It's been a while since I've visited this hidden gem of a most peaceful and popular cemetery. I've…read morebeen going to this cemetery for decades, and it hasn't lost its charm! There's massive construction going on, and they're trying to make more space available for future permanent residents. This well-maintained boutique type cemetery deserves to be on anyone's bucket list for locals and visitors visiting LA! My mother is interned here, and every time I visit, I always go to the cemetery office to say hello! But now, there isn't an office right now, because they removed that classic building! When I pay my respects, it's always an adventure. I get approached by people who are looking for Marilyn, finding a restroom, asking me if my mom is a famous celebrity, and wanting secrets about where certain high profile people are. I get all kinds of questions, and sometimes they are hilarious! Let's face it, to be interned here is $$$$$$$. It's almost like an exclusive club where people are dying to get in. I've gotten to know other loved ones of the deceased over the years, and always a pleasant experience. The staff and landscaping staff are amazing at what they do! And their dedication to maintaining this clean and safe environment is outstanding! For the steep price they charge for a plot, I'd say it's so worth it. When I visit my mom, there's no cobwebs, no trash, and it's spotless. The people I've seen, and the stories I've heard, some wacky tales, that is something I'll take to my grave, when it's my turn to be buried here. The only gripe I have is when a celebrity passes and there's a burial service, they close the whole cemetery, and I can't get in to see my mom. That's happened a few times. However, the security guard or staff member are always polite enough to tell me to make arrangements to visit another day. Mostly, my experience dealing with this cemetery has always been a pleasant one. Highly recommended!! Thank you for reading this!

Today I came here to see if my friend J's headstone was there. She is interred now with her husband D who passed in the 90s. I know she is at peace in her final resting place ... she will always be remembered with love and joy! And inside each of our hearts she will always reside ... I espied D's headstone and realized the new one that was supposed to replace it wasn't there.. I knew I had to do some detective work to find out what was happening!!! I met with Amber ( the person who would guide me through this process) in her office behind the chapel. Wow, she is definitely the loveliest of people! Smart, charming and kind... she helped me find out what the status was re: NEW headstone. I let her family know all of the details I had gathered and I was assured all would be resolved soon. PS I also also want to mention that when I first arrived at Pierce Brothers I spotted a fellow working there who helped me too... HIS NAME IS ANGEL! How cosmic and appropriate... ;))) I will return again and again. It is and amazing and peaceful place.

Hollywood Forever,…read more We meet again! And this time for a special screening of Wednesday, but on a Friday in May :) I've enjoyed so many great things here since my first trip back in 2010, including All About Eve, Showgirls, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to name a few. This cultural community hub is so many things including the resting place of many legends of the past as well as an event center. Spring, Summer and Early Fall months filled with live music, djs, performances and screenings on the large open lawn. The layout is massive and gorgeous with ponds, landscaping and huge structures including four mausoleums, large plagues, headstones and statues including those for Anton Yelchin, Nicholas Brendon, Judy Garland, Herb Jeffries, Chris Cornell, Estelle Getty, Paul Reubens, Hattie McDaniel and Jayne Mansfield to name a few. The grounds are over 60 acres, with a new Gower Mausoleum additions since 2025. Restrooms are at the front entrance on Santa Monica as well as near the parking lot, however during Cinespia and major events, portable restrooms are made available. The ones they had for a special screening of the Netflix series Wednesday were top tier! Glamped out. Night lighting is incredible here. Highly recommend seeing something here if possible or touring during regular hours. Walking tours are $35 and go up to two 1/2 hours. Really hoping to catch a film here again like Hedwig and the Angry inch or Cara Delevingne performing. Definitely keeping an eye out for anything July or August. The do host and incredible celebration of life here for Dia De Los Muertos in the fall (Nov 1st). Parking structure on Van Ness, inside along the main loop, in the lot as well as local street parking, limits and restrictions apply.

It's a place where loved ones can visit and feel comfort rather than heaviness, and where your memory can rest in a setting that celebrates both history and life. Choosing Hollywood Forever felt like choosing a place that would honor not just how I lived, but how I'll be remembered. Anyone who is looking to purchase I recommend to reach out to Bernardo Limon! It is a…read morebeautiful old cemetery and Manny helped throughout the process with planning my father's gathering & burial arrangements. I'd give him 100stars, cannot say enough wonderful things about this man- He's very professional, kind, and kept me up to date as much as possible and solved problems along the way. Manny went above and beyond to help make the process easier for everyone I was very grateful for his help, I think he works harder at his job than anyone else. Aside from that I was not impressed with a lot of things. The day of the Memorial was chaotic, the guests had no direction and were told to wait so they all congregated up at the front building. Then the viewing that was supposed to be just a couple people turned into everyone coming in to view my father. This could have been catastrophic if I wasn't so laid back but he looked sharp so I figure it was meant to be that way, many were glad they got to see him. It worked out well it was just a bit overwhelming as that was way different than what was originally planned. Whoever was directing outside would not allow the person I hired to set up the photos & flowers go inside the cemetery beforehand so when I discovered that nothing had been done at the site yet I had to run from the viewing to go throw everything together all by myself at the location in the literal minutes before the ceremony. Due to that set back I didn't get anything up properly. Lastly a few days before the funeral the groundskeepers assured me that they would have my grandfathers grave cleaned up (my dad was buried in the same plot at later date) but it was not done. It's also been noticed they remove flowers very quickly after placed which is a bit off putting. They were very much on top of making sure payment was complete but after that it took a substantial amount of time and several check ins before burial happened for my dad. To be honest I didn't mind that wait but from day one I was very clear I wanted to be there for his burial. The day finally came and I found out the afternoon before that they would be burying him the next day, a bit frustrating the lack of notice but it was beyond time for it to happen so I just worked it out. I kept in communication up until just a couple hours before to make sure it was clear I would be there for the burial and agreed to come at a set time. I showed up an hour before that set time and my father was already buried!! This was extremely upsetting and the men finishing up did not seem to care in the slightest about my distress. It seems like they were just glad to have "finished up early". This has been extremely distressing for me and my family/friends are upset hearing it as well. I'm still struggling with what happened. I spoke with Manny afterwards and he was very apologetic as this was not how it was supposed to go, he was not notified they were going to finish early so there was really nothing that could have gone differently on his end. There is some major communication issues going on. I'm definitely rethinking the plans I was considering for myself and the rest of my family in a plot here as it seems like the management is lacking, it doesn't really seem like anyone else cares there. It's kept together just well enough to get paid.
