There are not different rooms as such but there are 4 separate parts and a large beer garden which has a small fountain in one corner. There is also a large car park at the back. The people are friendly and the drinks are about average prices. It's all clean and accessible. There is a tv in one room but if you don't want to watch football, you can go anywhere else in the pub or sit outside to avoid it! Children are welcome and it's not very busy.

The pub was updated a few years ago. The update kept the best of the old pub feeling but added an atmosphere and furniture scheme that is comfortable and almost coffee house like. On a nice day the gardens are well appointed with seating, tables and even a teepee. The food is exceptional. From classic fish and chips to the house speciality, pizza, you will not be disappointed. If you are stoping in for a drink, the bar is fully stocked and sits just off the dinning areas. I ventured into this place to celebrate a friends birthday for drinks, and was surprised how busy it was which provided a great atmosphere. This is the kind of place that I could quite happily stay at for a few hours sampling the food and trying some of the local ales. There is a back room that is utilised as a dining area, and I was told the area can be used to host a special occasion. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the service top notch. A return visit to sample the food will have to be done!

Feeling a little swanky at it but still, cheaper than most of the traditional pubs surrounding it, a good area to get up and strut your stuff, and close enough the other aspects of "nightlife" in town (not to mention close to bed if you've opted for one of the travel lodges). No.1 felt like the perfect start to an active stratford night. Now i wouldn't normally review a place i had spent such a small amount of time in (without much of a yelp head on for it either - no food, no carefully laid tests for the staff). But one act from the staff compels me: We were walking into town, unsure where would be open, it was really very late. Two intimidating looking bouncers are stood outside No1 (as is their job). We pause across the road, wondering at a country bar that needs bouncers like that, i was about to walk on when they bellowed, "don't worry its nice in here, come on over!" Both with beaming smiles, one walked us in and pointed us to a good spot to sit and the other instructed my friend as to where to smoke (out the front it seemed was less windy that night). I was amazed, to be honest i'm used to bouncers being short tempered and sometimes pretty brash with you (thats just part of city life!). This is the first review i've penned where the security made a place worth visiting for me, well done guys!!
