The owner herself took our photos, and they where beautiful too. I am an armature photographer myself, and took a few courses in college. Wasn't my passion, but I have a bit of a picky eye now. The owners style was nice, meh on the editing. I had some spanks showing in a photo I wish they edited out. I still bought that photo. I really liked Lindsey and wish they kept her. Her interaction with us and our kid was awesome. Her photo style and backdrop/ prop ideas was also amazing. She tried ideas and suggestions I had. Let me see her screen to decide if I want to retake a pose or move on. Fixed little things she saw through the lens that I didn't notice while trying to get my kid to smile/ giggle. HER photographer had also used Allen Tsai for her wedding. I decided to take some time and followed Allen's presence on social media and the internet. Turns out he's VERY decorated and has been featured a lot in publications. His clients are worldwide, and all the photographers I respect want HIM for the THEIR weddings. If he's the professional that all the other professionals use, I knew I was never going to entertain any other photographer. The second I got engaged, I told my wedding planner we had to secure Allen. And that's what we did. THANK GOD because it takes a special photographer to handle everything an everyone that was, My Wedding. I got married in Downtown Dallas and my wedding had very "city" vibes. I didn't want to have every "conventional" wedding party shot, and so I had tasked Allen with the burden of making my wedding photos look like "something off the cover of Vanity Fair." Not typically his route for weddings, and also confined to a VERY tight timeline, somehow, Allen was able to execute my vision. More than that, every shot from the reception is PERFECT. The lighting was consistent in every shot (and let me tell you, the lights from the stage and darkness of the room was all over the place that night). He captured beautiful portraits, but also grabbed very intimate moments between myself and my husband, our friends, and our family - shots that we didn't know anyone was watching. The photos were edited and turned in record time (amazing considering he shoots digitally AND in film) and the gallery of proofs was enormous. This was so important because I've heard HORROR stories from friends whose galleries were pitifully small since the photographer didn't have very good content to return. The gallery is easy to use navigate and he even offers printing services (huge if your local pharmacy does a bad job with prints). Here is my biggest jaw-drop of the experience: Allen worked alone. My wedding had around 225 guests and you would have thought (based on the photos) that he had at least two assistants. Finally, Allen is also just awesome to work with. He's kind and dedicated to his craft, and he is so respectful and polite. He rocked my wedding and I'm so glad we hired him.

At the same time, he creates a very calm, light, and fun atmosphere that creates true, genuine moments between you and your significant other. I really encourage anyone using Allen's services to listen to his recommendations. For example, our original scheduled date was cloudy and overcast. He recommended that we wait for sun if we truly wanted to be happy with our photos. We are so grateful to have listened to him, because the results were wonderful (see attached). I hired Jolan Jade Photography after reviewing her beautiful online portfolio, which showcased thoughtfully styled newborn portraits, professional posing, and a variety of creative compositions. Unfortunately, the photographs I received were vastly different from the quality and variety advertised. I paid $600 for a gallery consisting largely of repetitive photographs, nearly identical overhead angles, and minimal variation in posing or composition. Many of the images were essentially duplicates with slightly different facial expressions. The difference between her advertised portfolio and the actual work delivered was incredibly disappointing. What made this experience even more frustrating was the lack of professionalism. When I expressed my concerns, rather than acknowledging the significant differences in quality, she attributed the results to my son's age and size, the lighting in my home, and even complained about my nanny. For context, this is my third child and my third experience with professional newborn and childhood photography. I am very familiar with how these sessions work and what to reasonably expect. I have had the same nanny and the same lighting conditions in my home during previous photography sessions without experiencing these issues. Furthermore, my husband, sister, and nanny were all present during the session, and all three commented afterward on how unprofessional they found her conduct. Unfortunately, I wasn't present for the entire session, but hearing the same concerns from three people who witnessed it was incredibly disappointing. I also provided my son's exact age and measurements before booking. If his age, size, or the conditions in my home would significantly limit the photographer's ability to produce work comparable to her advertised portfolio, I believe those concerns should have been communicated beforehand rather than used as explanations afterward. Newborn photographs are irreplaceable memories. These are moments you cannot recreate, and choosing a photographer is an important decision built on trust, professionalism, and the quality of work they advertise. My disappointment goes far beyond simply disliking a few photographs. It is the substantial discrepancy between the work advertised and delivered, the lack of variety and attention to detail, and the overall experience. I strongly encourage other parents to request complete, recent client galleries rather than relying solely on the carefully selected photographs displayed on a website. After three children and three professional photography experiences, this was by far my most disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this photographer.

I booked Kim for a newborn photography session when my daughter was two weeks old. I originally did…read morenot think I would want or need newborn photos but after my little one was born, I decided I would really like a professional set of photographs to always remember this special time with her. Even though it was last minute Kim was able to fit me in within a week! Kim assured me I was not too late (I read the photos need to be in the first week) and from the start our communication was warm, friendly, and accommodating. Ahead of our session Kim sent me a very detailed layout of what to expect for the day and how to prepare. Kim is a mom herself and it is clear she understands how challenging those first few weeks are. I was so relieved when she told me not to worry too much about our clothing and she just wanted us to be comfortable and natural. Being two weeks postpartum the last thing I wanted to stress about was my appearance. Kim was extremely open to any ideas we had and invited me to send photos of my baby ahead of the scheduled photoshoot as well as any photo requests we had so she could be fully prepared for our session. Kim also made sure to let us know that she was fully vaccinated and would be wearing a mask during our session. Kim's home is beautiful and was a quick drive from the city. When we arrived, she had turned up the temperature, so the space was warm and comfortable for our daughter. It was an extremely calm and relaxed environment and she thought of everything, she had a diaper changing station set up, offered us water, and had a private room for me to feed my baby. Since we do not live close to our families Kim was one of the first people who held our daughter. She was extremely gentle and kind and did such a great job soothing her when she was fussy. In fact, she had such a great technique at getting her to settle I tried it myself when I got her home! Even with a full belly and a calm warm environment my daughter did not want to sleep during the photoshoot so posing her was not as easy since she was awake. Kim was so professional, she would gently position our baby but as soon as she walked away, she would move, often laying face down so a photo was not possible. Kim was always able to roll with the punches and quickly adjust the bedding to get her into a new pose without disturbing her. She was so warm and compassionate throughout the entire experience, telling us how great our baby was doing and how adorable she was. When we got the photos back, we were blown away. They were beautiful and she truly captured our baby's personality. Neither myself nor my husband were excited about having photos of ourselves taken but we are both so glad we did. The focus of the photos is on our daughter, but she was able to capture the love between the three of us. Kim's style is so classic and timeless I know we will be able to enjoy these photos for years to come. I am so happy I booked Kim for my baby Colette's photoshoot and I would highly recommend her to anyone considering working with her.
