The White Hart pub has changed hands many times through the years and is situated in the picturesque village of Stanley, a typical Midlands village.
There weren't many people on entering for dinner, but being early that was to be expected. A point against them would be that the bartender was sitting by his friends but being so empty we didn't really mind and they wern't disturbing us.
Serving a vegetarian a senior and a student they were flexible compared with many pubs, only a few vegetarian options but no mind given, whilst there was a wide range of ales and choice meals for the rest of us normal people ;)
The surf and turf I had was delicious, the steak cooked how I liked with not your typical, greasy pub chips. Similarly the chilli con carne and the scampi for my companions was quite good with little to no faults, honest pub food and drink across the board with a good price.
All in all with satisfactory service; decent menu choice, great food and a rustic if quiet setting, if you're looking for a meal in the general area a recommend. read more
