It was a wonderful experience. I had PT and OT every day beginning 11/16. My call bell was almost always answered immediately. The night staff did not smile or talk much but they always helped me in the way I needed or asked for. I had never been hospitalized before other than maternity. Scar tissue starts forming immediately after surgery so PT and OT are vital Immediately, not a week down the road when the VNA can schedule home visits. I was considered a hifi functioning patient so could have returned home. I'm so glad I opted for North Hill Rehab. There is no way my needs could be met at home in such a timely fashion.

It has been quite a while since my mother had to leave Springhouse Independent Living Community for…read moremore care, at age 95, after living her happiest 7 years, since my fahter's passon. Daughters can be very over protective of their aging mothers, as I was, but she thrived at Springhouse, enjoyed many friends and activities, pretty good food in the elegant dining room, shows and activities, providing more socialization. She even had an art show of her very own. Although Independent living was not designed to provide health care, there were times she needed to be looked in on. She had to leave for medical issues during the early panic of the pandemic, never to return. I was critical then, but now know, safety of the residents took first priority. I was hoping to move her into Springhouse Assisted Living, but it didn't work out. She needed more care. Her last two years at a medical nursing facility were not happy times. So now, if I want to remember the good times, in my mind's eye, I see her at Springhouse all gussied up for dinner and chatting with friends.

This facility just opened in November 2017. As soon as we toured it we knew it was the place for my…read moremother to transfer from Brookdale Cushing Park in Framingham. Her Alzheimer's disease had evolved enough that she would need the specialized locked memory unit.. Everything about this facility is absolutely gorgeous. The decor and furniture is beautiful not only in the main areas but throughout. The staff is so caring and so wants to create a loving home environment. Quite a few members of the staff have their own apartments on the third floor so they are available as needed. Unlike other facilities, many additional services are included in the monthly price. We thought that Brookdale was just okay but we had no idea what was really out there. It's like night and day. Mom is now closer to her children who mostly live in Worcester County so it's easy for us to pop in which is highly encouraged by the staff. They offer buffet style family dinners and seminars quite often. Even Thanksgiving dinner for the family to attend at no extra charge. I'm not sure if this is because they just opened and if perks like this will remain, but in the meantime we couldn't be more happier for Mom.

Don't walk but RUN away from this facility. My mother stayed in the Reflections section (Dementia…read moreunit). From the first week she moved in, they increased her monthly fee by thousands of dollars because she needed additional care. I would have agreed to it if they provided the care that they promised, but they did not. And once you are there, you are stuck paying the extra costs until you can get your loved one out. We had to hire private care to come in to care for our mother until we could find a better facility. Management does not care. We met with them several times, but nothing changed. My mother suffered many UTIs and a fall under their care, and several visits to the hospital. She was not like this when she first moved in. Neglect of general and hygiene care put her deeper and deeper into poor health. One example: My mother fell from her bed in the early morning. An aide came in and saw her on the floor. She looked at her but did not bend down to see if she was okay. The aide left and came back 15 minutes later with help. 15 minutes! I would not recommend this facility if your loved one needs assistance.
