It was a beautiful celebration of my mom's life. Madeleine did an amazing job. Thank you for making it so memorable.

Such was the case recently when a friend of ours held a beautiful service for her mother here. The building and decor is low key and modern, clean, and non-denominational. We especially loved the complimentary "thank you" provided by the home - forget me not seeds to plant in honor of the loved one. How absolutely wonderful. The room the service was held in was roomy and comfortable. Kudos for making what could have been a very sad day one that was filled with pure love.

Jen, who was our advisor, went over and above what I thought was her responsibility as far as making the day run smoothly she basically did everything for us, including help us with the flowers, a video montage that we had up there with the music right down to what would happen at the cemetery I hope I never have to plan anything like this again but if I do, I definitely would use Mt. Laurel home for funerals took all the stress out of it and made us feel so welcomed ! It was a military funeral so there's a lot more details involved and they just helped everything go by smoothly. Again, thank you for making this most horrible time of our lives a little bit easier to bare !

This casual event can be held at an outside venue or in the funeral home. The program is customizable, often including music, dancing, hobby displays, and a tribute video that captures the essence of the life of the deceased. Of course, if conventional funeral options bring the nostalgia and closure you are craving, you can select a viewing with a funeral service, ending with a graveside ceremony. Direct cremations are the most affordable option, allowing you to skip all of the costs of planning a memorial service. Or you can pair a cremation with a memorial ceremony and let your friends and family pay their respects.

After emailing them, I received a phone call from David Lambie to talk to me personally about what we were looking for (cremation,  memorial service,  live streaming,  death certificates,  social security and Medicare notifications, paperwork to fly the ashes internationally)and the costs.    David was kind and caring.  He took his time and explained the processes, step by step.     A week and a half later, my father passed away. I called David just after midnight.  He was there within half an hour to pick up my dad.      The next day, we met with David and worked out the obituary and the rest of the arrangements.   He listened to us, and he made thoughtful suggestions.  Over the next few days, he was patient and attentive as we edited the obituary   and memorial cards several times.  He added and edited our picture montage several times as well.  He was always patient, and kind and sympathetic. He and his lovely wife, Dana, recommended several restaurants for our post memorial reception.    On the day of the Celebration of Life he had someone in the parking lot upon our arrival, ready to help us bring in our pictures, photo albums,  and other props. From the moment we walked in the door, David was there and ready to help us set up our memory vignettes.  My dad had multiple businesses throughout his life and we set up stations that payed homage to his entrepreneurial endeavors.      David went above and beyond.  We had family across the country who were not able to fly in for the services. David started the live feed an hour early so our family members could watch the reception before the services and eulogies started.      The services and eulogies were heart warming and stirring.   At the end of everything,  we had so many people approach us and compliment us on the best funeral that they had ever attended.   I don't know about you,  but I've never been to a funeral that was such a stand out,  that I wanted to remark about it to the family.  We heard it over and over again.   This was all made possible by David & Dana Lambie.    When we were leaving,  David & Dana had everything ready for us.  They had a flash drive of the services, the guest book, the framed picture of my father from the memorial service, and the paperwork we would need to transport the ashes internationally.        They were thorough and efficient, warm and caring.  I can't say enough wonderful things about them.   I would recommend them highly.   They are professional,  effective,  compassionate and a credit to their profession.  When you need funeral services,  know that these people will handle every detail with the utmost care.   David and Dana Lambie are absolutely fantastic!

When our grandmother got sick ... they were so nice when I called to ask about her joining my grandfather in the same crypt. But after she passed this year ... it became a nightmare. It started out ok ... as my aunt made all the arrangements and was again promised that our grandparents would be laid to rest together. Much of our family had moved away from the area ... but many decided to come back (from as far as CA and the UK) just for the interment. Everything was fine as family members flew her urn in from CA. Upon calling them to confirm the service in less than 1.5 days ... this is where things took a turn for the worse, as they said grandma would now NOT be with grandpa, but in another crypt! This went back and forth for another whole day ... where they said the only solution to ensure that they'd be together was to purchase ANOTHER crypt at over $5K plus fees, which was in the newer section away from the rest of our family ... and we would have to postpone the service already scheduled for the next day until new paperwork was completed! It was thoroughly demoralizing ... not to mention callus and uncaring after the pain and grief we were already experiencing from the loss of our grandmother. After we resigned ourselves to continuing with the planned service with grandma being in a different crypt (especially since all family members had already made arrangements to attend the next day) ... we were thrown for another loop when we went there in the morning prior to the service. As the crypt was opened in preparation for the interment ... it seemed like the size of the crypt did not match the paperwork/contract and the urn would NOT fit! We had to scramble again and it was by some miracle that we were able to resolve it. What a terrible way to do business and to take advantage of families at such a difficult time in their lives ... just horrendous!!

I'm glad to see others have had positive experiences, but I really cannot recommend this place. I was traveling in rural Japan when my mother died. It was difficult to get back to New Jersey and took me a little time. I spoke to the funeral home staff on the phone, clearly explained what we wanted, and told them my expected arrival. While I was ON THE PLANE, the funeral home consulted with a friend of my mother's, not even a family member, and made irrevocable decisions that went directly against what I had explicitly stated on the phone before I left Japan. No one checked with me. No one tried to contact me. No one considered waiting a few hours until my plane landed when they could have called me to discuss. No one told me anything until I arrived at the funeral home days later. This is completely unacceptable and unethical behavior and quite frankly, I was so shocked, while also experiencing grief, that I couldn't even react at the time. It's several years ago now, but I still think of it often. I am still angry about it. In fact, just writing this made me furious again. Please go somewhere else if you need funeral services. Somewhere that has respect for people.

Around 1910, the family name inexplicably changed to Healey, but the service remained the same. The business involved John's brother, Joseph, who also opened his own home in South Philadelphia. In 1935, Joseph's son, John A. Healey, II opened the family's first South Jersey funeral home for a brief time before returning to his Philadelphia roots. Independently owned and operated, Healey Funeral Homes now consist of two locations, one in Haddon Heights and another location in Cherry Hill that was established in 1970.
