And she is so talented! She has made a beautiful antiqued door display and several painted and distressed church pews for me. She is reasonably priced and stocks her store with treasures, and not a bunch of junk. She is located at the very end of the Lavonia Antique Market and you can definitely tell where her store starts and the other part ends. Night and day between her store and the rest of it. Her store is clean and organized. Also, Joyce and her sister are so helpful and friendly, unlike several of the ladies that work in the other part of this location. I will also add that she stays open for the posted store hours and does not close early or start turning off the lights on customers like they do in the other part of this location. I regularly see Joyce and her sister helping and checking out customers from the other location, when they have closed early and left customers still in the store and in the dark. The only reason I go to Lavonia Antique Market anymore is because of East Antiques, and if Joyce ever leaves, I won't go at all.

It has been in the community for approximately 20 years. While I browsed, my husband enjoyed speaking with the owner who is from the same state as my husband. This store carries interesting antiques and other furnishings. If you love the beauty of natural wood and furnishings with a history, you will enjoy this store. They carry dressers, chests, dining sets, china cabinets, chairs and more. Some of the pieces were huge and would only fit in a space with soaring ceilings, yet would definitely make a statement. The price point for several of the items were a bit shocking but I am not sure how much work may have gone into preparing the piece for resale. As long as we see a continued trend towards more modern furnishings of lesser quality, these types of stores will continue to thrive. When it comes to quality, price is sometimes irrelevant or at most secondary. I think the owner's favorite color must be green because he had hand painted his entire floor in green using a squeegie! It was very cool and creative. The one item that really caught my attention happened to be a little wooden chair that had a really cute design but also painted in a rich green color.
