Great service, cold beer, a large house salad, all at a reasonable price. The waitress said they have a salad bar on the weekend so we may have to go back to check it out. Wasn't able to have fried foods due to cross-contamination that waitress communicated easily as soon as mentioning celiac disease. Overall clean and well kept establishment. Staff was friendly but could have used more help but understandable based on small town availability of workers. Great easy dining experience.

I usually do not write reviews and really ... I usually don't but oh my gosh!…read more My husband and I were on a motorcycle trip and we are suckers for Supper Clubs. When we found this place, we decided to try it out. We didn't know that there was a bit of a gravel path to reach the restaurant but I promise ... it's worth it. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender (I'm sorry but I stupidly forgot her name!) and she was so funny and we bonded immediately being both boy moms. She was beyond knowledgeable of the food and drink menu which is always a huge plus! When we got our food, it was PERFECT. My husband and I are both foodies and I have had countless steaks in my life, but this hands down was THE BEST filet I have ever had. The owner Roumel, who is also the head chef, table touched which is unheard of now a days and we started talking about me being from Cleveland and him being from Chicago and next thing I know we're comparing our 2016 World Series notes. His were obviously better, but it was such a wholesome conversation! His wife Jilaine told us all about the story behind the restaurant and what encouraged them to buy it and the passion behind both of their words were so genuine that you could tell they took pride in their staff, restaurant and food. As a Cleveland baseball fan who got their heart broke by the Cubs, this meal helped a bit to forgive ... maybe not forget but definitely in the right step to forgive!

We tried the traditional Filipino dishes as well as the Waygu special for the night and I think all of us left with our hearts and stomachs full. Owner was kind and very friendly as he walked us through the menu and a little bit about his restaurant. The ambiance is gorgeous. Also have to note that the drive up is absolutely stunning as you are surrounded by the river, creeks, waterfalls, and such gorgeous views. This is a must go if you're looking to treat yourself! Don't skimp out - get the appetizers! They were gone within seconds of hitting our table! The skewers as well as the lumpia were such a hit.

More than five minutes, perhaps closer to ten passed. They weren't busy. One of the servers kept making rounds, but not stopping. I'd have been more patient if a beverage was offered. We decided to take the hint. We walked across the street to the sports bar, which wasn't our first choice. I have no idea if the food here is good.

I will say this is the first Japanese restaurant I've gone to that did not serve miso soup but egg drop instead? One person in our group ordered a green curry that they said was really good. So throw in some Thai also. Sushi was really good we ordered a few rolls and shared. The service was good however we felt rushed and like we were irritating the waitress with our questions so not impressed with service. Make sure you request wasabi with your sushi as they don't bring the ginger and wasabi automatically. We would definitely go back and maybe wait staff was overwhelmed as it was quite busy. The food we received was all good and no complaints it is a little louder than most Japanese restaurants.

The place is small but colorful and nice. The menu is huge- I ordered a chicken fajita salad and was given a chicken taco salad which have different ingredients - didn't realize until I was part way in thinking there wasn't much flavor at all. The chicken was not seasoned so the salad was very bland. My husband ordered the fajitas Texana and said it was fine but also barely any seasoning. The kids chicken strips and fries were great for my son. A big pro is you get chips and salsa when you are seated Maybe the lack of seasoning is due to the location and customers' wanting more bland food? But this wasn't what I'm used to for Mexican cuisine.

We chose to visit Yen Hing Dragon Restaurant. The interior is a little dated, but this is typical of small town restaurants. It's obviously family run. Seating is a combination of booths and tables and chairs. The menu is pretty large and there's something for everyone. We went with the House Special fried rice, a lunch special of Sichuan Spicy Chicken (lunch special with hot and sour soup and an egg roll), an order of crab rangoon, an iced tea and a water. $29 and change before tip. The food came out after a very short wait. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted good. Our server was very attentive. If you're passing through Waukon give these guys a shot. We were pleasantly surprised and left happy.
