, after I waited for 25 minutes for my dog's shot, when I opened up his drugs, found out that they filled some and not others! No one said anything. I had to call to be told that I would have to have them filled elsewhere......I changed vets. I and my dog deserve better! read more
